I do feel it's necessary for me to point out that I have not personally experienced the creepy ERP propositions on this server- I know it likely happens, and that's a damn shame, but it's not happened to me here, which is a large part of why I stick around. My own personal experiences were from past servers, and while I have seen some super creepy bidnezz involving all races, the nature of Drow lore means that nine times out of ten, the vast majority of ick factor came from Drow players.

That being said, my point was that the Drow are, by lore and by existing fiction, heavily sexualized in a manner I find against my taste. While I personally really dig political RP and the back and forth of power struggles- there is and will always be just an unpleasant undercurrent of Drow culture as established by their lore- that I simply find un-enjoyable. The reason I'm not mentioning any of the other races of the UD is because I literally have zero interest in them- even more so than Drow.

When you couple that with the stifling and frankly boring nature of the Underdark as a physical setting (tunnel, tunnel, tunnel, oh look- some glowing mushrooms, tunnel, tunnel), my own reaction to the UD actually more than just a lack of interest, it's an active dislike.

Also? Drommon is awful. Mixing words of another language into your communication is literally the foreigner trying to communicate in a language he doesn't fully understand, and is struggling with it. It works if that's your character concept, and only then.

Honestly, The Bloody Darkness! Even when playing a PC with dark or low light-vision the glare that kicks off my monitor is blinding in the underdark.

For darkness I have an override.

Enjoy!

Honestly we should have that Darkvision mod just be added onto the server by default.

The custom override I posted earlier does not remove darkvision circle on the ground. Only makes darkvision light brighter and of different color.

The version used by hoihe, however, messes the the indicator ups, and also increases torch brightness to eleven.\

And yeah, nwnvalut version shoudln't be included by default because of this.

I only use the darkvision override, not the torch override, I didn't like it.

Notepad. Just save as .sef rather than .txt

In my opinion, it's the wrong way to go about it.

I'd open a different thread, called "What prompted you to create and play a Main UD character"?

That, of course, if you wish to attract more people instead of scaring them away.

I wanted to make a silly 'weaboo' character, and in the underdark, no one can see me play it!
