Tall and broad-shouldered for his race with an obvious "archer's build" and large hands. Although not handsome, prides himself on keeping his appearance clean and neat to the point of being prissy about it. Almost always wears well-fitted clothing and is never seen in armor. His face is very expressive, the two most common being a big, goofy grin and a look of utter confusion.

From Evermeet, he had met only Sun and Moon Elves before arriving at BG and seems fascinated (and frequently confused) by differences. Tends to be shy around those with whom he's not well-acquainted, although this trait has been somewhat tempered by his long assocation with his wife, Alison Schlump Caunwaithon. Once acquainted, people discover he's gregarious, patient, calm and humorous.
Hard to rile, he accepts taunting and goading with equanimity and generally deflects them. The only exception is when such behavior is directed to Alison and his protective instinct kicks in, usually to bad effect for him.
While intelligent, he has a tendency to make incredibly bad decisions, especially when thrust into a position of leadership. Functions much better in an advisory role even though he has a propensity to be contrary much of the time.
In addition to the racial enemies of Orcs and Drow, he considers as adversaries necromancers, slavers (especially Thayans), and followers of evil-aligned deities.
Once notorious for his "freewheeling" approach to romance, he is now utterly devoted to his wife to the point where he frequently gets teased (from friends) or taunted (from adversaries) about it.

His primary research interest is the ageing process of elves and humans (obviously a keen one to him, being married to a human) along with more general racial physiology and psychology in keeping with his fascination in meeting various races on arrival.
He likes to sing tunes and tell jokes, usually bawdy, although he has no real performing skill.

Background:
Aearion arrived at BG directly from Evermeet, naive to the ways of other races. He was at first both intimidated and fascinated. These differences, particularly when it came to relations between the sexes, led to some problems. He has no significant backstory before his arrival and his current persona has mostly evolved through RP.
He quickly met with the elves of Doron Amar (who were then still camped outside Gullykin) and became a citizen. He is often involved in the factions activities, frequently taking on the role of contrarian as something of a conscience against group-think. Given his poor decision-making along with his self-knowledge of this weakness, he doesn't seek any real leadership position, which isn't to say he wouldn't reluctantly accept if it were thrust upon him.
His courtship of Alison began with a memorable scene on the Chionthar Bridge during a contest staged by Leonia. As it became clear they would be involved long-term he developed his primary research interest and entered the Avowed in Candlekeep. He is currently a Seeker and feels that role suits his abilities while furthering his studies and, thus, isn't particularly interested in further promotion.
Goals:
1) To provide his wife with the ultimate present: a means by which they can grow old together that doesn't violate their morals (i.e., no necromancy, lichdom is right out the window).
2) To protect Doron Amar as a refuge for Tel'Quessir.
3) To foil the plans of his adversaries and not get caught.
Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts:
Anything that furthers his research/first goal, whether through prolonging Alison's life or shortening his or some combination of the two. Currently he's investigating two leads. The first is a report that certain infiltrators can be disguised by actually ageing them (source material available on request). The second is a rumor attributed to Trent Blake (not exactly a friend of Aearion and currently missing from the Coast) that certain Archdruids can slow the ageing process of humans (I've found no source material for this, it's an IG rumor [hearsay] attributed to Trent).
