....inside the Belching Dragon....."Have you heard about those adventurers? They brought news from the pass."......"What news?"......"An avalanche rushed down from the edge of the top of the mountains. They told about a huge white bear."....."We still have winter. Every winter there are rumors about a dragon, a giant king or an avalanche! "........

Word drifts through the locals of Beregost as two local women scurried about informing who they found that one Priest of Lathander procured a grand blade purified by the Morning Lord after slaying a Vampire! It was said the blade was put on display at the Temple itself and that all were welcome to see it, the Blade called Dawnbringer!

Word spreads around Beregost that there has been a vicious murder at one of local inns! A not-widely known adventurer was found in his rented bed chamber, choked to death - his throat crushed. Local law enforcement is investigating the crime, while guards speak that everything is under control, and they will bring justice to whomever has done it.

Rumor spreads that the Amnian Commander and his Captain executive officer of the Amnian Citadel of Rashturl marched north with an Amnian company into the Greenfields in pursuit of some fleeing mountain ogres bothering Amn in the Cloud Peaks region. There, the company is said to have halted and hired local adventurers to pursue the ogres instead in order to avoid a diplomatic incident with Lords Alliance polities to the north such as Elturel and Baldur's Gate. It is said that the adventurers successfully dispatched the ogres and that the Amnian military company then returned to the citadel in the south

Words spreads quickly in Nashkel that a second suicide was reported within two weeks from the first. Some insist there is foul play, though the Guards maintain there is nothing suspicious about either death. Some residents say its a coincidence and nothing to worry about, while others are opting to arm themselves against a seemingly imagined threat...

Officials in Beregost have released a statement for any persons who may have been taken advantage of by a convincing, eccentric man in his mid thirties. A con artist by the name of Harold Buckman, has been making his rounds in town for the past week, preying on any who would take pity in his pleas. He was finally caught after a scam had gone array. His known aliases are: Leopald Lowenbrau, Darvin Tallstag, and Anton Astorio. Anyone who has been in contact with this man, or any other suspicious persons are encouraged to report it.

In the last few days, both in Amn and Beregost some of the poorer inhabitants of the town seem to behave strangely. Walking around in a delirium, not responding at all to the outside, often collapsing after a time. Even well known gossipmongers can't guess the exact reason of this, but it is unnervening nonetheless.

The strange "epidemic" rages on in both Beregost and Nashakel, more and more people affected. Authorities are still unable to deal with the issue. Some people seem to be investigating, but with not too much of an effect in the public eye yet.

The strange affliction rages on in Amn, and now rumors say that there are already around seven victims of it confirmed, found in their homes dead or disappeared during nights. All of the victims are from the poorer inhabitants of the two towns.

A strange and sudden murder occurs in Nashkel as a tall, middle-aged man with a black, short beard and long hair walked into the Belching Dragon Tavern and all of a sudden grabbed his battleaxe and brutally slaughtered another man, a known merchant in the region. The entire place is reported to have been in utmost shock and the murderer himself suddenly seemed as if he didn't know what's going on around him. Nevertheless that didn't stop three of local adventurers and an off-duty guard of the settlement from taking him down with use of lethal force.

People in Nashkel are mostly scratching their heads, but tongues are wagging that "It may have been settling the score" of a sort.

The town of Beregost wakes to a commotion. Flocks of guards gather around Sheriff De Oca's apartment, closing off the street and holding up anyone suspicious. All entrances to the town see increased guard presence, and any and all travelers are being interrogated. Come midday, the commander of the Amnian garrison makes a proclamation:

"Sheriff De Oca has been found dead, murdered, this morning. May gods have mercy on his soul. It was an act most vile, and those responsible will be brought to justice. In the meantime, I will be taking over the Sheriff's responsibilities. Any and all citizens are encouraged to come forward with information.

For the Glory of Amn!"

Rumors circulate that after the elven mage called Sirion Te'Dwa comitted armed robbery and murder with a few associates, he is banned from Amn on pain of death until proper reparations are payed for Amn and her people.

This, however, has no connection to the murder of the Sheriff. People say these happenings took place a week or maybe two ago.

Templars, provided from the Song of the Morning in Beregost are seen aiding the local guard with the increased patrols. As such, many travelers have been turned away at the gates, while other merchants and alike are subjected to detailed searches. But for the guards, the streets are rather empty, while the local citizens make room for the investigation of Sheriff De Oca's death.

~BEREGOST IN BITTERSWEET VICTORY~
At early dusk this day, Beregost faced a sudden attack of a small horde of goblins and xvarts, burning the farmsteads, slaughtering lifestock and killing or kidnapping farmers to later (how rumour commonly suggest) tirelessly torture them before sacrificing their lives to evil goblin deities. Seven farmsteads were lost, a number of travellers was caught in between and many were evacuated from the immidiate area of danger.

During Moondark, Beregost's guards and templars of Song of the Morning, joined with adventurers coming from north and south, have taken the battle to the goblins and xvarts that are a scorn to local populations of humans and halflings for as long as anyone can remember. The fight was grisly, with a good number of losses on the side of Beregost. As the dawn came and Lathander greeted his followers with first rays of morning light, the battle ended with victory for Beregost's forces. The goblins and xvarts's charge was broken, their warleaders slain and rest of them routed and killed as they tried to flee and cause more destruction in their wake. Those monsters that have fled, hid themselves in dark holes and likely await for the time when they can rise once more to bring death and destruction.

In Beregost, however, funeral bells are sounding for next three days. The death toll of farmers, soldiers and templars reached about 80, by most often recounted word. Many families are currently in sorrow and grief, with many more commoners of Beregost cursing the name of Goblins and Xvarts and their evil gods. It becomes clear that this day will be remembered sourly by Beregost's inhabitants for years to come. The Song of the Morning proclaims that for as long as Lathander's light shines upon his faithful, they will never fall to the evil ways and goals of the monsters that have been preying upon Beregost's community since their forefathers first settled in this place. Together, united, they will push back every single effort of Goblinkin and Xvarts that is aimed at bringing more suffering to people of this town and outlying farms.

Notably, word spreads that Gullykin in light of these news is tightening its defenses as well. The eternal war and emnity between Halflings and Xvarts (always caused by Xvarts that always try to kill as many halflings as possible, whenever possible) is well known and the hin community appears to be taking preventing measures in case any more incursions of monsters happen in the region.
