As a merchant ship docks at the Baldurs Gate habor and the captain begins haggling over the docking fee, his men unload the cargo with a revitalized effort from the noise and sweet odour of fresh poured ale emerging from the nearby taverns. A slender figurine hooded and veiled in garments of a deep blue hue and carrying a faintly shimmering lantern in her hand is seen making her way of the ships deck, she pauses a moment as her feet are back on the mainland, gazing from side to side before raising her chin and gazing upwards at the buildings before her, she exhales a sigh and pulls the hood further down over her head again, vanishing into the streets of the city with a light skip and a soft melody on her lips.

A gnome dressed all in blue would be seen working around the Phoenix Company Lodge, digging holes of varying depth and placing samples of dirt into bottles; pouring bottles of water on the ground and then watching closely, an hour-glass in hand; and finally walking around the area with a large chain and a sextant, peering at the nearby hills.
Some would be mystified at this display, most would write it off as "Gnomes" with a shakes of the head.

Recently, those passing by Maltz' weapon shop overheard him discussing with another man the purchase of his entire stock of cold iron. While the entire conversation was not heard, the rumors circulating say that cold iron is known to be useful against certain creatures.

Some time later, a man in copper-colored armor and a red cloak was seen leaving the shop and heading to the eastern farmlands, a crate resting on his shoulder, and a blacksmith hammer hanging from his belt

In the East District of Baldur's Gate, blackened marks on the ground can be seen near the Year of the Crown War Memorial statue, a few steps out in the walkway towards Maltz' door. Rumour has it that a man shouted a few words, though exactly what varies between versions, before causing an explosion which singed one of the passersby and claimed his own life. Inquiries would produce the names of one or several of the following and place them at or near the scene shortly afterwards: Jane Mallore, Hayley (Aers), Wallace/James/Bob/Fenix, Cosimo Delucca, Adelaide van der Saer and Wendy Darius.

Recently, rumors have started to spread of a blacksmith, forging what looks to be a metal cage. Oddly, people also say that someone recently seen leaving Maltz' carrying a crate matches the description of the blacksmith. What the smith is forging, or the reason for it can only be speculated on at for the moment.

Getting off the boat, the scribe would pay the boatman extra, not for a quick journey; for vomiting on his deck. Stumbling out of the boat, the scribe would kiss the wooden planks of the docks district. Only to be disgusted by the smell of low tide.

The scribe would brush himself, smell of the rotting sea behind him; on his way towards the eastern district. Passing the gates, he would stand firm next to the bulletin board. Again, he would begin nailing a scroll on it for all to see.

All this before making his way to the eastern farmlands. There he can finally begin his trek south towards Amn.

A damsel clad in gleaming plated armor with shield and mace in hand, has been seen in the graveyard east from Baldurs Gate putting undead to rest of late. A show not unusual but for her focus, the undead seemed merely in the way. Her time was spent at the gravesites and tombs, in examination of headstones and crypts making notes in a book.

A middle-aged fellow, dressed well with decent manners and who was seemingly educated, was noted to be hanging around the Shelf of Many Books in Baldur's Gate for the last tenday. Said to wear expensive jewelry, including a prominent amulet bearing the Silver Chalice of Siamorphe, he was studying books of heraldry, land records, and other scrolls detailing the lineage and stories of local nobles of the past.

When not in the library, the man was a near-constant in any watering hole with live music and bawdy entertainment, frequently a patron of the Blushing Mermaid.

Many people attended the gala held at the Ducal Palace in Baldur's Gate.
It is said that at one point, a bold bard named Jarner Fynolt serenaded Grand Duchess Liia Jannath.

Those who spend enough time around the docks might come to hear that:

Aidan in preparation for his eventual plans of buy land to build a shipyard and shipwright office in the Baldur's Gate Docks, decides it's best to start getting to know the locals. He'd spend his free time meeting with any captain who doesn't mind socializing between shipments. He'd give a hand carrying cargo onto and off of ships without asking for a wage. He'd make his attempt to contact the Dock Master in hopes of better familiarizing himself with the man and his character.

By the evenings he'd spend time at the Blushing Mermaid listening for tales, rumors, and complaints of the working force. He's looking for anything that gives him an advantage when he finally comes into business. His overall goal is to make some friendships, a contact or two that might aid in his progress, but lastly to know whatever he can about the docks, and the town he's taken to as his home. Lastly if possibly, he'd like to hire a couple men on that can keep him informed of the ongoings when he's busy with other matters.

Prior to all of this, a couple weeks back he had some dealings with the North West Trade Company's dock workers who were disgruntled over six months back pay that hasn't been received. He'd attempt to speak with some of them about his plans to help the farmers repair, build, and harvest for the coming winter. In hopes to pay some of them for a days work in the effort, offering to be sure that the pay would be in their hands, even willing to give them a coin as incentive just for hearing him out.

He also, after explaining his intentions with Luke Darius, is invited to visit the fishing crew of the Darius Holding Company. Further openly discussing his desires to bring the Twilight Rose to port with plans to keep it a destination day and night, somewhere that folks might come for entertainment and rest.
