C'mon, man. Who cares??? There is no true balance in our economy. More or less gold doesn't really affect anything. It's all time based. Right now, there is nothing stopping people with str based characters from picking up every little thing they find and getting fat stacks of banded mail gold. So it's already possible for some people. This would just make it possible for all people, without the need for another useless alt.

its also possible for some people to loot certain chests. it is also possible for some people to loot the FGK. there are lots of those.

C'mon man. Who cares?? sounds like you do. and sounds like you only care about some of these only some can loot options out there.

have fun and play your toon. not getting 25 banded mails in your life is not gonna make any difference to the sum of anything.

Egg Shen is making a point, that I support, in particular because I think it isn't the best situation to promote this pretty much OOC behavior of railroading players into a Loot Farming practice, just so they can afford stuff at the Epic NPC Merchant.

Obviously, one could not use Egg Shen's suggestion if the low end Loot was simply removed and replaced with equal value Coin. That saves a pocket merchant development!!!

So why not start with saying replace non-enchanted equipment in the loot table with a gold value? Copper rings become 10 gp, Banded Mail becomes 80 gp, Full Plate become 700 gp (or whatever)... +1 and +2 equipment has a place on this server so would hate to see it disappear, but the other stuff is true junk that is really only going to be converted to gold at vendors.

Come on, low end loot has its place and is useful for most new toons (,unless you mule your übergear to them. ;-))
Finding only coins or gems - removes any fun when looting a chest. :roll:

I agree, but would still rather see copper rings replaced with a few gold rather than see +1/+2 gear disappear.

The reason I didn't start with copper rings is because my empirical experience is +1/+2 items filling Epic CR areas.

If you want to promote a "convert all truly useless items in our particular economy to Coin," then I support you Chad, 110%.

Thing is, we all have our personal preference, and I realize as well if anything, it's going to be someone else other than me, making a change, and thus their preference will probably be what if anything is implemented.

For example, I'd rather find more nothing, literally nothing, with a greater chance of finding something of true value. In my opinion, it would make it seem my luck was more lucky when actually finding something, and, help to reduce in general the drowning-in-stuff the current environment experiences. I hate drowning in crap!! :lol:

But I understand that BGTSCC doesn't really need mo' betta lootz, but at the same time, it IS promoting Loot Farming as a way to gain wealth, a truly disconnected from reality thing, so that great "end game" gear can be acquired.

Furthermore, I do understand the argument that one can choose to grind or not, or both, and that player's choice reigns supreme. However, there really is not more than ONE choice being promoted for how to acquire wealth. Or, show me how Players acquire or can choose to acquire end game gear do it WITHOUT Loot Farming. Cause I'm pretty sure that by simply RPing my one Toon, a DM ain't gonna reward me with a full end game inventory.

I only say this in terms of what's expected...and you should know Players expect rewards. Honestly, they get pissy when they don't get any!

All that said, I'm really just asking for more choice of choices are being prescribed, as well, asking that these +1/+2 items are worth less in time/energy than pure Coin, and for Epic Areas to be kicking out these +1/+2 items, it really doesn't AT ALL balance out, risk vs reward.

I'm not sure what you mean. Or I think maybe you're misunderstanding my point, insofar as it relates to chad's post. I'm saying that the small amount of gold added to the coffers of people cashing in cheap junk for gold (assuming a pocket genie merchant) is negligible and not worth our concern.

For this particular issue, I think worrying about how much gold it adds to the pockets of people who spend 30+ hours per work playing this game and/or have mastered the art of looting is silly. They already make hundreds of thousands of gold per week. If a pocket genie makes those of us who spend 4 hours per week in game feel like we're getting somewhere financially, or makes us feel like we can just play a low str character without the need for some OOC mule pc, it's worth it. Because for the rich folk in game the proposed boost in coin is nothing.

Our economy is not so finely tuned that adding some additional coin to people's pockets is going to disrupt something. It's not. there's nothing to disrupt. There is no actual economy here. It will just allow, over the course of a long time, people to get better stuff. That's what the real concern is, right? So yeah, I agree, just play your toon and try not to worry about what other people have or how they get it. the gold from 25 banded mail might not mean much to you, but for my meager play time, it might help alleviate some frustration from the current MMO based grind we've created here.

Well, I'm not entirely sure the pocket merchant would cost more development time, based on comments about how daunting messing with the loot tables can be. But I was trying to come up with something that "caters to all playstyles," which seems to be the current goal for bgtscc.

Or, it will be this personal "pack mule." Then it really isn't a discussion of how much crap, or the weight of such crap, cause now everyone can pack that crap out!

It's still just piles and piles of crap. Crap sold for gold. Too bad it wasn't just gold in the first place!! :roll:

As far as the OP suggestion goes, I think it is a pretty simple no from everyone in "power". It is still the intention to release the pack horses at some point, which will allow the weak characters to drag some armors back to town, but you all will have to be patient while we still have issues with the database access.
