Background
Born as a lesser male in a typical Lolthite house, Selds’eth endured much growing up. From the daily beatings from his mother and sisters, to the weapon master of the House bleeding him during his training with the sword. He knew pain. He grew to expect it, long for it. His only moments of lucidity came when he studied with one of the lesser House mages. Jarr’yl taught him how to embrace the pain, turn it into a fuel to fire his anger. Taught him that death isn’t the end of usefulness.
Over time Selds’eth was exposed to Kiaransalee. Jarr’yl educated him in her teachings, secretly…away from prying ears. His skill with a sword improved with time. He envisioned a day when he could cut the throat of the weapon master, raise him as one of the undead…only to kill him again. That day wouldn’t come for Selds’eth. His time within the city of Maerimydra would draw to a close before his wish could pass.
The matron mother of House Olonrae ordered Selds’eth to accompany Jarr’yl on a journey. To act as his weapon while outside the city. Selds’eth knelt into a bow of acceptance and turned to leave after being dismissed by his mother. He saw the wicked smile from beneath Jarr’yl’s hood as he walked past him. The matron mother continued with the specifics of the journey once Selds’eth had left the room.
He was to leave the city, acting as a protector of a House mage. He knew not where he would travel, or for how long he would be gone. He only knew not to disappoint his mother.
Goals
His goals are to protect Jarr’yl from the dangers of the Underdark, to learn more of the teachings of Kiaransalee…and to one day kill the weapon master of his house.
Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts
Perhaps an encounter with a priestess of Kiaransalee somewhere in the Underdark. His old teacher and current weapon master of the house could come to check Selds'eth and Jarr'yl's progress.
