Sometime overnight, a battle of brawn, wits and steely determination began between man and nature....or actually women and nature. Two feminine forms were spotted along the shores of the Beard, one a redhead wearing a most gods awful "lucky" hat and holding a fishing pole that seemed ready to break, the other a silver tressed half elf who held the redhead around the waist and was helping keep the laughing moontouched loon from being pulled into the water.
As dawn crested the skies overhead hours later, the battle came to an end when a smaller then normal shark...but still a fiercely battling shark!...beached itself on shore while the fisherwomen assisted said beaching by pulling it in even further. The redhead, shaking from muscle strain, marveled over the creature while the silver headed woman admonished her to stay way from the biting end. Bob, the local fisherman, ran over to help pull the beast further up shore and finished off the shark's death throes with a hook and a yank. Not long after, the two women, each holding part of the shark's tail, teleported off, their catch in tow.
Flyers appear all around the places. It might be a little close. But it's just a small event, still not unimportant to some. Everyone is invited to the next:

Freya has given the donations from the Bake Sale on the 30th of Marpenoth to the kitchen of the Ilmater temple. In the part of Baldur's Gate where one of the poorest folks live, she was spoke some friendly words to the priestess and gave her several bags that were collected that day- Even those who came later haven't been forgotten.
Also a list was kept by her this time. Eveyone who baught something or just donated or both, was noted. No matter how they donated, the organizers were grateful.
[parchment]Thank you!
For coming and giving. You're welcome anytime again.
After some recent developments, Osric makes a point of journeying to Ulgoth's Beard, only to travel a ways inland to a remote hut outside of town. He spends at least a week there every month, and often returns to the city in varying states of frustration, bemusement, and exhaustion.
Osric's journey is always accompanied by at least a few books, whose subject matter almost always concerns proper etiquette and decorum.
Locals would likely indicate that the hut is owned by a small-time hunter, who has until recently resided there with an ailing sister.
A woman in deep blue coat with raven hair is spied with a tall Half-Orc in fine garbs, entering the ongoing celebration and drama at The Last Anchor; she posts the following notice outside
*A sketch of The Imp and The Lord of Gold playing cards from the deck of Ric Yhondbe are rendered under the title of the notice*
Greetings and salutations! If you, anyone you know, has knowledge or possession of cards such as those rendered above, I implore you to contact my person at Candlekeep. I, Maurmeril Jvianin, Seeker, am leading a research project with the intent to record and preserve the knowledge of these cards and their use. With this in mind, I encourage any and all that have information to visit Candlekeep and exchange knowledge for knowledge – for donations of tomes containing knowledge – including allowing my person to copy said tome – and for donations of unique, individual cards – or allotting me time to sketch and study them – I will share what knowledge my research has provided thus far.
Please make note to exercise caution! These cards are known to disappear from perceived use, plays, and other actions with them. I recommend that you – or those you know – wrap the cards individually in cloth and refrain from handling them as playing cards. Tomes should be kept from the elements as much as possible, and preserved in their original state. I hope these words help preserve your find!
Word would slowly spread around the farms of Ulgoth's Beard region and those South of Baldur's Gate that over the course of a tenday or so now, many farm animals have gone missing through-out the night. Typically one by one and not en masse as if to avoid immediate suspicion. The farm animals taken would be medium to large in size, sheep, pigs, the occasional cow and even a horse or two.
---
Simultaneously, reports from beach goers say that remains of some animal carcasses are found washed ashore, bits of bone and fleshy fur, tangled up with wood and rope flotsam. Clear evidence of large teeth marks can be seen on the remains.
This does not pass unnoticed. Many turn out to be a few on closer inspection by Officials. An extra patrol is routinely seen around the farm lands. More worryingly perhaps some Sea going adventurers out of work patrol the shore line spoiling for a fight apparently on the promise of a reward. It is rumoured one of the animals belonged to a local rogue Dirk Welkent and he is not happy.
A reward of 500 gold is officially offered for any information leading to a conviction.
A ship slips quietly back into the waters off of Ulgoth's beard. Some of the crew is seen disembarking for the night to rest while others seem to collect supplies. A group of three are seen travelling to the Gate.
Rumors spread of a terrifying flying undead shark that has been promised to never again plague the coast's waters. Although proof might be offered, others might wonder or even dismiss the wild, adventerous and asinine tales offered to those who had turned an ear to listen.
Whatever the tales seem to be, the very same ship departs again the very next day.

A large group of very heavily armed men were seen going into the Last Anchor this afternoon. Passers by can tell that there were shouts and the sound of clashing steel a short while later.
After what most can only assume was some level of altercation, the heavily armed men left, though perhaps reduced in number by a few.
It's said that the Anchor closed down for a few hours afterwards and that the proprietors were seen now out and about in full combat kit. Also, it would appear that night two heavily armed swordswomen slept on the couches in the main room.
What happened exactly? It's not really clear... but it was unpleasant.

Rania might be seen wandering out on Ulgoth's of late, taking measurements on the beach and by the lake before scribbling notes in her journal. On occasion she mutters to herself before wandering off.
Lannia is well known about Ulgoth's Beard these days. She is seen making routine trips to the anchor, leaving massive quantities of food and taking a full pack with her on her way out. Ever a friendly sort, she visits the old woman next door, giving her some blueberry muffins and dusting some of the higher shelves for her.
If she should find someone passed out outside of the mermaid, she collects them up. She takes them inside and deposits them in a room, which she pays for, and then heads back to the Gate.
If she should run into Rania, she would ask what she's looking for as Lannia knows the lake and the beach very well. ((PM Sent))
Lannia Tannen - Bunnybow the vicious, scourge to tasty animals and talker to snarky spirit dogs.
Linela Fyar - Fey Bard.
Rania, in a rather chipper mood, would happily share what she's up to out there, though part of it might leave poor Lannia a bit flabbergasted and questioning the sanity of two Rania mentions...though likely she does that already! //PM sent!
