In the light of the casualties undoubtedly beginning to pour into the Temple of Ilmater and its mortuary, the Temple of Mystra decided to relocate the body of their fallen priestess to within the limited confines of their own walls. The Temple of Mystra is now off limits to non-Mystran visitors, excepting clergy of the Temple of Ilmater, pending the resurrection ceremony to be held for her in approximately three days' time.

After Aeili's body has been moved, Telia visits the Temple of Mystra. She would at first sit quietly on one of the benches in front of the large eight pointed star, her head bowed. After some time, she would move to where Aeili is kept and carefully lower the shroud, revealing the elf's face and torso - her body being preserved with the aid of magic.

Telia begins to brush Aeili's hair carefully, thinking it to have been disturbed during the relocation. The golden strands are then arranged in a way which Aeili would have had them. She takes out her facial paints as well, carefully adding some colour on to the deceased elf's pale and lifeless face. It is very delicate and when she is done, Aeili would almost look like she is taking a nap except that her chest does not rise or fall.

The sorceress then sits nearby and talks. She speaks of many things, pouring her heart out. Yet she seems aware of that Aeili does not hear her as when no more words come, she moves towards the body and leans down, planting a soft kiss on the holy symbol which is attached on a necklace and resting on the elf's chest. "Without your guidance I feel lost... but I will remember the Lady."

It is with sadness she pulls up the shroud over Aeili again. She fusses around with it, making sure the fabric is not wrinkled before she leaves the Temple.

The Temple of Mystra has now been re-opened for public access, although it looks like some important event is just about to commence there.

~~~~~~~oOo~~~~~~~
After some time, visitors to the temple begin to leave. Many of them would undoubtedly express feelings of happiness until the realisation of the siege dawns upon them once more.
Snarfy wrote:A fancy hatted elf wearing a blue cloak wanders into the Temple of Mystra one evening, his facial features somewhat haggard looking as he glances around the interior. After a short moment the weary looking elfs gaze fixes upon the female attendant, and then he would nod in a faint greeting and move casually towards her while procuring a medium sized pearl from a pocket within his cloak.
"Pardon me, miss... I don't mean to be a bother, but my name is Jassin. I'm an acquaintance of mistress Aeili, and I've a small inquiry to make regarding something magical. I suspect either she or you might be best equipped to answer it..."
The elf (his casual demeanor suggesting, perhaps, that he is unaware of Aeili's not so recent demise), who seems to be sporting a rather nasty looking bruise on the side of his hatted head, would then hold the pearl aloft for the priestess to observe. No doubt the woman would easily recognize this item as a 'Saintsblood Pearl'.
"... you see, I acquired this pearl during the undead attacks on Kheldrivver, and I've been putting it to frequent use during the recent siege on the City. So much so that the bauble is nearly drained of it's holy energies. I wonder... is it possible that anyone here might be able to re-infuse it, by chance? If so... I would be willing to pay whatever the cost such a thing might entail.".
While he says the last bit in a vaguely reluctant tone, the elf would otherwise seem rather genuine and hopeful about his request as he waited for a response...
"Hello Jassin," the revivified priestess greeted him in her fluid, natural Elven language after coming out of her private quarters upon hearing of his enquiry. "What have you got there? Oh my, is that a Saintsblood Pearl?" The Mystran looked wide eyed at the object for some time.
"I have heard of these, but never actually laid my eyes on one before. They say they are formed by divine grace, through the shed blood of the deity's worshipper, one who died to promote the cause of good; and that their blood may continue to cry out in witness to their deity beyond the grave. Their magic is wholly dependent upon the deity of the fallen and I suspect, therefore, that you may need to consult a priest of the deity from whom this pearl was formed by martyrdom," she said with a focused pause.
"Even then I suspect that its magic remains limited to the final acts of faith vicariously wrought by the martyr through the latent divine energy contained within the pearl itself, as directed by its user. I could run a few tests and try to discern if it responds to divine magic, and whether some enchantment process may yet be uncovered to renew it. It will take some time, though. If you could leave it with me and return in a tenday, perhaps?"
She offers a faint smile.
"Oh, I can tend to that too if you like," she adds, pointing at his bruise, the same faint smile remaining upon her calm features.
Snarfy wrote:Jassin would stare at the pearl with a curious expression as Aeili went into detail about the origins of the item, and then his features would visibly droop at her mention of him possibly having to consult a priest about it. When Aeili offers to tend to his wound, Jassin would blink twice, then peer around the room(to make sure no-one else was around perhaps?) before plucking off his hat and quickly tugging his blue hood up. The now hooded elf would then give a quick shake of his head at her offer.
"Hells, I'd rather forgotten about that unsightly blemish...", he would mutter a bit dourly before continuing, "Well, seeing as how I found this... Saintly Pearl laying in the dirt of the Trollclaw hills, I really have no idea which faith it might be linked to.".
The hatted elf would purse his lips slightly at the idea of handing it over, his gloved hand even starting to extend the pearl towards her before he pauses. A slight frown at some inward thought would prompt Jassins thin brows to knit and accompany his pursed lips.
"Not to deny you the opportunity to scrutinize one of these for the first time, but... well, it's become one of my favorite keepsakes.". While there might be something vaguely evasive about his last remark, the elf would sigh and offer Aeili an apologetic, but weary, smirk before closing his hand quickly over the pearl and tucking it away again in a hidden fold in his blue cloak.
"Perhaps I could leave it with you some other time to poke and prod at...?", he asked a bit wryly before rubbing his eyes, his hooded gaze drifting once towards the door before peering at the priestess again...
Aeili responded with a courteous grin and a nod of the head. "Of course, Jassin," she replied softly in her High-accented Elven. "It is more than likely that I will still be here when or if you do."
Priestess Aeili, however, was conspicuously absent from the Gala today. She was not seen to have left the temple at all until some hours after the Gala had finished, and even then she simply went to her usual haunt in Halbazzer Drin's laboratory.
The Temple of Mystra seems to be holding some serious internal discussions at the moment regarding the fate of one of their adherents, one Celestia. Priestess Aeili looks as if she is preparing for a journey of some kind, regularly making visits to Halbazzer Drin's Sorcerous Sundries and returning with spell components, scrolls and the like.
Aeili left the temple of Mystra early in the morning on the 2nd of Chest to make a trip south.
On the next day, a rather shaken priestess returned to the city flanked by three other elves and a halfling, and likely much to Neela's surprise given that Aeili had told her she expected to be away for a few tendays at least. Only those who were there at the time know what else was discussed under the safety of the Temple's roof.
A Prayer to a Star.
During the night, several people saw Aeili and Telia say a spontaneous prayer together, gazing up at the starry sky in the farmlands after the rituals of the fields and land. Mystra's star shone bright and Aeili appeared to be relieved after the words had been said.
A small note intended for "Priestess Aeili Azenci" is left at the temple.
A return address indicates that the correspondence originated from "Acolytes' Quarters, Candlekeep."
The Temple of Mystra has been relatively quiet of late, although regular adherents may be up to speed with plans by the Temple to take in one of the city's orphans. The effort to get it organised has been slow, but things are now beginning to take shape for the arrival of a new temple acolyte.
One of the temple priestesses, Aeili, has been rather reclusive of late however. She has made several journeys towards the south and seems to be actively searching for some kind of obscure magical lore. When she is in the city, most of her time is being spent in Halbazzer Drin's laboratory where it is rumoured she is nearing completion of a new spell, two years in development.
