Woot woot woot! Making a happy dance. What a disorganized team England is. France will be very different.
But still, Iceland does have an excellent team.

Re: Euro 2016
Footballers in England now know how the monks at Lindisfarne felt.
I was actually looking at a stronger iceland in this game, no longer advancement by penalty kicks.
England, well they tried beating the little guy and lost.
It happens.
Iceland are too awesome to dwell on myself wanting England to win this cup.
Smallest population among the countries still in the cup?
Who cares, heart go a long way and they showed it.
Go Iceland!
May they repeat the amazing win by Denmark back in the nineties, a cup Denmark werent even supposed to be in.
The sad fate of yugoslavia did make for something great that summer.
Edit: Anyone else notice the hail mary sign by the referee when it was over?

The statistics are uncomplete, where are the elf-spotters?

Now that my homeland team is out, am totally up for Island. That cheer from their fans, that was something epic.Nyeleni wrote: Oh I so do hope they go on making Euro history beating France.

Re: Euro 2016
For me the two weakest teams in the quarterfinals went logically to penalties. And I'm not really thrilled that Portugal is the winner.

Ouch, Vendor, I called it
. Although with a lot of help from the referee. There was at least one penalty not given to Belgium.

Re: Euro 2016
Today probably the real finale of the Euro16. For me the two teams who have consistently played on a high level.
Even France hasn't been that convincing imo.
And the worst referee of the tournament is at the helm: Kassai. Wow how this guy keeps getting occasions just befuddles me.

Re: Euro 2016
Agred, kassai is no doubt the bottom of the barrel when it comes to referees this tournament. A wonder he got another game.
I am calling Italy on this one. Are they better? No. They've had two good games and two bad ones. But it's Italy and the odds are against them. I read somewhere that apparently Germany haven't ever beaten them in a knockout game? I think the match will go to extra-time, or be decided by a last minute goal. Either way, Italy will score that one. The juventus defence is solid, the German one haven't conceded so far but have been shaky at times.
I just hope the Italians won't dive to get that 1-0 victory

Re: Euro 2016
Hm, indeed, they haven't lost in a tournament game: not just knock-out.
For me the deciding factor is, Italy doesn't have de Rossi. And Germany just lost Khedira. For me together with Kroos the most influential players of their teams.
Edit: And what a fight it is. On a high level. No defense is giving the attacking team options yet.
Take that to the few german jerks critizing Özil: "he is not a real german, he doesn't give it all".
He might have just shot Germany into the next round.
Unbelievable one of the best defenders doing that. Playing like a noob. Boateng, what a shame.

And so unexpected too! Italy dragging themselves there despite German supremacy
