Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
Today, Annabel and Ivan went out for a walk around the city. Her legs still cripple, she seemed to have adapted so to her new-found condition. Earlier in the day, Myhun had bought a simple, wooden wagon off a few children. After adding a few pillows for comfort, Annabel soon fell in love. So, naturally, she took her new ride out for a test-run.
The Hin woman was seen racing around the streets of the East Gate District, propelling the cart with her hands. Poor, poor Ivan was forced to keep up, and would tow her up hills that she couldn't do herself. Drifting around corners at dangerous speeds, and zooming down the rickety cobblestone roads, she laughed joyously.
The two went to the Harbour District, and were spotted talking to Captain Calico. Annabel then proceeded to help the Cap'n, by finding his crew. Again, she took off back to the East Gate District...

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
Over the course of the last few days a tall, and increasingly gaunt, figure in black robes has been seen huddled over a back table in the Shelf of Many Books of Baldur’s Gate. For as many hours per day that he is able to obtain from the clerks there, he sits alone at a table, surrounded by stacks of books, reading, and occasionally mumbling to himself unintelligibly. He writes notes on parchment, along with sketches of runes, etc.
Those edging close enough to him will realize he remains nearly oblivious to them, and if he does look up it is only briefly before he reads once more. His beard grows untamed, circles ring his eyes, and his hands are stained with ink.
If the books are looked at closely the observer may see titles such as “Treatise on Eldritch Runes”, “Revised Primer of Mystagogical Secrets”, “Infernal Portals Codex, Vol II”, “Lexicon of the Outer Planes”, etc.
It appears he may be researching something..

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate

A man walks into the local tavern and produces an odd looking helm. He asks the barkeep if any in the area are looking for a helm of much wonder by adventurers I the area and tells the man that he should direct any to a Koryeneer Sentinel. He gives the barkeep a small bag of gold coins for his time and leaves the tavern.

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
A woman going by as Cheryl Mae Castillo had recently been seen in the docks again. Rather than asking rumours about local captains and their comings and goings however, she seemed interested in an Amnian Captain and their recent dispute.
She seemed to make it clear that she was willing to be gratuitous, provided she find the gossip particularly interesting.

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
Over the last few days some rumours spread of person clothed in blue that normally walks with her shoulders straight and a determined step, now passing the cities streets quietly, keeping to herself. When in town she appears to wander aimlessly for a short period of time while constantly passing a quick glance over her shoulder.
She only pays a few brief visits to the local shops and theater, then tends to leave in somewhat of a hurry.

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
Whispers circulate of a group of elves bearing goods will be heading south to coastal cities for trade in the near future.
The merchants bustle every which way, cleaning up their shops and counting every coin to the last copper so they know how much they have to spend.
Nobles gossip giddily at the whispers and news as the legends of elven craftsmanship and finery reach their ears.
Children can be seen running excitedly around the city, makeshift longswords and longbows in their hands playing happily.
Tavern whispers circulate on the potential mighty artifacts and relics being escorted to each city for sale. Drunken disbelievers scoff and turn to consume another tankard, increasing their belly size.
With all the hushed whispers and excited talks circulating, one sliver of truth manages to stay the same in each: The Elves in the north are opening up their vaults.

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
Removed from his normal haunts between Beregost and the Friendly Arm Inn, Zahven Thruel, whom some may know as the Archmage in the employ of the Silver Shields, has been seen more frequently within Baldur's Gate of late.
Taking long-term rooms at the Helm and Cloak, he can be seen coming and going with little regularity. He may be heard speaking with patrons about Soubar and the lands nearby, though he takes his meals and drinks in his rooms most nights. At times a local runner, arms full of books and scrolls, makes his way between his room and the Shelf of Many Books.
No longer adorned in the cloak of his company, any inquiry into the organization is met with a grunt and his immediate withdrawl to his room.

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate

The White Mask Theater announced its next Open Stage Night to be in Ulgoth's Beard to bring joy and a smile to the people of the fishing village just outside Baldur's Gate after the horrendous drow raid took place. Many have lost a loved one and are in the process of rebuilding their homes, and their lives.
// Sunday 16th March
3pm EDT - 7pm GMT
How to get to Ulgoth's Beard:
Take a ship from Baldur's Gate Harbor, Roaringshore or any other place where ship travel is possible. Cost should be about 50 gold. Alternatively, walk there from the Northern Farmlands, on the trail along the Chiontar River.
For those who are new or have never attended an Open Stage Night, click the spoiler:

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
*Nihlus Rycalawre enters the local tavern after a long and harsh patrol north of the city, and drinks what was supposed to be just a few rounds. He stays at the inn for most of the day, having nothing but ale poured into his belly. As he paid some attention to the background chat between the dozen adventurers and other people inside, one of the many topics of discussion caught his mind and he approached an adventurer to know more about it.
After his questions were answered he returned to his table, continuing on with his drink until the sun was down. Which by then he took off a paper from his bag and wrote something in it, before getting up and hanging the note at an appropriate place by the entrance of the tavern*
Nihlus Rycalawre, Vigilant of the Silver Shield Mercenary company, is looking to hire the services of Luthor the Mastersmith. The object in question that i want to have your work onto is my reinforced Tower Shield. Will pay a fair ammount of gold. Meet me at the Friendly Arm, as i stay there more often, or send a courier in there telling where to meet you.

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
News spread in broad sheets of the Open Stage Night held in Ulgoth's Beard,
// Some screenshots!
On the 16th of Ches, the White Mask Theater held an Open Stage Night in Ulgoth's Beard to bring joy and entertainment for the population there. The theme for the eve was Changing Waves and the stage was set on the beach with a beautiful view out at the sea. Director Herran Hymn welcomed the audience and said a few heart warming words. Assistant Director Telia Navra lead the rest of the eve.
The first to enter the make-shift stage was Nerys, a well known member of the Theater troupe, with a song titled Roaming Good. Nerys was followed by Alaan who dedicated a poem called Fairytale to his deceased father. A druidess by the name of Leyla sang and played the drum to a song titled Freedom, ending it with a show of druidic magic. Ayla Elidote followed up with two philosophical tales; The Colibri and Stone, Pebbles & Sand. The stories are featured in her works of writing and are available at any library or book store.
Sehlanna Avenlath shared a short poem called The Best, about magic and Karsus' Folly. Elaria chose to recite her poem standing in the waters, with the message of "Do not take my wine". Rilae'ai'an was next with a song dedicated to the moon, ending it by calling up on the magic of the moon itself which formed into a beautiful blade. Herran Hymn and Telia Navra then sang a duet titled My Favourite Things. Nerys performed a song, on the request of Ameris Santrager who had dedicated a song to his homeland Tethyr. Varra Pegason, a Dawnbringer, followed with a song about enduring. The Theater's own Felian Feyborn was last with a song about a moment in time.
The audience was divided with their voting but after a tally, Felian Feyborn was announced the winner and awarded a prize sum.

Any farmers in the area may wonder if this silvery-white robed figure is waiting for the coming congress.

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
A small but significant first meeting of the monk congress, was possibly seen by any passing near the Baldur's Gate arena, on this day of Chess, 1350. Those with keen eyes who might or might not have passed the area during the first congress, would have easily seen symbols upon the 3 men, symbols of the Morninglord, the Lady of Silver and Lord of All Glyphs and Images.
For the extremely nosy types who trade in rumors of any sort and detail, it may be heard that a "showing of hands" was given...and the man with silvery-white robes remained standing amongst the 3 representatives.

As J.G. Ballard has said, "It's a mistake to hold back and refuse to accept one's own nature."
