Background:
Coming from a fairly large family and being the middle child in a house of women, Rouge naturally felt a strong need for approval and attention. With a beautiful, physically gifted older sister and a younger sister who could seemingly do no wrong in her mother's eyes, Rouge sought to gain approval through the use of her mind instead.
Raised on a staple of tales of adventure from her mother's younger years and the careful feeding of specific ideas on morality and power, Rouge sought out arcane knowledge wherever she could. Self study was the order of the day, her mother's opinions on self sufficiency winning out over the more easy apprenticing methods. Rouge gathered up lore from the common to the esoteric all along the coast and throughout Baldurs Gate.
Once she had gathered enough coin and some minor cantrips, she purchased travel to and from Candlekeep to gain a better understanding of her own skills. Somewhere in her younger years it dawned on her that she had more natural skill than most when it came to shaping chaotic magics.
From her frequent studies and trials far from people, Rouge caught on to the magic that came most naturally to her. While it was a long time till she attempted to master it, she understood from an early age there was something of the wilds in her soul that just wanted to see the works of man crumble into dust.
Suppressing and redirecting the forces within her came a good deal easier once she turned her desire for chaos and entropy into something more tangibly arcane and directed. Something with structure and rules rather than raw desire and willpower. While she rarely speaks of the particulars of her studies during this time, it is a very good thing she chose to master her arts away from judgemental eyes.
In more modern times, Rouge has sought to master so many things in her life that she sometimes has difficulty finding her own niche. Never having gained the kind of attention she has sought, she moves about being pulled in all directions by conflicting desires. She understands more of her nature now, realising that some manner of planar pact has touched her soul, likely while very young.
Without a suitable task or drive to anchor herself to, her chaotic nature rises more and more with each passing day. The cracks are beginning to show as memories begin to mix into the fantastical and terrible, her understanding of her condition drives her to renew ties to the current so as not to lose any more of herself to the spiralling inside.
Her frequent chuckling and occasionally very distant or thoughtful looks are simply coping mechanisms and symptoms of her deterioration. Her mind carries on conversations in multiple directions in her head, often to the most amusing results she can come up with, simply to keep herself entertained and mostly grounded on the topic at hand. It can easily ruin her attempts to be serious or show genuine emotion or concern for others and their opinions as, despite her best efforts, she suddenly realises just how humourous it all is. Life and death, the whole grand lie.
Goals:
Gain a truly phenomenal amount of gold and gems, own a stately manor and work her way into a position of power. Become a true master of magic. Oh, and either live forever (without the icky undeadness) or set herself up for eternal bliss in the after life.

Has two sisters, her younger sister Scarlet and older sister Blanc.
Her mother is Sangria, who still considers Rouge to have failed at living up to her full potential.

Has been to the Moonshae Isles with a crew of pirates. Still wears her trophy from that trip.
