A young tiefling shyly enters the temple of Tyr, walking quietly up to the front row of pews. She sits down and bows her head. Softly she begins to speak.

"Um...Tyr. Oh, I've never done this before." She blushes and keeps her eyes on the floor, as if the statue of the God of Justice had eyes to watch her.

"I want to be one of your Paladins...if you'll have me. I will be good, and just, and kind to everyone. I will study hard to learn the law, and how to make it better. I will learn to be strong so that I can defend the weak, and fight the unjust."

She takes a breath, having spoken all of that so fast and nervously she forgot to breathe.

"So...I guess that's it. I will come back tomorrow and talk to you again."

Triel enters the temple of Tyr again. Her eyes are red and her face is streaked with tears. She walks slowly to the front pew and after studying the face of Tyr at the head of the sanctuary, she bows her head and begins to softly pray.

"Hi, it's me again"

She takes a shaky breath, sniffling and wiping her eyes.

"I was hoping I could ask a favor."

Now she looks up at the statue, the pleading can be seen in her eyes.

"I have a friend, Naomi. She is very special to me."

Tears fall openly from her eyes onto her clasped hands.

"She had to leave on a long journey. C-can you w-walk with h-her?"

She wipes her face again.

"I know I'm n-not a knight y-yet, b-but I was h-hoping just this once y-you c-could make an exception."

She takes a shaky breath and wipes her nose on her sleeve.

"Well...that's all then. I'll come back tomorrow."

Triel enters the Temple of Tyr in the morning again, taking a seat near the front. She bows her head over her folded hands.

"It's me again Tyr. I'm here because I need your guidance."

"Most people here are either nice to me or they are not. I can handle the mean people. I am getting used to it."

At this she nods her head firmly.

"I met a woman the other day that was different. She wasn't mean, but she doesn't like people...tieflings like me."

"I want her to like me, but I don't want to make it worse. I know you are busy, but a little strength and wisdom would be appreciated, so I can show her my true self."

"Um, thank you. I will come back tomorrow."

Triel enters the Temple of Tyr, and sees a scribe coming toward her very quickly. He has a letter in his hand, addressed to Triel. The smiles, and accepts the letter with thanks. Sitting down to read it slowly a wave of happiness washes over her. She exclaims in surprise and glee, but blushes and quickly covers it, realizing she is in the sanctuary of a Temple.

She packs the letter away with the tattered letters from her mother, bows her head over her hands, and begins to pray.

"Hi, it's me again Tyr."

"Thank you so much for accepting me, I can feel your hand on my shoulder, and your light in my heart."

"I will do my best to learn all I can about justice, and teach others what you have shown me."

"Oh, and forgive the guard who was harsh with me the other day. He has not had time to change his heart. I do not blame him for his words."

"Thank you again Tyr. I will come back tomorrow."

Shortly after finishing her prayers the head priest ask her if she has come for services. After nodding and saying she tries to pray every day the priest mentions he wished every follower was as devoted. He then asks her to help him with the task of cleaning the alter, since the curator is ill. She readily agrees to help and they had to the inner sanctum.

Once there she helps hold offerings while he cleans the alter. They talk of Tyr, and how she feels about His teachings. They speak about not becoming a zealot, and being true to the justice of Tyr. After cleaning he leaves her to a final prayer to Tyr. She looks at the statue for a moment before remembering she meant to leave the rest of her money at the Temple. She pulls out a small pouch of coins.

"This is what I have left after buying new armor and a shield, Tyr. I know it's not much, but I am sure I will earn more."

She leaves the sack with the last of her coin in it on the offering alter and leaves.

Triel enters the Temple of Tyr, quite distraught. She sits down solemnly, and bows her head over her folded hands.

"Hi, it's me Tyr."

"I need some guidance, I am afraid I may have stumbled into something I did not fully understand."

"I saw a large party surrounding a small group of orcs and half-orcs, with two of the later dead on the ground. One of the dead was a woodsman that I had helped earlier. He is a good-hearted being."

"The situation was chaotic, but from what was said, the orcs had information that the others wanted. They offered the orcs food, but did not like the information so they threatened violence. The others claimed the orcs stole the food, though it was given to them."

"The orcs were outnumbered, and Sir Ivaris was trying to diffuse the situation, but it was not going well. Some that stood against the orcs were pushing for trouble, while the orcs were all standing together asking to be left alone. All of the weapons were held in hands that were against the orcs. I chose to defend those that looked to be outnumbered, and showing peace."

