A chill Nightal morning. The grass is dewy in the Farmlands, the fields bare, the animals in their barns. Within the city of Baldur's Gate, early risers are sluggish and rub their hands together to warm up. Inside one building of the city, however, folks have been active for some time, stacking reams of parchment, sliding plates along a mechanical press. Paper-boys soon emerge from the office at the first light of Lathander, Gazettes tied with twine, heavy in their arms.

The Baldur's Gate Gazette is hot off the presses, they declare. The citizens of Beregost soon find this out as well as paper-boys shuffle their wares and announce the headlines. A few of the older and braver boys hawk the Gazettes near the Trade Way and outside the Friendly Arm Inn.

Elycia Innovius, editor of the Gazette, can be seen later in the day, assisting with distribution wearing her Candlekeep Reader robes. She sips from a large mug of cider as she does so, and offers a warm smile to all that she sees. “New issue..” she says, “Have you read it?”

A ranger clad in green obtains a copy of the paper. Settling down in a clearing, with his dog chewing contentedly on a bone, the ranger reads about the happenings of the land he has traveled to.

He frowns as he reads of the imminent war.

His face takes on a wistful expression as he reads about the elven ceremony of Corellon.

The ranger resolves to obtain a copy of the treatise on the dwarves and continue to work on his dwarvish.

A half-elf picks up a copy of the paper and settles down in the Elfsong Tavern to read it.

Upon reading about the war a smile flickers across his face as he thinks of all the oppourtunities to make coin and gain influence that such a war can bring.

As Hoihe travels from Candlekeep to the Friendly Arm inn to see if there are any new rapiers for sale, he hears a paper boy yelling about the new gazette... he walks over, and ask for a few copies, saying "I will bring some to those who can't leave the Keep for now" With the papers in his pack, and after he took his medicine... he curses under his breath to find that none is on... then heads back to the keep, settling the papers down on the tables of the Seeker's Quarters... Taking one with him to deeper inside, reading it. Once had done so... he smiles, and says " That has answered some of my questions that i couldn't get out of the books... Some vandal poured some alcohol on them. " then, the takes the papers back to the table... waiting to see should someone else take it.

The night after the ink dries, a similar dewy eve, an average looking figure in leather and a gray hood against the wind leans against a lamp pole just aside the road leading to the front gate of Baldurs. It's a woman with pale skin, standing casually as she flips through the Gazette. Not expecting to find anything she doesn't know, she raises a brow at the news of the Captains death.

"'The Rock', hm?" she mutters before tossing the Gazette aside for the wind to play with. She saunters off to the East without much more thought on it.
