About the change to the RWoT class

Unread post by Laenor »

I will start by saying : this doesn't affect me much.
I've already got my own RWoT, and after leveling a Wizard to 30 (Still underway, of course), you can be sure I won't start levelling another one to 30 any time soon.

I don't agree with limiting the access to PRCs, unless these are clearly linked to a faction that is well alive on the server, and dedicated to the faction itself.

Either you need to have ALL prcs available only on application, or have none (but the dedicated PRCs, of course)

Red Wizard of Thay is the only "human" dedicated PRC.
Like "Dwarven Defender" is a Dwarven dedicated PRC, Elven Archer is a elven dedicated PRC and so on.

While I understand the "O noes he's playin teh RWoT and not roleplayin' it" issues that are linked with RWoT, there still is the facts that :
- Unless no-one knows you're a RWoT, you can't play a RWoT here
- Power-wise, RWoT have about the same strength as any (+2 int) race Actually, if you play your RWoT the way it was meant to be played (Not waiting level 17 to take your first RWoT level) they are less powerful.

If this PRC is limited, then all PRCs should recieve the same treatment and require application.
God, it will suck balls, but when I think about the reasons why RWoT became an application PRC, I don't see any reason for other PRCs not to have the same treatment, because the reason for turning RWoT into an application PRC can be used to justify doing the same to pretty much every single PRC on the server.

I really thought the change was more like, some RP ways to understand that someone is a RWoT when he's casting, or something that makes hiding beeing a RWoT a bit more difficult.
But this change ? Frankly, I think it sucks.

For TLDR folks : I don't like the change.

The above link will detail a great deal of what to expect from the changes and what we expect the players to do for getting in contact with the staff.

Thank you.

To avoid the earlier mass confusion, posts other than the OP and the answer with the link have been deleted.
