Surfacers

Unread post by Metro-Gnome »

A small group of surface diplomats investigating recent underdark raids on the surface takes up temporary residence in the Gloura's Wings while a handful of residents conduct an investigation into the matter. When the papers they commissioned to ensure their safe passage arrive to the Inn, they are seen paying for them and exiting the front door. Scattered reports filter in about sightings around town but it seems they are keeping a low profile.

An immense human is seen moving about the market, trading in fresh fruit and surface liquors - some of them strong enough to get the duergar's attention. Clearly no stranger to commerce in Sshamath, he conducts his business affairs respectfully, then returns to his rooms and out of sight once more.
Arivain - A man of guts and bravery, after all.
Ward Williamson - "(expletive) insane."

A towering Assimar dressed in chainmail and a black coverings is seen moving about the city speaking to a number of people. After a number of conversations he returns to the Inn himself and is out of sight.

The female elf with them is very much on edge and trying very hard to remain calm. Anyone watching her closely though would notice she is not at all comfortable in this environment. She shifts the weight from one foot to the other constantly and her eyes dart around as if always looking for the nearest exits. She speaks to no one other then the ones that traveled down with her (and her feet) and even then it is only ever in quiet whispers. The whispered conversations with her feet seem only to be reassuring words trying to convince them that there is no need to bolt that this isn't going to be anything like the last time.

Where the female elf goes, so does the male. Standing next to her and keeping her as calm as possible. He never seems to walk about the city without protective wards and armor and insists the same for her. They check the Inn daily for the information they were promised before retiring for the night.

A small female drow with large, almond shaped blue eyes cautiously approches the male elf. She carefully picks a street that has enough traffic on it to keep him from feeling as if he is being stalked and walks openly behind him until he notices her. It is clear from her body languange and lack of weapons she is doing her best to appear harmless.

She catches his eye and makes a soothing gesture, then places a small dispatch case on the ground in front of her. She speaks softly in drow then backs away, leaving the case lying on the ground. She turns around and quickly walks away calling softly over her shoulder. "You can find me at Gloura's do you wish any other information."

The elf glances around once or twice then makes a signal to his companion. He retrieves the case and walks off around a corner where both elves seemingly vanish. It can easily be assumed that they are going off to look over the information privately.

a young drow female student skips across the bazaar towards Golura's wings , normally she should be in class , but she managed to pry out of her tutors a dispensation for her assistance in the rumored shadow dragon .

The bazaar is crowded today , a large man sold her an apple , bitter sweet kinda good until he told her it was from the surface , even tough it was good tasting she throws the apple in the gutter , and tells the man dirt would taste better . She hates surfacers , their all death and suffering , never trust them.

Coming around she sights wondering if them surface diplomat still occupies 2nd floor , they're treated like royalty , a delegation of them , how barbaric .. how repulsive.

Looking up she sees what she thinks is a familiar face ... she droped somthing , Kar goes to sprint foward hoping to give back to her owner , but a cloaked figure beats her to it , surely to hand it back she thinks, but no the figure take the pakage and .. walks off , vanishing two steps after , Kar leaps grabing the nearest guard and pointing to the elve's last location.

- Guard ! theives! i just saw them steal from a drow !
