Baldur's Gate : The Sword Coast Chronicles : NWN2 Persistent World

Word begins to spread from the Southern reaches of Baldur's Gate traveling slowly Northward to the streets of Baldur's gate itself. Warriors, priests, peasants, and the unsavory alike gossiping of the rumors. Some say that Amn is preparing for an invasion of Baldur's Gate. Others say that Amn is intent upon spreading throughout the regions surrounding the Gate like a plague of locusts to suck the life's blood from it's citizenry through coins. May hap the Duke himself. In a few areas pamphlets and notices are placed where they can easily be found. Many of them looking much like this.

Local Fist patrols remove the postings along with other rants and foreboding news. Most patrons pay no mind to the hate mongering message.

*Gregor comes across one of the postings, and rips it from the tavern's board, tossing it on the ground and spitting on it. He then proceeds to keep an eye out for anyone posting such garbage.*

"Prob'ly woul'nae know a tide 'f 't washed'em out th' Chionthar...."

*seeing the fist remove the note a calm comes over Bannion* bless those mercenaries for knowing for a fact such a threat doesnt exist. surely all must be well... *he thinks as he walks towards the gate and out towards the farmlands*

Celoril sighs, as he crumbles one of the pamflets between his hands and tosses it on the streets, and thinks to himself "They could have at least spelled 'allegiance' properly..." He then continues his walk.

Gregor mentions the posting to his friend "Chuckles" in passing. The impertinent elf pauses for a few moments in thought before he comments.

"First there's butchery in Markhold, blamed by the local lord on the Fist. While we both know I'm no lover of their methods I assure you, having witnessed the aftermath, it wasn't thier style. It was blatant terrorism, wanton slaughter of innocents.

"Now we have a bit of rabble-rousing on the other side. It makes me wonder just who benefits from the two states in conflict?"

When Jonas hears of the rumors, he heaves a heavy sigh and runs a hand through his silver hair.

"Great. Relations with Amn are bad enough these days without this utter nonsense."

The paladin proceeds to aid the Flaming Fist with removing any fliers that may have been missed.
