She strolled along the cobblestone streets with grace, yet commanding a stride of confidence as her richly colored and by no means inexpensive robe fluttered behind in her hasted wake.
Small horns jutted from her smooth pale skin and a barbed tail swayed in compliments of her gait. The woman walked with such confidence because she wasn't just a mere tiefling or powerful sorceress or royalty, well, the latter could be up for debate. She is the daughter of Cania, the offspring of Mephistopheles himself and in her possession she held something thought to have been destroyed byhuman, elf, dwarf, halfling, gnome, and the hated drow alike.
A tiefling..A shadow..and a particular bloodline.

Re: A tiefling..A shadow..and a particular bloodline.
Not far from Candlekeep, another equally powerful entity jumped from shadow to shadow..Sometimes walking the Fringe and other times walking the Material Plane. To most,at first glance that is,he would appear as a drow with oddly golden colored eyes, but if one looked closely they would notice what looks like shadows leaking freely from his obsidian ashen skin of their own accord.
Normally on any other day or night he would walk the Shadow Fringe fully, but this particular day was far from normal. The unpredictable shade was highly interested in what seemed to be an ordinary traveler upon the Lion's Way, on what would usually be just any other simple day. From Fringe and back to the Material, his trips confirmed further evidence to his superiors that the traveler was indeed the last of an ancient bloodline.

Re: A tiefling..A shadow..and a particular bloodline.
A wave accompanied an innocent smile as the young traveler of seventeen seasons greeted a passing family of farmworkers in their unremarkable and nearly dilapidated wagon.
He had the look of a well muscled young man beneath his dirty and simple looking attire of a commoner, however, his steps were sure and any skilled warrior would have noticed the young lad was not short of or lacking the skill or agility to easily give any seasoned warrior a run for his coin.
The scent of the road invigorated the youngster and high hopes rode upon his broad shoulders as his mind drifted into a daydream of becoming a powerful mage serving the lords of Baldur's Gate.
The greatsword passed down to him by his adopted father bobbed and bounced against his back as he strolled along. The young lad was actually well versed with the blade despite his age,but he stilled dreamed of wielding the powers of the weave..in fact it screamed to him within his blood.
Dreams had haunted him since a young age..ones of nightmare and atrocities which were unspoken of in most any conversation.Perhaps,he would find his answers within the great walled city...but little did he know others already had plans for him.A destiny forged through thousands of years...to some a curse and to others....a gift.

Re: A tiefling..A shadow..and a particular bloodline.
A tenday ago.....
"I know this is the place...can't you feel it?" The drow wizard hand signaled to his companion. The rogueish male gave the wizard a sour look of uncertainty and shook his long white mane in defeat.
The duo had once consisted of a party of two other members, but the endless perils of the Underdark never slept nor did she ever show mercy. It only takes one moment of weakness, only one mistake and the lightless world far below the realms of the sun can and will jump upon the opportunity in the span of a single breath. And so only two of the original four remained.
"Yes, I can feel it and I am not liking what I am feeling.." He signaled back to his wizard companion still showing his look of disapproval.
"You are overly cautious is all and what you are feeling is an ancient sentience of great power. Not long ago a group from the surface ventured here with the help of our own race and battled this power....and defeated it...so they thought," The wizard finally breaking the silence in hushed tones. The rogue listened intently to everything his companion was conveying to him.The wizard paused for a moment to cast a minor spell that would give him the ability to see any magical wards within the crypt they were about to enter. He then whispered again to the rogue."Apparently, this sentience pre-dates the Netherese Empire."
At that moment, the duo triggered a ward which was unseen and undetectable to the drow wizard.A minor ward, hidden by a much more intricate magic which surpassed the skill of the drow mage.
The alarm went off in the tiefling's mind and she could only smile.
