A letter is nailed to the door at the ruins of the temple of Bhaal, it is poorly scribed, with the symbol of Bhaal marked at the bottom of the letter. It reads;

"Dear brothers and sisters, it is time to unite and bring retribution across the land. I will be listening to rumors, watching over the lands in wait to see your tenday celebrations to our lord. Make those celebrations beautiful and worthy of fear. Let it be known the destruction of our temple will not go unanswered. Though we may never meet each other, know that I will be carrying out the tenday celebration. If this may be torn down by a "hero," then my message to the hero is this. Do you understand what you are doing? Do you wish to impede our lord? For he can witness you, and I will know your name."

The message is written in a jumbled mix of several languages, common, undercommon, goblin, orc, slyvan, gnoll, and elven. The only words in common are tenday, fear, and lord.

Bentley Mirrorshade, that loveable gnome, pokes his head outside when he hears the early-morning banging. He peers about myopically, then shuffles back inside to grab his spectacles.

Moments later the proprietor of the Friendly Arm Inn Model Five (the previous four having been burned down by a regrettable combination of adventurers, goblins, and pyrotechnic charges) reads the letter over with a curious expression. After calling for a footstool to reach it, he jumps up to tear the letter off his door with an absurdly good-natured grumble.

"Maybe an Anti-Murder Golem would be just the thing," he can be heard to exclaim. "Not only for here, but everywhere!"
