Re: Rumours of Baldur's Gate
*two men sit on a bench near the Elfsongtavern, the sun is shining, here and there a few clouds in the sky - a nice afternoon afterall. One man leans over to the other and says*
You won't believe what my bud just told me, he spoke of two half-orc warriors of a well-known and most-feared Clan, cleaning the tradeway from the "weak". *he starts to move his arms and gestures in an exaggerating manner* Armed with a deadly arsenal of gardening-tools they wipe every Brittlebone out of their way who doesn't obey their order to walk on the grass *he tries to change his voice to a steretypeorctone* - "road iz for strong"
*the other one tilts his head looking confused* Brittlebone?
It is said that only a tree of unknown sort had the courage to stand up to the two fearsome warriors and confronted them with their doing - He payed with his life.
What, a tree?
*nods approvingly*Wanna know the end of the story?
A 40-feet-tall talking rock witnessed the whole incident and stomped on the two.
Oh really?
Ya really!
*they give each other a shrug and continue to sit - enjoying the afternoon*
[[edit:typos and some words exchanged]]

Of late, numerous folks have mentioned encountering a woman merchant while traveling along the Tradeway and in the surrounding wilderness.

Rumor tells that numerous adventurers have seen a large Elder Earth Elemental romaing the Tradeway and the Cloakwood Forrest, impaticular, as if it is searching for something.
Not one piece of gossip says who...or what...only that the Elemental speaks with those it meets being overly curious.

Re: Rumours of Baldur's Gate
Several bats have been witnessed enchanting passer-by's on the trade way with all manner of spells. Some adventurers also claim attack by these same winged rats.
However, Bron Ferros appears to have befriended one which may be seen clinging on his shoulder or arm as he travels down the Trade Way. On occasion, the bat flutters off and casts harmless spells to non-threatening persons. To those that pass Bron and inquire about the winged creature, he states a link with the bat, similar to a mage's familiar. He also states that he intends to have Foggy and Elias have a look at the creature and perhaps divine its origin.
With that, Bron returns to the tower, the bat flutters about the sign outside or hanging from the eaves.

Posted on the door of the Tower:
Now the weave master have pets that wander around casting unknown spells on unsuspecting people for no reason than their own ammusment. How very unlawful and criminal of you.
Very sad that those whom say there hunt those that misuse magic, now are the ones mis-useing it themselves.
Guess this form of entertainment outweights their actual mandate of the guild to go after all the necromancers, under darkers, warlocks , devils and demons, and people mis-using magic that plauge the tradeways of late.
The wardens have now become the criminals!

On a patrol Barvok see's said note and wonders, why don't people just use the postal office for a place like that? Surely a few gold pieces isn't that much to fret over...

Re: Rumours of Baldur's Gate
A Rumor spreads that undead were spotted near the Merchant Camp as a little girl was seen sobbing crying for her mommy.
A group of adventurers was heard to have seen the girl and hear her crys for help and later...a laugh that was ancient and evil that came from her sweet and pallid face....
A large ball of red light was seen to pass over the farmlands toward the Fields of the Dead as farm animals bellowed in fear and fright...just before the little girl dissappeared...she spoke of more fun to come...more games to be had because Mr. Bones had been killed...and she no longer had anyone to play with.......

Re: Rumours of Baldur's Gate
A Rumor spreads across the city of Baldurs Gate of a Portal that has appeared in the Farmlands in the dead of night.
The Portal sits near the Bridge and shows no current activity...except for an audiable thrum that can be heard for a mile around....
Those that pass by the Portal swear they heard a barely audiable giggle of what sounds like a little girl...eminating from within.
For now, the Portal just sits...
[[The Portal isn't there yet, I'm gonna be running another event tonight after I get home from work and get settled and figure out how to make one...

Re: Rumours of Baldur's Gate
Rumor spins that a new Gnomish merchant, Sam the Schister, had a dagger thrown at his head by a hooded Hin...
Customer's near by heard the two arguing about him being on her 'turf' and when he called her a wench...crossbowmen attacked the Merchant.
After the battle, the Hin dissappeared after leaving a pendant the adventurers didn't recoginize.
Some say the Gnome had a worried looked on his face and hurridly packed his wares and took off...saying he'd be back and promising a 10 thousand coin reward for her head...he thanked the adventurers, gave them some junk for their trouble....
Some say he didn't sound so sure and some say he was saying things to the air about him...something to the effect of...
"I git tha point..."
Or.
"Messenge understood."

Re: Rumours of Baldur's Gate
A couple of days ago a few citizens on their morning walks claimed to have seen two small women carry the bodies of children to the temple of Ilmater. One of these women, a mere girl in a tunic emblazoned with the seal of Neverwinter could barely contain her tears. The other woman who was wearing a curious red cowl tried to calm her with words in a peculiar accent. As they walked, both cursed the evils of drow and voiced their intent to punish the one who had harmed the children.
The woman wearing the cowl was later seen arguing her right to wear it with a Fist enforcer. After much pleading and a volontary fine, the woman quickly left, clearly distressed. Why someone would be so adamant about keeping a cowl on remains a subject of discussion. Excessive vanity, advanced leprosy or something much worse?

Dream on.

Re: Rumours of Baldur's Gate
The group known as the Hoarders of the Rods have reportedly been seen walking about the city without the familiar red-cloaked adventurer leading them. Some have also said that a rough-spoken and gruff man has made several appearances to bark out orders to the group before departing shortly thereafter.

Rumors speak of the return of "Raldring the Red". Many citizens are confused, as Raldring the Red was said to have been executed according to the Baldur's Gate Gazette. The truth is soon found out though, that the Raldring the Red that was executed was a copy cat of the real Raldring the Red.

Re: Rumours of Baldur's Gate
Rumors swirl of the return of Foinus Ironfaar.
He was seen exiting a ship at the Docks of Balurs Gate; in full plate mail, his helm tucked under one arm.
He spoke to no one and only nodded with those who dared to meet his gaze.
He was seen carry a bag over one shoulder and speaking with a local wood right..purchasing posts, a mallet, and signage.

Re: Rumours of Baldur's Gate
Travelers report stories of unnatural twisted creatures that somewhat resemble women. Apparently they are wandering the Coast searching for someone.
The stories of them vary greatly, and each time, a different name is used for the one they search, so we cannot be certain what is true. Some of the names floating about are "He Who Sings Dirges," "The Lady's Black Glove," "The Dark Nightmare," and "The Hollow One."
Regardless, everyone is agreed that these creatures are both unpredictable and angry, so exercise causion.
