Background:
Grew up at an orphanage, parents are unknown.
At the age of eight, he and a couple of friends where a pure menace in the streets of Beregost and Naskel, stealing from merchants and civilans when ever they could, and what ever the could.
At the age of eleven Jan where taken in as a servant at Felderspost In. There he where taught how to read and write, stock keeping and so on.
Jan grew up to be a big young man. Got inlisted in the Naskel army as a Foot soldier. Where the frontline out in the hills when the giants attacked the walls. To bad for Jan he where the highest in a group when a giant took a swing at them, he where struck in the head by a glancing blow, removing helmet and cracked his skull open revealing his brain. His right eye where torn out of it's socket, several teeth knocked out, Jan had bit of his own tongue.
After the battle the giants retreated back to the hills and regrouped for another attack.
What where left of Jans group where dead or dying and the army simply didn't have time to help them, leaving them on the battlefield. Hours later Jan awoke more dead than living near a small waterstream, where he where found by a group of miners. To Jans luck they had a barber surgion that saved his life. The surgion made a crude metal plate that he grafted to his skull protecting his brain.
Though he looks like hell, Jan are a calm shy young man when he's not the frontline in a battle.
