Result:server resets

Observed: 3 times in a row.


I asked Charraj why does this keep happening.. his response:

"Because Ao hates you."

Server went down when I wrote *throws a dragon at Ao*

heh it resets itself when he sees you around... hilarious

hmmmm..... would also explain all the server crashes

server crash/reset. so immersion breaking

I wish this would get a release date.

Okay, now I just finished laughing for like 10 minutes in a row.

That's the most BADLUCK I had on nwn2 in all my time here.

So... the context.

Since a few months I'm trying to come back once in a while. And each time, I play a little (it counts in minutes, really..), and then I quit, and I try again a few months later. Trying to give a spark to an old flame here that doesn't seem to want to burn again.

In the process, I rcred a level 30 character who became lvl 20. I played him a little, stopped. Tried to come back, rcred into another character, became lvl 13-14. Same thing, tried to come back perhaps a month ago, rcred to like lvl 9. I didn't play this character more than an hour.

So, this time I create this character. I then log on my other character, who owns the very LITTLE things I possess (like, a full plate +3 and a ring of the commander, that's pretty much it, yes I don't even own 10k to my name even if I'm an oldie).

There's no one I know online (there was Charraj, but I didn't want to annoy him with it, since he helped me the last time ), and there's one AFK in the nexus. So.. I put all my little stuff behind Mystra, a bit hidden. Someone logs, and stands in front of Mystra, so I send her a tell, to see if she could just watch the stuff while I swap characters.




What were the chances that I had logged after a server reset warning? Oh god.

I think it's life sending me a message: Stop trying, Passi. STOP!

What you need to do is try out different character concepts until something sticks, and is fun to play.

And you could ask Luna to restore the last backup.

Nah, that gear isn't important. And now I can say that I have absolutly nothing.

For the character concepts, it's what I've been trying as I said. But after Randy I couldn't see a soul in any character I made like I did with my old main. Might be for the best.

Kind of the same problem with Quin Waynn... But the thing is, a soul grows with time. Hence, with my latest character, Kromvar the Unarmored, the actual gameplay of that character is fun. From role-playing perspective; I am still figuring out who he is.

So perhaps, to have a new character, you must first find a character that is 'fun to play?' I am not saying it has to be something mechanically weak, strong, or somewhere-inbetween. But for me, sneaking around as a huge naked man, emptying pockets, giving awkward stares, collecting bunch of scrolls, books, and the like... is fun.

Or you can also do what I do with the whole Dacino stuff.

Since I really loved the RP of the original Hoihe Dacino, I've made an entire list of values and stuff (Dacino's internal duty) which I base all my Dacino characters on.

There are also some fluff stuff: If the race of the Dacino incarnation can grow a mustache, he must grow a mustache. No human male Dacino without a mustache may exist unless it was forcefully removed and can grow back [Now that I think of it in Mabinogi I might as well have made a male human Dacino and say that he keeps burning it off during experiments. Oh well..]

You could find the essence of the Randal RP, translate it into some "values" either IC or OOC and then build on them. It's quite possible to create a new, unique character while the RP still reminds you of your favorite.

And it can be done trans-universes. There is a sci-fi, Star Wars Hoihe from the original Trilogy timeline.. there is a Forgotten Realms DnD 3.5 Hoihe, there is a Pathfinder 3.5 Dacino (Not a Hoihe, just a Dacino), there is an Eberron Dacino, There is an entire army of Dacino in 150 ABY Star Wars timeline [Yes.. an entire army of Dacino], There is an Erinn (Mabinogi) Dacino too.

And the majority of them have the same RP in the essence while on the outside, were it not for the nametag, nobody would guess that the character was made after another Dacino. [I have a Lawful Evil version of the whole Dacino ideal stuff yet the RP's essence remains the same. The only limiting factor is that I can't make chaotic evil or chaotic neutral Dacino. Chaotic neutral and chaotic good work though.


Do try the Hoihe's approach to playing in multiple universes while still keeping his favorite character to Roleplay in his characters more or less unnoticeably.


This can help with a lack of character ideas.

Randall was a womaniser cut-throat, right? There are lots of womaniser Cut-throats. You've got one essence down. He was also "loved" by the Fist. That is easy to transplant as well. 2 essences that are rather easy to transplant found already. I don't know Randall enough to properly give you stuff to save.

Could the problem be that Randal was already so many characters? The original male Randal, the female Randallonna, the dwarven Randalfaar, etc. I agree with Passi... I don't think he's got another character in him!

It got even better when people were going "Elvish man/woman". Especially when Elvish woman.

I don't want to visualize the image I've got when I combined an image of Elvis Pressley with that of a woman..
