Sailors needed
You're a sailor without a boat ?
You've heard the call of the sea ?
I need you !
A new ship will be built shortly in Roaringshore. First come, first served, places of officers can be found for experienced sailors and able people ! Craftmen are welcomed and will be involved in the building of the finest ship of the Coast.
If you're interested, find me, Mealir Ostirel, at the docks of Roaringshore and near the Friendly Arms Inn.
P.S. If you're outlawed in Baldur's Gate you're not needed.

Morticia sees the poster at the Shore and apparently is seen in fits of laughter for several minutes.
Some say this could very well be the first time they see the usually serious mage with a smile on her face.
After composure is regained she adds, "come join your prospective employer at the bottom of the sea."

Dovey , seeing the poster, looks at it critically, then adds a dashing mustache and pointy beard

The Hero Captain burst out laughing when he sees one of the posters.
"Morons? Black spotted men? Gah! If ye can swing cutlass ye join in my privateer crew. We don't fear to take and fight if needed! Pointing carefully something with rapier's tip and whining is for Valkur Boys... They probally don't even drink while in duty."

A woman with short blond hair finds Mealir at the docks of Roaringshore. In her extended hand she presents him his own flier which she must have plucked from one of their numerous locations around the fair city. With just a bit of challenge to mask the curiosity in her voice, she asks:
"Would there be a place for someone like me on your ship, Mealir Ostirel? Or do you also look down on people who associate themselves with outlaws, however little? If you are not as bigoted as people claim you to be, then you can count on my help."

Mealir looks suspisciously at the woman as she comes, waiting for a sarcastic comment, and listen to her.
"I thought you had a ship, you broke Kalma's non-existent heart ?"
"What about an explanation on this ? Something convincing, I wouldn't like to pay for swords in my back."

A woman just smiles in return:
"You see me in the presence of the man a few times and you assume I am his lapdog? Please, I deerve better than that."
She is silent for a few seconds, then shrugs her shoulders:
"As for the explanation... I will humour you with one. It is quite simple, really. You are safe. Kalma isn't. Never was. Don't get me wrong, I like the man, admire some of his very few redeeming characteristics. But I never felt myself comfortable enough to become a part of... I think he calls it 'The Crew'? Personally, I blame my survival instincts. Never one to align myself with an organization led by a man with such a flair for self-destruction, you see."
She clucks her tongue:
"Don't misunderstand either. You need a sailor and that's exactly what you are going to get. I don't ask you to share any of your secrets with me. In fact, I would be far more comfortable if you didn't. Just pay the check and make sure that I don't associate with any of the religious nutjobs on your crew, if any, and I think you and me will get along just fine. Plus, from the looks of some of these posters, I suspect that you didn't have much success so far. Clearly, your approach could use some refinement. I believe I would be able to help you with that as well."
She quirks an eyebrow at the mab in question:
"Now, if that satisfied your curiousity, I would very much like to hear what shall it be?"

Mealir smiles thinly and answers
"A plausible story at least, i'm "safe". Very well, i'll pay the check. I need some sailors and sailor you'll be, you won't find much bigotry either."
The man taps the flier swiftly
"And i'll you use your help about this too. Though I had some success so far, I don't spit on good ideas."
After a moment he adds
"In any way I'll contact you and the others in the next days, to meet. There is much to do before the ship is completed, and it will be a good occasion to answer any questions ."

A young cheerful fellow can be seen at the 'shore asking after a certain Mealir on whose behalf recruiting notices have been posted at various inns and wayfarer stations.
Unable to find Mealir, he leaves the latter a note at the Friendly Arms Inn.
Greetings and salutations, monsieur Ostirel. My name is Maximilien Roguespierre, though anyone who knows me even a little just calls me Max. I have seen your advertisement and am intrigued by the opportunity to put out to sea as it were. Given the thrust of your post you seem inclined to embark not as a freebooter but perhaps to hunt the very buccaneers who have given the 'shore such a.. colorful reputation.
I cannot claim to be an experienced hand at crewing a ship or at anything else for that matter but I am willing to do my best (short of dying or the equally unappealing prospect of becoming a cabin boy) to earn the generous pay that you have on offer. Indeed, I can promise that I will use all of the skills that I possess to ensure the success of whatever enterprise is to be undertaken.
Yours,
Max Roguespierre

A new message can be read on most posters.
To those interested : a meeting will be held in four days at the Blade and Stars Inn in Baldur's Gate.
Wages and gold questions will be discussed, other questions will be answered as well. Miss the meeting, miss opportunities !
Ale and meal will be paid, new heads are still welcomed.
// Next friday, 7 October, at 22h GMT !
