This is a basic Biography and Background of Vierriina Barri'urden, a Female Drow PC, I created. Any significant events, DM or not, that occur will be posted in the in this Journal. This post is just an outline of her character for use by DMs if they would like to use her for a plot, or others are OOC curious as to why she is the way he is.
Name: Vierriina Barri'urden,
Name Translation: (language: drow, feminine case) First name: Black-Spellcaster, Surname: Spawn of the Darkeness (this is to mean she, and/or her family in the past, is a follower of Shar)
Race/Gender: Drow/female
Alignment: Neutral Evil
Profession: 20101029, she was an "official guest" of the faerns at The Tower of The Masked Mage. There she performed the dark magics that occur naturally to her for observation and testing by the faerns. She "left" the Tower to seek out her brother Ist'aonar for answers to her past and dreams. Currently she earns gold primarily by selling information to the Schools of Illusion and Necromancy, and performing more specific information acquisition or, rarely, personnel removal tasks when requested if the pay is good enough.
Deity: Shar
Background Trait: Wild Child
Height: 60 inch (153cm), Average height for Drow
Weight: 100lbs (45.5kg)
Body Build: Thin and athletic
Hair: White
Skin Tone: Black
Eye color: Ice Blue
General Appearance: As of 20111109, wears a black cloth tunic with a complimentary black skirt at mid thigh. Strapped tightly against her thighs and upper and lower arms are what appear to be many wands. Many small vials also adorn the belt around her waste. Wears her hair down behind the right ear and down the left side of her face. Physical weapons include a two short swords and crossbow.
She came to Sshamath as an infant with her mother, Vierarra, and brother, a young child at the time, Ist'aonar. They were religious refugees, worshipers of Shar, from Ched Nassad, or so that is what Vierarra told others. Her father is unknown to her, and she remembers nothing about her mother. Upon the death of her mother, the exact causes still unknown, she was "taken in" by the faern of The Tower of The Masked Mage as a toddler, about 2 years of age. Her brother Ist'aonar was forced into the streets of the ghetto of Sshamath, The Dark Woods, and left to fend for himself.
The reasoning as for Vierriina being "taken in" by the faerns of the Tower of the Masked Mage were very clear for any outside observer familiar with their ways, to study her, or more specifically her presumed magical capabilities. For the short time Vierarra, her mother, lived in Sshamath and earned herself a name for being most capable in dark magic unlike most arcane magic. However, her capabilities were not earned through studies, but performed through sheer will. The fearns believed that this "gift" would most likely be passed on to Vierriina, and they were not disappointed.
Unfortunately for the fearns Vierriina was a very unruly child and did not care for being poked and prodded to perform magical feats for the fearns to study. Many times as a child she would hide in the shadows of the tower for cycles at a time. Even the tower scrys would have trouble finding her, only to lose her time and time again. All the while Vierriina would be carrying out her retribution upon those mages who pushed her too far, making her perform magical castings over and over ad nauseum. She would destroy notes, books, experiments, which at times unknowingly would cause experiments to become traps, scarring and maiming more than a few mages of the tower.
Many of the mages would have liked to punish her brutally for her antics, but time and time again the higher mages, and specifically Nurissa Vyllshan, the leading proponent of the school of the Shadow Weave, would make excuses for her and say that the mages shouldn't have pushed her so far, even though they were under their orders. They wouldn't have their favorite pet project being ruined. They needed her alive, well, and happy else she may refuse to perform any more magic at all, perhaps they had intended for Veirriina to act out this way. Perhaps this was setup to simply study her powers by a different means without Vierriina's knowing.
As she matured into a young lady it became a bit more simple to keep her happy and therefore performing her magics. She most enjoyed materialistic gifts and the pampering she received. Jewelry and nice dresses were always welcomed and long warm baths followed up with sensual massages. Such a policy towards her would be maintained and she would come to enjoy her predicament for many many years until.......
Her Familiar:
Name: Erim
Creature: Cat
Alignment: True Neutral
Likes: Being pet, and playing pranks
Hates: Anything that attacks her, and seeing Vierriina sad.
Background: Vierriina's familiar who has kept her from being too lonely while at the Tower of The Masked Mage, and aided her in much of her retribution against the "mean" mages as a child. She helped(s) her find hiding places and remain out of site.