"Sir Ivaris finally convinced the orcs to leave, though I did not agree with it, the situation was diffused for a time. Some thought to follow the orcs and kill them in the woods. I followed the orcs, to stop the murder, but was too late. A man said that they vowed revenge for the treatment, and he killed them, though two orcs did not, and were spared."

"Was I right? Was my heart in the right place in preventing the murder of orcs? We hunt them in their cave, but I knew one of the ones on the road, and know him to be a good being. It was a challenge Tyr, one that I hoped I met with the justice and grace that you expect of me."

"Thank you for listening Tyr, I will come back tomorrow."

Triel enters the Temple of Tyr. She sits quietly for a moment, gathering her thoughts and steadying her nerves. Finally she bows her head over folded hands.

"I am saddened Tyr."

"I found Borris near the old Bhaal temple today, his body filled with arrows."

"They were not the crude flights of gnoll fletchers, but the fine craftsmanship of elves or humans."

"Is it not murder, even if the victim is half-orc?"

"He was a good soul Tyr. Please show mercy wherever he is now. Guide his soul to a peaceful rest."

"Guide me with your wisdom, that I may seek justice for Borris."

"Thank you. I will come back tomorrow."

Triel has been studying in the library for at least a few hours a day. She bought a cheap book and writing utensil to take notes. Her books of choice have been about law, and the teaching of Tyr. She has been sure to read books of different opinions about the same topics, making notes to compare different ideologies.

Triel enters the temple and sits, bowing her head over folded hands.

"Hello Tyr, it's me, Triel."

"I met a woman today that I fear needs help. She seemed quite out of her mind, and she is known to be dark of heart. I fear that her flirtation with darkness has unhinged her mind. She can't even grasp the most basic concepts like self-defense, or finding facts about an incident. She seems to think that even presented with facts there is more than one truth."

"I know that you show mercy to all, and you teach that all deserve justice. I would ask that you show mercy to this woman, and I pray that she finds the help that she needs to come back to her senses."

"Thank you Tyr, I will come back tomorrow."

Triel...bowed head...hands.

"Hello Tyr."

"I met a woman who is most troubled today. Her hands were aflame, and she was panicked. The fire could not be quenched, but it did not burn her. As I suspected she was dabbling in powers that she should stay away from. I helped her calm herself so she could stop the fire, and gain control of herself again."

"She said she had been reading a book about that power, but it did not mention how to control it. I realize now I should have asked where the book was so I could get rid of it."

"I advised her to stay away from that book in the future. I hope she does. Tyr please have mercy, and guild Miss Elektra on the right path."

"I also talked to the dark hearted woman again. I really must get her name. She saddens me, one so lost to the world that they believe no one. I showed her as much love and compassion as I could, while attempting to avoid a flare up of her mental problem. She could not even believe that I was genuine in my concern for her. Perhaps I should not humor her fantasies in the future, and bear her madness with stoic resolve. I know you will aid me in this, and I thank you Tyr."

"I will come back tomorrow."

"Hello again Tyr"

"Forgive my rashness the other night with that elf Wythran. I have such a hard time maintaining my calm in the face of such blind hatred."

"He would not accept the word of one of your servants, when I vouched for the lady Kaltyra. He treated her as if she were an animal, and she did nothing but exist. I have a hard time believing that a being of such age lacks the wisdom to realize that hate is evil."

"Does it damn one's soul if one inadvertently does harm to a good soul? Does it set one's fate in eternity if one's actions cause a good soul to turn to darkness?"

"Tyr, have mercy on Councilor Wythran's soul. I know his hate comes from years of war between his people and Kaltyra's, but I do not believe that excuses his actions, or makes them less evil. Show him the wisdom of justice and tolerance. Show him the light of love, that defeats all darkness and evil. Strike from his heart the pestilence that is hate. Help him to change so that his hate does not breed more hate."

"Thank you Tyr, I will come back tomorrow."

Triel enters the Temple of Tyr, barely able to contain her smile. She sits down, as the priest chuckles and leaves the sanctuary to give her some privacy.

"Hello Tyr."

She tries to force her face into a more solemn demeanor. She fails miserably.

