New Auto-animations/script tool suggestion?

I overall think it's a good idea, but I think it could use a bit of improvement... every time I use * to emote, it's pink... just like my character's name. If I want to change the text color, I have to do <C=red>text</c>... Not cool. We have the bio editor with a full interface and whatnot, and the new chat tool has a save feature... but what exactly does it save? Nothing apparently. I want to modify my default emote color to something more pronounced, like a light green that can be easily seen apart. Also, perhaps the option to make it always italics/bold/bold-italics? And save THOSE as default for either the character or the player account?
Is this even possible?
Also, didn't know which section to post this suggestion so...

It saves the settings, if you don't do that it will reset every server reset.

I knew people would ask why I chose pink and the answer is exactly as you said: to match the player names. This way, if you lead your post with an emote, it says SoAndSo smiles and walks off with a wave .
My initial intention was to make it as you said, where you can input your own hex RGB value for your text colors, but it occured to me that if everyone had different color schemes, things are going to be difficult and painful to read.
The point of colorizing the text was not to make the text colorful, it was to differentiate between the three types of text in a standardized, 'easy on the eyes' , sort of way.
I did start out with the emote being automatically italic and the OOC text was automatically bold, but in the parsing of the text, this becomes problematic, because the text actually starts to overlap, and besides that, while you don't see the code: <B> or <I> .. they will still take up 3 of your 255 character limit on a posting. So if you made a sentence, with multiple switching between types of text (normal to emote to ooc to emote to normal etc) .. , you end up getting bits of your text missing at the end.
I spent quite a few hours working out a GUI for color selection, and thought 'this will start to be unreadable or give people headaches when everyone has different colors' ; So, I scrapped that and thought, maybe if I made 4-5 themes people could choose from. I played with hex codes for hours and hours and truly it was next to impossible to find 2 colors that looked good together and weren't already used for other types of messages (which was also a consideration).
So, I scrapped that idea and decided that, consistent coloring for all players was best, cause again, the goal of colorizing the text is to help make it easier to read and for your brain to flick a switch where it knows, ok that was OOC or ok that was an emote.
As to what the save button does, it saves the on/off values of the other buttons.

Could it may be set to display *[text]* if you type an animation? I'm not a big fan of the colour either maybe we can save the colour variable and set it for all our animations / flavor?
Love the system TB!

You can have the colorized text off with the autoanimations on and it will display the text as normal and still trigger animations.
Well, it annoys me... so I'm not using it (shame really..)
If you don't use it your character will corrupt and delete itself over time.
I designed it this way on purpose, after much consideration. Tell me how you like reading the following:
FRODO You're late.
GANDALF glowers at the young Hobbit...GANDALF A Wizard is never late, Frodo Baggins, nor is he early.
He arrives precisely when he means to.
They look at each other a moment..then both start laughing as
FRODO'S face breaks into a smile and he leaps on to the front
seat of the cart.
FRODO It's wonderful
to see you, Gandalf!
FRODO Next to Gandalf, we see how small Hobbits are...Frodo is 3 foot 6 inches tall.GANDALF You didn't think I'd miss your Uncle Bilbo's birthday?
CUT TO: 8.
EXT. HOBBITON FIELDS -- DAYWide on: The cart rattles past a FIELD LUPIN being tended by HOBBITS.FRODO What news of the outside
world? Tell me everything!GANDALF Gandalf looks down at Frodo, a twinkle in his eye.
GANDALF What, everything? Far too eager and curious for a Hobbit. Most unnatural...
GANDALF The cart rattles over a Stone bridge towards a Busy Hobbit Marketplace.
GANDALF Well, what can I tell you? Life in the wide world goes on much as if it has past age.
Full of its own comings and goings, scarcely even aware of the existence of Hobbits...
GANDALF Gandalf as he surveys the peaceful scene before him.
GANDALF ...for which I am very thankful.
FRODO Hobbits look up exclaiming in wonder and excitement as the cart bearing Gandalf and Frodo rolls past the Green Dragon Inn...towards... Wide on: The party field. Where scOrcs of
Hobbits are busy preparing for the big night.
GANDALF Ah, the long expected party.
So, how is the old rascal? I hear it's going to be a Party of Special Magnificence.
FRODO You know
Bilbo...he's got he whole place in an uproar.
GANDALF Oh, well...that should
please him.
FRODO Half the
Shire's been invited...
GANDALF Good
gracious, me.
FRODO He's up to
something.
GANDALF Oh, really?
FRODO Frodo shoots a knowing look, as Gandalf averts his eyes.
FRODO Alright then..
keep your secrets. Before you came along we Bagginses were very well thought of.
GANDALF Indeed?
FRODO Never had any
adventures or did anything unexpected.
GANDALF If you're referring to the incident with the Dragon...I was barely involved...all I did was
give your Uncle a little nudge out the door.
FRODO Whatever you did...you've been officially labelled as a
Disturber of the Peace.

The save button resets with every server reset... so you have to choose your options over again for every character.

Tigerbomb, the problem is the pinkish standard colour, not your work itself. Any other colour than that is fine with me.

It shouldn't reset, I'll take a look into this.

Ok. Well, I initially had a soft blue as the emote color. Something like
this. However, I think I remember reading somewhere that shades of blue are not as differentiable for certain types of color blindness as red shades are. I really went back and forth over and over between color choices and in the end I went with the same as the names are displayed.
This can be changed if everyone wants it changed, I want it to be useful for people *shrugs* but it's hard to cater to everyone's tastes and ideas of what should and shouldn't be. I like the blue myself, some purples look good, generally dark shades are hard to read and some bright ones are rough on the eyes. It is important it does not look like a tell or server message, so bright green and yellow are out.

To be honest I've completely skipped things in the chat box because my eyes are so trained to look for white and not pink.
But I'm not sure if switching the color would make that change.

Haha, same with me!
How about using the colour, which is used in dialogues with NPCs? I think, it works quite well both in dialogue window and in ChatBox. Plus, it is easily distinguished. (it's called "cyan", I believe. Might be wrong)
Oh, and another thing, can we have the asterixes or other emote indicators not being removed? Pretty please?

You can turn the Colorization off if you so please...I think it is tabbed "FlavorText" Least what I did.
