Rumor spreads yet again around the area close to Greenest about mercenary type folk approaching the town asking questions about who comes and goes from the town. Some are more subtle than others - some ruder too. Their stays however are never long and usually a day or two. Commoners in the town would state their pack horses resemble the gear of one whose traveled some distance. One similarity that stood out among a majority of these travelers was their use of Amnian common and slang. Other than that.... just travelers on the go...

Whatever the reactions the residents of Greenest had upon hearing of a bounty placed upon 'their' druidess and her missing mate, were unknown to Iolanna. Surely one at least had given up to a bounty hunter the approximate location of her glade. He was found a day later, tangled up in vines after having been turned around and misdirected on his path.

After that day however the druidess was rarely seen around her home. Murders of crows were more common, keeping an eye on her domain and glade. If spotted, she'd be gone an instant later, literally vanishing into the trees.

Rumours say she would not have gone far, though, and abandoned her home; more than likely, she hid deep within the Reaching Woods, letting its deadly creatures be her unwitting guards against the bounty hunters.

Any wanted posters that appear in Greenest are quickly torn down by the resident Luckbringer. Solomon sees the charges levied on his friends and shakes his head in disbelief, “Murder.” He reads to himself from a torn up piece of parchment.

Solomon would spend time talking to the local populace, reminding to them the things that Iolanna and Aiden have done to protect the hamlet. Pleading to them to help protect the two from any outside hunters that come to call. Asking of the residents to give donations of food and supplies to leave for them to gather.

“We must protect our own, when the wolves come to call. We know these charges are false. Murderers, they are not. I beg of you to do your part in protecting those that have dedicated themselves to protecting you. With a little love and a fair amount of Luck, we will weather this storm. Luck be with you all, in these trying times.”

The Luckbringer would offer sermon and personal blessing to those that ask. Laying the golden coin he wears around his neck upon their forehead while whispering prayer to Lady Luck.

A strange sight; the Druid of Greenest leaves a small and very heavy chest in the custody of the Rocky Creek trade company, along with a tip. She asks it be held for a man named Gaius, who would arrive the next day for its collection.

"Of course, Iolanna. It will remain safe with us until Gaius comes to collect."

Solomon would accept the chest, having a few workers carry it back to the private office for safe keeping.

A rumor may sprout.. a small group of visitors were greeted and welcomed into the Lucky Coin in Greenest. Not at all unusual for the company, but this was a hand full of salty looking sea-folk. Any citizens present in the inn would note that they were all ushered upstairs and into the private portion of Hammer Hall, home of Rocky Creek Trade Company.

In recent days, a saffron-and-jade garbed trader can be noted offloading casks of liquer and crates of bottles into the cellar of the Hammer Hall in Greenest. While her remarkably nonchalant horse is also laiden with numerous traps and a portable camp kitchen, these cargo pieces in particular are labeled as "Sayushi's Stingwing Special Reserve". Inquiries would quickly reveal that the liquor within is a potent craft-brewed recipe of Wyverntail Whisky, and the culinarian is looking forwards to selling her product at a premium following the recent decline in the wyvern populations.

Wyvern sauce

A tiefling with blonde hair approaches the tavern to inquire about the spicy wyvern sauce and it's availability in these trying times in which, rumors say, that the population of local wyverns was culled by adventurers.

As the rays of the morning sun broke through the trees, a pair of archers work their way through the soggy forest floor. Drops of melting frost cascaded into puddles, as morning birds carried their song from branch to branch. This chorus of sound created a dissonant melody that resonated through the foliage and into the canopy above.

The pair would stop from time to time as they traveled along the tree line, small conversations held between the two before moving on. Only a few steps taken, before one would kneel and the other would shadow beside. Hushed whispers shared between the archers, before a hunter would move off, the other close behind. This would continue, one leading for a stretch, then the other taking point.

“Just over the ridge, there.” From a crouched position he explained to his companion, “Two. I will take one, you the other. You ready?” His voice was kept at barely a whisper, his hawk-like eyes trained on their quarry.

The other would nod her head to him and reply, “Yes, Ruban.” Her voice held low as she nocked an arrow and readied for the fight.

They both crept closer to the two gnolls as the larger of the two barked and growled at it's smaller lackey. Sharp teeth gnashed together and spit flew from it's mouth as it snarled in it's gnollish dialect.

THWAP! THWAP! THWAP! Three arrows land in rapid succession, center mass on the larger of the two, it's tirade cut short as it's heart took it's last beat.

THWAP! THWAP! She let two arrows loose from her bow, each finding purchase on the lackey as it stood shocked watching it's superior in it's final death throes. One arrow sunk deep, center mass and the other penetrated the gnolls mouth, extending through the back of it's skull. Like a switch was flipped, it fell to the ground limp.

Looking over the bodies of the gnolls dispatched, they pocket a few coin, no doubt claimed from others that walked the Uldoon Trail. Satisfied they had salvaged anything valuable, the two archers made off towards Greenest. Both in need of a meal and rest, and in the tiny hamlet, they found it.

On the 18th of Alturiak, a warband of elves fought their way through the Trail, where the peace of the land was disturbed by the blight of the undead. The local wildlife fled, as the rotting army seemingly aimlessly wandered through the fields, except of two encounters, where the elves intercepted and successfully crushed a bigger group of the walking dead, that led by a lich. The incident was reported to the officials of Greenest, adding that no signs were found about where the undead came from, but the lich was at least banished - for now.

There was a showdown on the Uldoon Trail, the eve of Alturiak 21st.

On one side were four sporting silver badges depicting a barren tree. On the other, a drow and an elf.

The mercenaries came out the victor but after that details vary far and wide. With rumors knights came to the rescue of the drow, the elf, or were merely bystanders to what took place next. Some say one of the knights attacked the four but the other abstained. Others still speak of the cruel treatment of one of the victims, while some disagree and say wounds were tended, or if anyone cared if a drow was mistreated?

Most versions of the telling agree that at the end of it all there was a flash of bright light, before the drow was taken from the scene by forces speculated.

But not even a god could make people love a drow, and the mercenaries that departed the field were damn vocal about that.

A notice appears in Greenest.
Seeking able hunters and trackers!

During the last few moons, our rangers reported an occasional, strange shift in the monster population, even with reoccurring undead sightings in the neighboring regions of the Glimmerwood (or known as Woods of Sharp Teeth).

Here, I am looking for willing and able adventures - without any criminal record - to investigate and report any significant changes in the monster or undead population in the wider surrounding areas of the Glimmerwood.

Your efforts will be duly appreciated.
If interested, look for Syndreth Fieryfey of Doron Amar.
Hidden: show
((( This is a quest like thingy, based on DM Winter's reoccurring spawn change events. Reporting of the new event occurrences will bring a gold reward, and continuation will depend on what the RP dictates.)))

DM Spartacus wrote: Wed May 04, 2022 10:23 am A second rare recipe credited to Hill Ramsi was uncovered somewhere on the coast recently however rumour has it this was promptly lost in an ambush in the Serpent Hills. A later search among the hills suggested some adventurers may have removed it.
For some days now, after having personally received the first rumor from her colleague Blunt the Blacksmith, the transient tavernkeep Sayushi Furuki has been searching for further news on the recipies. Plying both her patrons to the Lucky Coin as well as acquaintances across the Sword Coast, she is apparently offering a complementary meal for useful information, and her personal culinary experience in the final preparation should anyone some forth with the recipie itself.

Should either offer be insufficient, she is quick to remind that negotiations are always welcomed.
