Rumours fly that fighting at Soubar has intensified, the bridge seeing nearly daily struggles as mortals clash with the devilkin. Recently a convoy with over twenty people guarding it came at an appropriate time. as the caravan made it's way to Soubar, a fierce conflict took place on the bridge.

It was during an early dawn that a halfling woman some might know as Hazel was crouched down in the dirt by the healing tent. In her hands she held two sticks which she drummed against the tent's canvas. It didn't take long for the priest within to emerge carrying sheathed blades, hair messy from sleep and dressed in undergarments - clearly having been woken up by the sound. His steps were quiet at first until he came upon the culprit, who he gave a perplexed and less than pleased look accompanied by words to match. Hazel didn't seem bothered at all, grinning widely. Only a few words were exchanged, Kazimir still unamused, before they headed into the tent. Some time later, Hazel was seen bolting out of it - though the observant might have gauged it was just an abundance of energy rather than something else behind her rush. The priest presumably just went back to sleep, as he wasn't seen again for some time.

3 prominent members of the Ebon Blades are seen around Soubar walls inspecting. For those who know of them they would recognize Michael, Alland and Briggitte, they spend a full working day doing this.

Blackrose could be seen vigorously inspecting the walls when not on the front lines. She would be looking for inconsistencies and defects. She would be carrying tools and instruments of a architect's.

What was becoming a much sought after, and entirely welcome sight, graced the Tradeway as it wound its hard pack path up the hill to Soubar. Golden Wheel mercenaries and merchants had arrived with much needed supplies for the Soubar war front. Lumber and other materials had arrived so Captain Greil Nightgale could enable his men and women to build defenses on the line, and hold back the increasing threat of the fiendish menace.

Jay Lewis of the Golden Wheel finished the caravan's route inside the yet-under-repair walls of Soubar. Eventually joined by Second Blade Mara of the Ebon Blades, who conducted a count and inventory of the delivered supplies.

Back at the front meanwhile, trenches and fire lines had begun to be dug up. Both in the Tradeway dirt before the Boareskyr Bridge and before the Ebon Blade's second division camp. Captain Nightgale, Lieutenant Dunn, and Rain Girl dug for the Ebon Blades. While other allies like Kathalae, Valkira, and summoned humanoids put to work began to dig up lines in the hard dirt. Jay eventually joined on part of the Golden Wheel.

On the other side of the shore, sickly fog lingered in wait.

The magus Kordren Ivatrix, alongside the armored fighter Astere Laroux were seen within Soubar after rumors swirled of their departure. The pair reoccupied their positions in the hay-strewn cots of the Winding Way Inn and lended aid to the war effort as they could.

On the opposite side of Soubar, reports of mysteriously clad fighters with exotic weaponry and a silent demeanor spread among the Northern Trade Way. They are said to simply appear from the mist to kill hostile creatures or observe travellers, disappearing as quickly as they came.

Rumors and postings that reach nefarious ears willing to trade in dead bodies, parts, and corpses also catch his attention. After several attempts to run off the hin by force aren't successful, he changes up his tactic.

At random times throughout the day, when he's not working at the Ebon Blade warfront, which directly overlooks the Boareskyr Bridge front isn't demanding his direct attention, he's watching for signs of those who come and go from the Winding Way Tavern inside of Soubar, or the local market area, with grizzly remains to trade.

Once struck, they revealed hollowed out pockets. Inside one of these, the group found a chess piece; a knight carved entirely from red birch. The binding solution used to keep the stone blocks together had been tampered with in a couple of locations as well.

DM Arrakeen wrote:With Alland and Brigitte present, the foreman questioned the workers, and all of them vehemently denied having anything to do with it. Together the group inspected the sabotaged parts carefully. The workers speculated that this could have only been done after each section was completed. A mason from another shift joined during the discussion and revealed that they found two more bags with the wrong component used to make the binding solution.
