Background:
Lyndis was born a bastard child to her human mother Paige in Calimshan. Horrified at her offspring, Paige snuck the newborn tiefling aboard a caravan bound for Ithmong in Tethyr, wanting nothing more to do with it.
Upon arrival, the tiefling babe was discovered and left at the side of the road to die; however, her cries were heard by an old blind musician, who took her in and raised her as his own.
The old man taught her what he could, sheltering her, and imparting a love for music; however, on Lyndis' eighteenth summer, he passed away. Struggling to make ends meet, she decided to hide what she was to the best of her ability, and began to play the lute at street corners for pocket change.
She slowly gained confidence as she earned more and more coin, but eventually those who would stop to listen to her music had demanded she remove her hood, so that they could see the girl who produced such a lovely sound.
Her compliance led to nothing but misery, as her yellow eyes and small horns gave away her true identity, and as more tension arose, she had no choice but to flee from Tethyr. Her feet carried her to the North, towards Baldur's Gate.
Goals:
Survival. Lynn has to make enough coin just to live on a day to day basis, and while her skills as a musician are great, she is hesitant to return to it as a profession.
Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts:
Lyndis commonly introduces herself as Lynn, never giving her full name.
Lyndis was a name given to her by the old musician. Devon was his surname.
Lyndis knows nothing of her true parents, other than being abandoned by them.
Lynn is quite shy, often becoming quiet around large groups, to avoid drawing attention to herself.
She is searching for ways to hide her heritage (Currently uses invisibility powder to hide her horns. Has been dispelled once before).
Lynn is fiercely loyal to those she trusts, which are few.
