Rumors of Ulgoths Beard

The blue Tiefling known who would address himself as "Percy" seems to be sitting at a table in the bearded mermaid with a drink across the way and one in his hand, ready to talk with Captain Vala Reyer

Late this evening a dark female figure moves along the edge of town. It meanders a while, masked and cloaked, though clearly not versed in being sneaky. The figure takes a potion and melts into the air. For those that can see invisible figures, the masked woman walks a time and then vanishes into a whirlwind of leaves.

A blue gray Tiefling was seen leaving the region to Blauders Gate port the other night. After a night's stay over in the Baulders Gate region, he would be seen returning to Ulgoths Beard the next day after to be witnessed at The Bearded Mermaid for a drink or two and seems to be staying the night.

A small shipment of black cherries is delivered to The Last Anchor daily. Lannia seems to horde them away almost immediately, and is seen popping them in her mouth as soon as they arrive.

A blue gray Tieflilng at the Bearded Mermaid tavern lets some of the regular patrons know that he's looking for an "Ronja" and if they see this "Ronja", and she asks, then tell her that a "Percy" is looking for her, and to give a detailed description of what he looks like to her to make it easier. Percy waits patently in the tavern, and near by areas meanwhile.

The blue gray thiefling is informed that a Ronja Leonhart does live upstairs in the Bearded Mermaid. He is asked to kick back a moment while a barmaid is sent up the stairs to inform her of his being there. . . "She'll be down in a short moment!" The barmaid shouts over the loud and rowdy patrons to him. Not too long after the redhead skips down the stairs, seemingly in a fine mood. She walks over to the thiefling with a smile and a hand extended in greeting. (( PM sent ))

The resident shamaness comes home to the Last Anchor in Ulgoth's in a hurry, armed and armored from head to toe. A short time later other armed adventurers arrive and they depart.

They are gone for some time. They return and Lannia is covered in blood, looking a bit pale. There is a large set of gashes in her ceremonial armor where twin blades tried to cut her in half. The group has with them a despondent and distant man, and are carrying another who is unconscious.

The group is tense and looks upset with the Shamaness. She makes no attempts to deflect their ill tempers, baring it with a happy smile. The group disappears into the Anchor and soon messengers are seen running out of the Anchor in several directions.

The warrior who also is one of the proprietors of the Last Anchor also is seen departing with a large group of armed folk right around the same time as Lannia.

This group steps outside and disappears into a teleport to who knows where.

They return the morning after Lannia's group does, looking a bit battle-worn but in good spirits.

Let it be known that the Last Anchor is going through some remodeling and internal expansion!

The cellar has been expanded and now, for a small fee, is available for storage of items of almost any nature. As long as they're not illegal of course! Just speak to Swabbie and he'll set you right up!

Our menu has also expanded, both food wise and drink wise! And will continue to do so in the near future as ability allows!

Currently, the Sauna is closed for minor repairs and maintenance, but will be reopen soon.

Late last night, a group of people were seen standing in a consecrated strip of beach, witnessing the joining of two into the bonds of matrimony.

The bride, a barefooted redhead, the groom, a golden eyed, raven haired librarian, stood hand in hand while their friends watched the two exchange vows.

A student of the eastern blades...
The leader of the Northern Watch...
An impossibly tall man of few words and a cigar addiction..
A druid with fire in his blood...
and a warrior of Tempus, known locally as one half of the couple that owns the renowned Last Anchor all came together to watch as the leader of the temple of Mystra performed the ceremony that made two long time friends man and wife.

A peach blonde dame is seen wading into the water off of Ulgoth's Beard. She dives several times each time coming up for air. After a good fair number of tries she eventually gives in and drinks a water breathing potion. The next time she is under, she is gone for a while coming up coughing for air as the potion wears off. Once the coughing fit is over, the lady smiles triumphantly as she looks at the smaller sized gold contraption in her hands. She stores it away in a bag and walks over to catch a rowboat to her ship, leaving wet footprints in the sand as she goes.

The festival of Greengrass fast approaches!

Join us at The Last Anchor the 29th of this month to celebrate!

Furniture will be moved to create a dance floor in the lower hall! The upper parlor will be made available for those who prefer a more intimate setting! Provided renovations are completed, the Sauna will be open to all guests. (Please note that the suites are occupied at this time.)

Special menus will be prepared!

In the small cemetery that residents of Ulgoth's Beard use, there is a small ceremony as a man is buried. The proprietors of the Last Anchor are among the few who attend and it is said that they paid for the site, the casket, and an elaborate headstone for the deceased. It is also spoken by the locals that this was a man that spent several days at the Anchor being cared for, apparently very ill.

The headstone reads:

A man known only as Don.
His last act was to try to protect that which was important to him.
We don't know where he came from, or who else may mourn him. It is hoped both they and he find peace.
In the end, all that matters is this:

He was our family.

He was our hero.

May it always be known as thus.

Word easily travels from the Anchor after the Greengrass party. The party seemed to be a smashing success with a large number of people in attendance, at least three bards playing songs, a fair amount of dancing... and something about a pebble-throwing war in which a crazy-fast Rashemi was the ultimate victor.

The proprietors were seen leaving the Anchor after the guest had departed and the moved furniture was replaced. They took a ferry to the Gate and then were seen returning a couple hours later before retiring for the evening

Over the last few days the Last Anchor has been fairly busy.

While one of the proprietors, Derik Ranloss, went out to meet the advancing troll armies in battle, the other proprietor, Lannia Ranloss, was seen busying herself around the Anchor itself.

The business opened up its doors to those that came into Ulgoth's Beard for the refugees coming to town due to the Troll advance towards the farmlands and Baldur's Gate.

Most of these refugees were folk who fled before the battles took, wanting to make sure they were out of harm's way. Fortunately, because the Flaming Fist positions successfully held back the portion of the Troll army that marched on Baldur's Gate and its territories, the number of refugees and wounded that arrived after the battles had begun were few and mostly folk from lands on the outskirts of the battle.

The Ranlosses hired some extra help from the townfolk of Ulgoth's Beard to help out as staff during those days, though now most everyone has started to trickle homeward again.
