...because until those other pc's hit CL 30 they're going to be hurting going through some areas.
And before anyone even starts complaining about their unique low CL concept character - you chose to be a subpar caster, you should've built to be at least passable with no buffs.

And now that we have a 100% RCR XP refund fire sale going on at the moment...everyone can make sure their Toons are CL 30, immediately (if before, they were not).

Thankfully, the cap of CL to HD has been implemented, so unless a Toon is an Arch Mage or Hierophant or Blood Mage and receives Spell Power, there is that.

pvp based issues generally do not get balanced or there would be never ending complaints

if there is an issue and its related to grieving then something will likely get done

It is absolutely impossible to balance PvP and have the game continue to even remotely resemble D&D. It's just a completely wasted effort.

And this is an RP server. If you want to pwn people in PvP, I'm sure there are other servers for that. Always playing the best PvP build contributes nothing to RP or the story.

pvp often gets thought of yes, but it has little weight in balance decisions unless it has a possibility of grieving

being dispelled in pvp is not something that would carry weight because it is highly situational

being dispelled in pve is more important because certain lvl players are going to be in certain areas, and if you are the appropriate level for an area and you walk in fully buffed and get stripped of everything with a lesser dispel, then there is probably an issue

Does every rag-tag goblin, orc or giant tribe HAVE to have dispellers? I mean I'm all for dispel working as it should, but covering 90% of the PvE with dispel spawns is over the top.

This is indeed the core of the issue, yes. As I said earlier, the problem now isn't that people are easily dispelled (they should be!), it's that there are so many mobs casting dispels.

Hey, we here in the peanut gallery would like everyone to take a deep breath. Sorry to hear that the QC team does not consider all aspects of this game and/or consider aspects of this game impossible to consider. This is a RP server which includes PVP, if it did not, then perhaps there would be a significant portion of a dwindling community which would wish to reconsider their time associated with BGTSCC. Furthermore, considering PVP an aspect of this game does not make you mutually exclusive to RP and in fact, PVP might in fact help to further, or accentuate RP in many situations.

Let's not go swinging hammers in glass houses here.

You misunderstand what I mean. PvP balance shouldn't be a concern. It is an RP tool at best. The server would be much more enjoyable if people built characters around ideas of style and personality rather than being mechanically best.

I think we should let the D&D balance go away a little, D&D is balance is wayyy too different and doesn't translate well into a game like this, unless we are talking about Single-player here, Try to balance things a little even if it means moving away from the PnP stats and such, i think that should help a lot to end this fight "Meeles vs Casters". Also yeah reduce the amount of enemies with dispels in the server.

Everybody thinks it's sunny on the other side. Kestral was barely able to solo trolls and stone giants to level. Robin cannot level. Your warriors may be running quests to level, but wizards are not much different. It's not sunnier on the other side.

Dude, fighters are fine. I have leveled, and can continue to level solo, several non casting classes. And moreso, I helped spitball ideas for someone to make a BARBARIAN today, and that build is doing just fine with no UMD and no casting.

Will that barb build be decent in PVP as well? Yes, because it will literally be able to knock down mountains.

All that being said. PVP might not be a large concern in balance issues, but it CANNOT be a non-issue either. it is a part of the game, acting like it does not exist will cause more problems than it solves.
