1# I Hereby begin this set of research notes about my quest to find the meaning of Kirate'ykh, the best way to destroy vampires... And the seas. I beleive the meaning of Kirate'ykh might as well be hidden in Ilefran ruins, but first i must recognise if it is an ilefran ruin. So far, the ruins around the Friendly Arm Inn, North of Beregost had no luck with, prehaps in the Candlekeep Library? Prehaps. This heap of papers and notes one day will be made into a single book, that i am sure of. I will explore all of the ruins i can posibbly explore that is relatively safe for my combat prowess, i've lost much of my strength when drifting the seas...
Table Of Contents :
1# Introduction and table of contents
2# The "Ilefran" Ruins around The Tradeway, north of the Friendly Arm Inn
3# The ruins north of beregost.

. These Beautifully made ruins are nothing but a shadow of their former glory, inhabited by kobolds on the first floor, it's been throughoutly vandalized, many of the old statues have marks of bludgeoning, and thus destroyed beyond comprehension. I beleive the kobolds hid there for the distance from the tradeway and the farms, as to harass the menfolk and the other races. It seems to be constantly reinhabited, no matter my cleaning efforts for helping my research. I beleive there must be a tunnel system to major kobold inhabited area? Prehaps, if i can i will find it and close it, but i doubt so.
. The kobolds seem to flock to the area in castes, led by a chieftain or a pair, assited by their shamans or druids, and raider at last but not least. Their Shaman seems to be a relatively unexperienced user of the Weave, prehaps it hints to the constant raids by travellers and adventurers seeking challenge, as they can't supply the strongest magicians every next day. The chieftain is of no fight to a proper explorer, but to those anew to the life of expoloring, he is a fatal encounter. He uses spear and shield or a club, often backed by his bodyguards or just the usual warriors. The warriors are rather quick, able to outmaneuver the strikes of a slow swordfighter, but once used to them, one can strike freely.
. The Second level is much more dangerous, and more vandalized, only a single fountain or statues left standing by the bladelings, and it seems a green wyrmling has made it it's home, They greatily had my research halted until i became stronger. The bladelings seem to be capable of casting spells, most of time mind affecting types, similiar to the Circle 0 spell, daze.
. The wyrmling is obviously a young one, after slaying it i've found that it's lair only held a few hundred, or at best a thousand gold. But it seems to be an entire nest of them somewhere nearby, prehaps they hail from Durlag's tower's inhabitant black dragon? I don't know... Yet. Every time i visit for research, a new wyrmling seems to take over the former's treasures. Well That's about the Fauna, off to the Architecture

. The Architecture after proper research is obviously Ilefran, unfortunely greatily vandalized, propably by the Bladelings and the kobolds, wyrmlings aren't known to destroy beautiful architecture, prehaps make it their own by taking them to their lair, but destroy them no. The First floor seems to hold statues of warriors, prehaps it was a former burial ground of great warriors. Which means that no draconic scripts.
3#
. On the second level a grand statue of a bearded warrior with a mighty sword stands, still in shape. I beleive it may have been a great and important general, but i need refference.
4,5# Unfortunely, if there was, they have been pillaged already or vandalized by the kobolds...
Conclusion : The ruins are obviously a former burial ground, destroyed by the primitive kobolds and bladelings. My quest on Vampires and the Kirate'ykh had no fruit here. But it was a good experience exploring this place. The Area seems connected to an underground system leading to the Friendly Arm Inn.
*With a hurried hand writing, the following notes were added*
chal jow, Kirate... I've found this inscription on a scroll the resident wyrmling was guarding. I beleive it may be related to the Kirate'ykh. i've managed to translate Chal jow to Hidden Star... I wonder if there is something more to this pharse. My suspicions of it being related to the sails, as stars are often used in navigating ships...
