A new message hangs on the door of the tavern... written with a beautiful red ink on a yellow parchment...
The message can be found in various parts of the city... it says:
I feel obliged to inform our noble society on the dark rituals that take place deep in the woods of the sharp teeth.
I've seen elves lead by their dark teacher... the academy high scholar, they conjured dark magic, undead... whispered in foul, forgotten language
The creatures they created from pure evil stroke fear in the surrounding beings.
I warn you... stay away from those elves and their academy or you may be their next creation...
Signed
K. A.

-Eowiel sees the note and tears it down, then burns it with a little bit of magical fire, dropping the ashes in the nearest bin-
"Such lies.."

It doesnt take long and such notes spreads from tavern to tavern, rumours about elven necromancers can be heard there and here. Name "Rhys The DemonLord" Spreads amongts the peasants, travellers and their kind. Speaks about that knights and paladins should do something for such threat grow slowly but mostly of the cities well doing people dont even hear such talks. There is always some who may not wait for actions of veterans. This is a good fast way to make name for himself. Few almost hostile eyes follow elven people in these dark days.
"Cant you see? Your fellow men dont defend knife ears... Their slaves, spies, allies and those fools who have sell their souls to demons are spreaders of their evil deeds! Comrades, we have to defend ourself and out families like we did with the followers of Blaah! I and you all know that they wont listen words, but they will hear our steel! They arent our kind. Dont get me wrong. Defend those with good heart but their wizards and politicians!" He makes a cut throat gesture and jumps down from the small box. Grim people's firebrand vanish into the people mass around before the elven arrows can pierce him.

As the day passes the torn posters are replaced by new... written by the same hand...
on some people randomly sign their negative feelings towards the elven nation...

*detecting the disposition of the local citizenry and seeing the constant infulx of new posters, Rade Imythesent decides to plan for a long break away from the gate. Pulling up her hood and making her way to the farmlands she knows she must go to Doran Amar and find out what is going on. At the very least keeping her ears hidden doesnt seem a bad idea....*

(( I really hate that I have to keep saying this. ))

Down at the docks, some of the workers and drunks get a bit caught up in the rumours and speeches. If there's one thing a dockworker or sailor likes, it's gossip and rumours on the beach.
"'em no-good elves, wot've t'ey ever done f'er us!"
Whatever is said, little is done. Most Baldurians know all too well that most of what happens beyond the walls of the great city has little effect on them. And who would want to anger the valiant Wyndsouls, heroes and nobles of Baldur's Gate?
Some rumours are best left rumours, or acted on by those who can stand against the heroes and villains of Faerun.
(( As requested. The average citizen of Baldur's Gate is happy to pass along a rumour or story, but it takes a lot more than simple hearsay and invective to actually gather a mob. They feel safe behind the walls and the Fist, though the average citizen has a wary mistrust of any 'adventurer', given their history in the area. ))

Sir Rokranon spots one of these notices as he walks to the temple of Torm one morning. The tall aasimar actually has to stifle his laughter, then continues on his way muttering.
"Anyone who has actually met Rhys knows better. Thank you, 'K.A.', we can all now sleep at night with your valuable warning."
