/OOC Often There is a number of in game props/clues for my plots. These only remain as temporary features while server is up. To provide an indication of when such clues are in game there will also be present an NPC 'Sparty' at FAI, north of Mudd. Also located at Market Building Sshamath Central,(When clues/drops relate to Upperdark/Underdark) IE if he is in game - some plot clues will be also be present. (this may save you unnecessarily looking for things when they are not there ie no 'sparty' no clues)

Other clues are held with PCs and as persistent documents and designed to encourage RP

WEEKEND EVENT starting Friday 8th June 7pm - Sunday 12 Midnight GMT

Two undead rivals, Polvich the lich, and Efar the Dracolich, have been active on the Coast and are odds over something, there have been reports of sporadic clashes between their dark supporters. Arkall Steadfast, an Undead Hunter, recent to the Coast delivered a report at Nashkel and further to this he suggests the pair and their followers are searching the Coast for necromancers Bones among the graveyards and places of burial, haunted or otherwise.

There is a chance to influence their behaviour here he declares, Guilds should consider whether to let the status quo be, or to drive the pair further apart, or draw them closer as allies for whatever consequence it may hold, by collecting these bones ahead of the twin terrors.

OOC (the game)

Between the times and dates stated items 'bones of the coast' will be dropped in game for players to find.

(as above if Sparty is at FAI clues may be around)

Guilds that find 3 or more may influence the behaviour of the pair by voting in which direction to move their dispute. Guilds finding 5 or more may opt to take some direct action in this plot.

Changes will be played out by DM after the event.

There will be one event a month for 5 months till concludes.

There will be other smaller scenarios along the way reflecting any changes.

If require any further explanation or rp support let me know.

As per previous post. The twin Terrors has started. Items in obvious places may be well hidden. Items in less obvious places or dangerous places, not so. (interpretation of where the dead are buried is liberal.)

The Twin Terrors.

There are rumours the Cultists of Polvich are active on the Coast gathering bones but they have been beaten to the find on three occasions by adventurers. At least another 7 sets of bones remain unaccounted for and perhaps still out there. Whether these bones will ever find their way into the hands of interested Guilds remains uncertain.

OOC

Plot running over weekend as per previous entries above.

Word sweeps the coast faster than Pokey sells potions, agents of Efar and Polvich have found what they can at the Fields of the Dead and have taken off by devious direction intent on escape with their burden of bone.

WEEKEND EVENT starting Friday 8th June 7pm - Sunday 12 Midnight GMT

This has concluded. Thanks all took part and engaged in rp, Those who recovered bones of the coast have until next Sunday to RP, sell, trade etc when results of any changes will be enacted. (Please contact me)

IC
It seems by all accounts for the moment the search by both Guilds and Undead followers has moved away from the Coast. Many groups of individuals were seen scouring old graves during this time and the picture remains uncertain. Ancient bones have been seized but to what effect!

Orcs were said to continue to covet silver and have attracted the ire of some other traders.

There is talk of an expedition into the Troll Claws somewhere to recover a group of slave workers. Likely more detail may spill out in due course.

Druids and Rangers ranged far and wide these last few weeks gathering information as an unexpected source of gossip.

An outbreak of ill heath, and death in the docks of Baldur's Gate centred on Darius brothers charity work. Indeed initially blame fell there but the OSR were quickly on the scene saving many lives and uncovering deeper meaning to the Candlekeep wagon. Likely here too more detail will soon be forthcoming after local discussions.

More news spills out about rescued miners from the Troll claws. By all accounts, and there are many, it is nothing short of miraculous that 47 enslaved miners, some held captive for many years have been rescued by an expedition led by heroes of Bladestone and Candlekeep. These miners have been taken to Candlekeep for care and early reports suggest they were captured by Trolls and tricked by Devils over the years from the surrounding region. Many more have perished in enslaved service clearing an old mine of any silver. Those that survived praised their rescuers and called for action against the Devils.

to work better as allies (sharing out the bones ) or

drive them further apart as enemies. (destroying the bones/giving them to only one faction)

Two undead rivals, Polvich the lich, and Efar the Dracolich, have been active on the Coast and are odds over something, there have been reports of sporadic clashes between their dark supporters.

Rumour has it they have been collecting necromancer bones, this effort was strongly thwarted by various Guilds, and individuals sensing a profit, who supplied Guilds.

In the aftermath of this exchange some things seem certain to the campfire gossips.

There was a grave shortage of bones as the Elder Circle made a public meeting of their destruction of bones, and there are reports other bones too were secretly destroyed by another Guild, leaving the Cultists to fight ever more grievously over those that remained.

This threatened to lead to an all out war between the two, however this was averted at the last moment by what seasoned campfire toast makers are calling a secret attempt by persons unknown to strike a deal with both factions; Bones were certainly brought to the necromancers table.

The current position then is the two Undead factions have been influenced to take their rivalry to another level, this is likely to divert their resources away from routine mayhem and Coastal Chaos, but stopped short of outright war between the two.

They have moved on their activity to another area of deparavity and Undead Hunters seek to uncover the latest truth and we must watch and be ready for further activity.

In other news 47 miners recently rescued from a Devil run Troll Claw mine, now played out, have begun the process of being re homed by the Guild at Candlekeep and the Bladestone. There can be no return to that place with Devil, Troll and Orc presiding over the area. A company from Amn also claimed ownership of the mine but it was not expected they would return till things were safer.

