Diary of Dawnsinger of Lathander

This day I have taken up my quill to this journal to tell my tale. I am Tara Rahn, sister of the Ranger of Mielikki Hans Friederick Rahn. I am a fighter and a priestess of Lathander. Until recently I have only been a sellsword. However with the troubles I've seen developing in the lands that stradle the Trade Way north of the Kingdom of Amn. I think that we of the Sword Coast should look closely into the origins of these troubles before we rush into war between a small city-state like Baldur's Gate and a larger nation-state like Amn.
I worry mostly for the people of the smaller towns and villages that dot the lands between Baldur's Gate and Amn. I grew up in Beregost and was schooled at the Temple of Lathander there where as a young adult served as a soldier in their Templar Guard. Now I am a Dawnsinger or a priestess of Lathander and still am a fighter in his service.
If asked to defend my town and my faith I will rise up and offer my sword and shield to the service of a just cause. I will not march off only half informed and without knowing the full truth of that cause.
Just so you know over eighteen years ago I was born to a couple that owned a small farm outside Beregost. I grew up helping my brother help our parents. Once I was at services in the temple of Lathander when I strayed from my parents and found the training hall of the Templar Guard. I watched their warriors pacticing with weapons. I asked if I could try the archery and sword targets. I found my first vocation.
