First Name: Kubrick
Last Name: Serbahn
Appearance: The quickest way to describe Kubrick would be as unassuming, on the low end of average for height and without any particularly gruesome scars or attention-grabbing features he is a man who one might easily pass over in a crowd without ever really seeing him. If one were to take the time to scrutinize him one might find that he is particularly brawny for his size, built like a compact ox would be an excellent way to describe it. His shoulders are broad and his arms thick with a middle that has just the slightest hint of getting pudgy in middle age. His features are round, his nose slightly large nonetheless fits his square jawed face quite complementarity.
Kubrick keeps his hair long in a style common in Luskan with heavy braids at each of his temples, above his lips he keeps a finely groomed mustache that lends his face an almost grandfatherly quality along side his almost perpetual grin and ready chuckle. His gray-eyes are almost dull, which one could easily construe to mean he is of equally dull wit. He dresses for travel and uses practical armor without ornamentation or personalization, the kind of thing easily repaired with little cost or effort or just as easily replaced. He is never seen in public without his great-axe close to arms reach, either slung across his back or carried on his broad shoulders the weapon looks more like it should belong to an executioner than a warrior but the fifty-notches in it's haft and hard worn blade speak to consistent and successful use.

Personality Profile:
General Health: Kubrick is a stable individual, Jovial and friendly on the outside but cool and detached within. Kubrick has fought wars, enslaved villages and murdered for coppers in his time. Life is cheap in his eyes and most things even cheaper. He's not the type of man to swing his axe into another mans face out of sheer boredom or lesser profit anymore. Still a stone-cold killer Kubrick has grown as an individual from a barbaric hound in his youth to a crafty wolf in his middle-age. Companionship is temporary but enjoyable, he sees no reason to be impolite or harmful towards others unless they stand directly in his way or doing harm would provide him with a greater gain.
He operates on a moral code and with reasoning inscrutable to many who hear it. He has often justified his actions with such caveats as “Nobody ever died from getting cut that was worth living anymore.” and he believes in a strong sense of Fatalism. He never slays an opponent who has been beaten unless it's his job and he makes a point to offer aid to anyone he meets even if he demands recompense in turn whether it be a favor or gold. For women this is especially true and although Kubrick is far from courtly he is far kinder to females than to fellow males of any race or personality.
Kubrick is quite the traveler and has seen a good portion of the world on the surface and below it, he's come to view all races without the normal preconceptions. Personal bias DOES exist but is based more on his past experience than simple hearsay or societal prejudice he is also quite willing to accept exceptions to the rule provided that they are useful or in some other way beneficial to him.
Deity: Auril – Kubrick respects the Lady of Winter's cool implacability as well as the primal power she represents. He has also always been drawn to strong female figures, Goddess are no exception.
Bane – Kubrick was raised by a sect of the preisthood of Bane. He was raised to revere the god and to serve him before all others. Although he eventually chose a path far removed from that of a Cleric of Bane respect and the worship of the god has been completely ingrained in him. Kubrick follows the tenets of Bane closely in his own fashion. The strong take what they desire from the weak, order is paramount and power supreme.

Family
Father – Kazamov Serbahn / Cleric of Bane // Kazamov Serbahn views his son as a failure, when Kubrick rejected the priesthood of Bane and elected instead to follow a warriors path, he shunted him off to a hidden temple and disowned him.
Mother – Unknown / Slave in service to Kazamov Serbahn // She died giving birth to Kubrick, she was captured in a Banite raid on her family farm and was spared the ritual sacrifice of her family only because Kazamov desired an heir to his name.
Brief History: (See BOOK OF THE AXEMAN for further updates as I add more to Kubricks past and current history.)
Childhood – Raised in a Banite sanctuary by the priesthood, was taught the lore of Bane and both Abyssal and Celestial to follow in his fathers footsteps as a cleric of the Black Fist. Took part in ritual sacrifices to Bane and began training to combat the gods enemies.
Young Adulthood – Began martial training and accompanying raiding forces. Made his first kill and grew to revel in the thrill of combat. Began to move away from the priesthood, attracted to the less devout life of the common Banite soldiery. Eventually made his intent not to join the priesthood clear, was disowned and shuffled off to a temple to Bane in Luskan. Served as a soldier in the new temple for several years and learned of the worship of Auril, began to worship her alongside Bane.
Adulthood – Left the service of Bane to make his own way, fought for Luskan in several wars before joining with a mercenary company that took him to Thay where he was a member of the hired guards for several years before he joined up with a slaving ship. Worked as muscle in Skullport for the slaving industry for a few months before joining a Duregar mercenary group and venturing deeper into the underdark. Fled the mercenary company after it's near destruction at the hands of Illithids and returned to the surface. Has worked on and off as an adventurer and hired muscle, wandering from city to city until now he is newly arrived in Baldurs Gate.
Goals: Kubrick is currently without employment or greater goals. As a sellsword he required conflict or at least a patron to keep himself in business and has been desperately searching for any odd-jobs that he can pick up. He has led many forays into the dens of monsters around Baldurs gate in an effort to collect bounty on the beasts themselves or loot the creatures have collected and has a mixed amount of success. In an ideal world Kubrick would find employment and then decide on his next move, most likely earning him enough to keep equipped and rising in the ranks of whatever company or group decides to take him in, waiting for the next opportunity to make a grab for a big score.
Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts:
Kubrick is currently using an assumed name to find work, Samual Clay. This is to avoid any trouble with those who might know of his past as well as to allow him to operate as two distinct people within the massive city and it's surroundings. One following a more legitimate line of work, the other seeking less savory employment. If you know of one identity you might possibly learn of the other and get curious. Who knows! But that's the fun of RP right?
I am tossing around the idea of Kubrick returning to the priesthood of Bane within my head, perhaps receiving a call from the God himself to take up his cause or perhaps simply meeting a powerful Cleric of Bane who inspires him to return to the power and purpose the preisthood represents. So any of you out there with Clerics of Bane want to contact me through PM or in game feel free! Same to any DM's who might want to help me turn this into a miniplot!
If your a traveler it's possible you have heard of or met Kubrick in the past, he's not particularly well known or anything of the like but bounties have been placed on his head in times past under different identities and he was a prominent figure in several battles in Luskan and Thay.