Just another week on the Coast. (thanks all for playing)

Recently there have been signs that once again the supporters of these two factions have been gathering on the Coast with some specific task in mind. Where adventurers have come into contact with them it is said the adventurers have won but not without casualty. Whatever they may have learned has not been made known to this Bard.

Arkall Steadfast, an Undead Hunter, reports that he believes they are investigating some Undead divination which he hopes to obtain a copy of soon. Until then all clues should be reviewed and examined carefully.

OOC July event going to be early (due to DM availability) Saturday 30 June (one server setting likely around 5-8pm gmt depending on server resets)

Elsewhere rumours of the Orc onslaught being tempered by gathering resistance to their open hostility suggest spies, mercenaries, and bounty hunters have been spotted operating in the north. Even some trolls have taken advantage of the changes to mount raids.

Arkall Steadfast, an Undead Hunter, is reportedly now armed with the information he sought. Undead divinations, old rumours and other necromancer collections that may explain their current actions. He is reputed to be hot footing it to the Coast as fast as he can.

There are said to be other snippets of information wallowing in the mud within the ditches of the coastal rumour mongers. Uncovering these clues may be harder than buying a drink at the Arms, but it may be worth more especially prior to the next occurrence.

(Grow your network ask the questions some PC may have an answer or two, or not of course)

Arkhall Steadfast reports. (THIS GAME IS RUNNING NOW WHILE SERVER UP)

It seems the the Polvich Cult has been gathering information from both research and divination of a sorts. It has left them with a collection of riddles by way of answers, each group of three points towards the location of a single spell scroll. There are then five scrolls in total.
The Efar Cult stole a copy of the clues from a necromancer of Polvich, and I, from them.

So time is of the essence and I distribute the riddles along the Coast that like-minded groups may find them before all is lost.

1.
Hall ghost ant ran re, this clue within
Circles within squares within circles
Mouldy bread festers in the dark above a skeleton

2.
Baldurs interacted guy, is mixed up
A tale of two crypts a temple and a tower
For this soul don’t cry Ptolmy, for he is hidden within

3.
Lost inside, grim aroma crack
Higher than company born of ember
Here the master of the blade shares his patch with the would-be dragon

4.
Skald Kus, reveals this cave
Wades knee deep in the stuff of life
Where it falls it crashes it reveals

5.
This clue needs you, to restore
you cannot see the trees for the forest or can you
So go east young adventurer

OOC while server up 5 clues remain in play (no DM required)
Guilds who end up with one spell may influence the factions in the usual fashion. Possession of two or more allows a more direct action. For other groups or individual players the value of a find is RP, perhaps wealth, and whatever trading brings.

Twin Terrors OOC

OOC (the game)

Now after the event is to allow time till Sunday 15th for players to get any found spells to Guilds, and for Guilds to declare their intention for those spells. (options as detailed below)

Guilds who end up with one spell may influence the factions in the usual fashion. Possession of two or more allows a more direct action. For other groups or individual players the value of a find is RP, perhaps wealth, and whatever trading brings.

Guilds that possess 1 or more may influence the behaviour of the pair by voting in which direction to move their dispute.

IE encouraging the factions, Cultists of Polvich, and Cultists of Efar,

to work better as allies (sharing out the spells, allowing a single spell to be accessed by both )

or

drive them further apart as enemies. (destroying the spells/giving them to only one faction)

Guilds that possess 2 or more may opt to also take some direct action in this plot. Contact DM for a specific in game action/game in a direction of their choosing.

Changes will be played out by DM after the event. Thanks to all who have got involved so far and driven some RP before, during and after events.

Arkall Steadfast, an Undead Hunter, was reportedly seen in meetings at Soubar and Gullykin before moving swiftly on for his own safety. It seems the Cults are active in eliminating their enemies. This was further confirmed by an attack on an adventurer Natariel who was reputedly in possession of a Lich spell.

The fate of the spells and the reaction by the Cults still hang in the balance, it is expected things will become clearer soon.

//reminder of Sunday 13 th deadline for those with spells thanks.

There have been muted reported of some large scale action in the ruins of the Upperdark. A clash between Devils, Drow, Orcs, Undead and who knows what. Talk of Devils and Orc as one force. All the usual ingredients of untold trouble at least this time it was in a far away place and beyond the light.

Nearer to home for many was the loss of a wizard around Corm Orp and though her escort of two warriors were found apparently slain by the local wolves, she was never found.

The conflict between the Lich Polvich and the Dracolich Efar continues as the pair quibble if not fight over some magical prizes.

It is reported that Guild activity has maintained a certain status quo this month in the curious case of the loathsome liches. Agents and associates of the Elder Circle openly destroyed some lich spells, others apparently were found by the Cults or Guilds and handed to the Liches in some secret pact.

The result was the twin terrors continue their intense rivalry short of out and out war as the strive for some goal that the Guilds may or may not have uncovered for no word of it has emerged.

Sightings of unusual Orc movements in the Upperdark continue. One report suggests some disenfranchised Orcs were spotted on the move from the Northern Tradeway bound for the Upperdark and promises of greater glory and Devilish allies there.

//OOC Thanks all for playing, plots will be on hold as Spartacus goes on a summer campaign at the weekend, and questions or actions before or after then please.
