Background:
After spending countless years earning his robes studying at the achademy, Gerov was sent on a task by his superiors to put his learning into application. Leaving his homeland, the tharch of Eltabbar, Gerov set off to foreign lands with a group of fellow wizards in an attempt to find ancient Imaskari artifacts as tasked. After years of travels and countless hardships Gerov's band finally ended when ambushed by a large group of trolls North of Baldur's. After a long and harsh battle, it was pretty clear that the group was not prepared for battling trolls and a lack of fire and acid spells left the group helpless to the trolls regenerate powers. One by one the groups protective spells failed, as a last ditch effort Gerov threw out a spell to confuse to trolls, quickly ran behind a tree and while they were distracted fighting each other, quickly shape shifted into a troll himself. By the time the confusion wore off the trolls Gerov appeared as one of them and blended in as best he could. While the trolls feasted on his companions, he wandered further south along the Sword Coast. After casting a sending home to explain the events of his travels, he was instructed to seek out the local enclave that was being established in Baldur's Gate. Eager to make something of himself and with no path to follow now, Gerov hopes to join the local enclave of fellow wizards from Thay in order to gather further knowledge and power.
Hook/Goals/Misc Info:
Curiously, when in combat and low on spells Gerov can often be seen turning into a troll to the horror and dismay of his enemies. After observing first hand the ferocious power of the creatures he utilizes it to his advantage, even as repulsive as the creatures truly are. Gerov's goals is to increase his knowledge of the weave and bolster his arcane mastery to become a prominent wizard in the realms...or if that plan fails maybe one day he will find a nice cozy wood and live out the rest of his life as a troll under a bridge...
