Camp was made for some days, as the Windspells took care of their wounds and reevaluated their supplies, after the Xvart caravan adventure. But as some days wore on, the group split for reasons between further preparation and distraction.

On the final morning, the duo Windspells of Caed and Garlic, deemed the situation so that to move forward was best, leaving instruction and care to lead forth the others to find their track. After small skirmishes with Wyverns and many rolling hills trekked, the duo arrived at where their maps pointed a mark: the ruins of Ulcaster. It was a sight to be seen, and even from afar, the Windspells could appreciate what once must have been an admirable edifice.

The ruins gave up an entrance easy enough...maybe even too easy, for the Windspells questioned from the start how such ruins would so easily be opened to entry. Taking advantage of this, the Windspells made way below, soon discovering many signs of "life" still in these ruins, and secrets that slowly revealed themselves after dedicated observation.

A great surprise awaited the duo, who soon stood within a quite manicured library, tables arranged and even private studies maintained. It was almost as if the ruins still remained active, and the Windspells then felt the need to stay on extra guard to what may confront them...at any moment.

And that moment did arrive, though far from what they expected: at a point, a rat of some determination jumped form the shelves of book, scattering many a tome, and attacked the taken-by-utter-surprise Garlic Rana...though the gnome was able to defend himself, laying the rat soon to the floor. But what was first thought as a random attack, soon became evident a sign that the Winds of Fate blew even deep within Ulcaster's Ruins. For the pile of tomes disturbed by the mad book rat, revealed a copy of a text detailing gems and traders of planer wares, all information duly sought for some weeks by the Windspells, now acquired by ancient revelation.

And the Windspells did thus revel in the moment, thinking the signs where in there total favor. With this, they pressed on, but...as the fates often have it, the duo ran afoul of a acrid odor and soon taxing lower level environment, pushing they back in their progress, even further upward until they could locate a safe place for yet another camp.

Oh, how the duo realized they needed they compatriots with them, especially Batruc, who had spoken of his previous adventure within the ruins, and his knowledge of what dangers lay within. Knowing the safety in numbers, and missing their compatriots company, the duo set to wait in hope that their own trail would be soon tracked, and the four could reunite, and attempt once again to delve deeper.

Not leaving too much to chance, Garlic encouraged Caed to make use of the gift of a contact medallion, to speak thoughts directly to both Batruc and William, so that they could sooner heed the call, than later.....

Between the Past and the Present....Chapter IV, Scene III...Interlude

Starring: Garlic Rana, Caed Wynter-Rose

Special Guests: the NPCs....

The Windspell duo of Garlic Rana and Caed Wynter-Rose were seen and heard having a lively conversation over issues of magic, Dead Magic, the city of Saerloon and the "...some matters at hand" within the Blade & Stars Inn, warmed by the ever-eternal fireplace.

Abruptly, they stood and marched about the Inn, then...they abruptly left with conviction upon their faces.

Rumor has it that they some-time-shortly arrive—again...—at the revered Candlekeep, and were known to be—again...—requesting audience with Edelgarde, of said Candlekeep.

Settling into the Inn with the castle walls, they waited for their next moment.

Between the Past and the Present....Chapter VI, Scene I...Recruitments

Starring: Garlic Rana, Caed Wynter-Rose

Special Guests: Nadine, Cleric of Selune; the mercenary Aron; Thok the Half-Orc; ...and various others

Image

The Windspell duo of Garlic Rana and Caed Wynter-Rose set out from the Blade & Stars with a direct goal in mind: Recruitment of others, to the cause of adventuring, that binds together the Windspells.

After canvasing the Wide for candidates, the duo stumbled upon a Cleric of Sune, Nadine, who was wisely protecting herself in the rain with an umbrella generously donated by a local mercenary, named Aron. The Windspells attempted their pitch upon the two others, and...there was some interest. Perhaps later, more would be known, as the Sunite and the mercenary soon left for a ship-based travel.

Later, in the Outer City lands, the two Windspells were joined by the current third member, Batruc, who had been off on adventures of his own for the recent times, but was gladly welcomed back to the fold. At this same time, the three Windspells met with Thok, a bulky Half-Orc, who had no good words for Necromancers. Luckily, the Windspells did not deal in such goings on, and with some interest Thok spoke of his interest in having traveling companions once again.

As with all meetings, the Windspells left each person with the information that the Blade & Stars Inn was where the guild resides when returned to the gate, for selling bounty and for well-deserved rest.

Between the Past and the Present....Chapter IV, Scene III...Interlude the Second

Starring: Garlic Rana, Caed Wynter-Rose

Special Guests: Edelgarde; a bit of Yuri; and others

The Windspells make contact with Edelgarde, who generously always makes herself available to their causes. In this instance, the duo request access to maps and more, related to the city of Saerloon. It is said that the Windspells wish to travel in haste, using the method of teleportation, yet...no Windspell has been there—seeking a map and first-hand descriptions from the Library, may well allow them an attempt. Edelgarde bolsters their desire to risk such, be explaining her own past successes with the actions the Windspells now engage in.

Once the maps have been ordered and Edelgarde excuses herself, while also leaving the duo with two volumes on Dead Magic and actions to solve such occurances written by Tiawyn the Bard, Caed and Garlic retire to the Inn. They make a decision, and that is to contact the Master Mage of Saerloon again, through a Sending via the Medallion Garlic gifted to Caed.

Within the quite of his room, Caed concentrates on the name
Gearol Mizrid, and begins his message:

Master Mizrid...the Windspells prepare to teleport to you, after research. We have a chance to bring others well prepared, to aid you. Do you accept?