"Thank you Tyr, thank you for watching out for Naomi, and bringing her back to me. She is so very special to me, and I am eternally grateful for any hand you had in putting her in my path, or me in hers. I hope that one day I am worthy to ask for the power to give back that which she lost. Not for me you see, but I see the sadness in her eyes sometimes. I would care for her no matter how she looked, forever if we are blessed with that time, but for her I would give anything to have the power to set things right, to undo the evil that was done to her. Oh...by anything, I mean anything that you asked. I wouldn't sell myself to some demon or anything, besides Naomi would not be very happy about that."

Her smile falters and her mood becomes more grim.

"I know you know everything, I just don't know if you read papers...well, there is this one here called the Taddler. In it they mention that poor, corrupted woman that I talked to you about the other day. Her name is Narasida, I think. Well, thing is Tyr, I am afraid that paper might make her worse. Some of the others say I should bother with her, that she is too far gone to be helped. I know we can't help everyone, but what is she is one of the ones I am supposed to help? If I don't try then I might miss my chance to save someone, and one soul is worth it isn't it?"

"I pray for your guidance Tyr, your wisdom, your mercy. If she is one I am supposed to save then guide me in the right direction. Help me to help her."

"Thank you Tyr, I will come back tomorrow."

Triel enters the temple of Tyr with a heavy heart.

"Hello Tyr."

"It's been a strange few days, and I need your guidance more than ever."

"Mister Gareut...something is wrong. I told his friend Miss Nari about him, I hope she can help. Please, if you have time, give him a little of your strength so that he can get through this, whatever it is."

"I also ask for you to help Mister Gwaith. He has hate in his heart. I don't mind that he ignores me, or pretends that I don't exist, but he shows hate to others who have done no wrong that I can see. If they have, guide me, but help him too. Show him the wisdom that you have shown me."

"Lastly, I need your help with Naomi. I know I asked before, and I am sure you are thinking about it. I want so much to help her, if it is within my power. Anything you can do to help me will be so wonderful. I care about her, and I don't care how she looks, but she is saddened sometimes. She feels out of place, not being able to do what others do, things as simple as eating in public. I want so much to see her smile all the time, not just when we are alone. Ask anything of me Tyr, anything to make her whole again."

"Thank you Tyr, I will be back tomorrow."

Triel, feeling horrible for spending money on the extravagance of a dress for the theater opening, leaves extra tithes in the temple of Tyr, and spends the entire day helping clean the temple.

Triel enters the temple and sits, thinking for a moment about what she wants to say. Finally she bows her head over folded hands.

"Hi Tyr."

"I would like to pray for the soul of a man I met today, the gray cloaked man, I didn't get his name but I am sure you know who it was."

She silently berates herself for not getting the man's name.

"Well, it's sad and all to see someone who looks at the world with such cynical eyes. He actually believes that everyone is selfish...as if he knows everyone in the world. He thinks that killing for something like food or water is justified. He also thinks that killing someone to take their water is the same as fighting to defend from one that wants to take your life."

She shakes her head in disbelief.

"I believe he is faithless, I have met people like him recently. They strive to twist the words of the faithful to find fault with their beliefs. I hope that he finds faith before the end."

"Finally, look after the soul of the one they call Randall, the woman that used to be a man. She is very troubled. She was quite mean to another last night, ending an assaulting the man. Perhaps it is the change in her body that has caused her desire to do violence."

"Thank you Tyr, I will come back tomorrow."

Triel enters the temple, deeply troubled. She sits for a time, looking at the alter. Finally she bows her head and sighs.

"Hello Tyr. I am worried about a fellow paladin. Sir Asen is a paladin right? Well, he told me that he continuously seeks out and slays those responsible for an attack on Sir Jonas and the Saint Meri. That is a grievous crime, but from what he said the men were killed for it. I would rather they faced a trial and justice, but sometimes that is not an option."

"Is it wrong to continue to punish someone? According to Sir Asen the ones he hunts have not attacked any other innocents. If the Gods have seen fit to return the souls to the world, who are we to kill them again for a crime they have already been punished for? Would someone be imprisoned for a crime, then upon release, rearrested, over and over again?"

"Tyr, I am worried that Sir Asen has fallen to dark desires such as vengeance. His actions do not seem goodly, or within the laws of the Dukes. Please Tyr, have mercy on Sir Asen, and guide him back to the light of justice and love. Guide him back to grace so that he may further the holy teachings of his Patron."

"Thank you Tyr, I will be back tomorrow."
