A report made to the Flaming Fist

Unread post by LeslieMS »

//This needs an OOC preface. This report is actually on events that took place I believe about a week, maybe a bit more, ago. There had to be some coordination between myself and Seivery ((SSDemonizer)) around our differing real life schedules. This is a collective post written by both of us. This report is written and only includes information obtained by the end of that day when we 'went to file the report'. We were asked to go ahead and post this (better late than never) so here it is. Again, apologies for this taking so long to get posted. There was no DM on at the time so we were asked to 'file a report'.

Report ICly as follows//

Seivery and the Elf currently known as Eliania ((Ellivanna Ni’Alo)) approach the Flaming Fist Headquarters. They ask who they need to speak to about filing a report on a murder. They are directed to the proper person for such reports and ask to give the details. Elivania seems to be there as much for support as anything, Seivery begins her account of what happened:

“I’ve been assaulted recently," Seivery says quietly.

“Another Elf was murdered after we were attacked just off the Tradeway,” Eliania says as Seivery continues.

“This began in the Ruins, not far from the Friendly Arm Inn, I was just about leaving the ruins after massage delivery to researcher at lower caves, when I encountered a red-black dressed woman with the hood hiding her face and a pirate looking dwarf with an eye patch talking to another hooded man.”

Seivery seems more confident, though still rather nervous and continues quickly:

“I’ve tried to pass as unnoticed as possible…” She took a deep breath before saying another word. “… but the woman saw me. I figured that things gonna be even worse, she started her threatening, and the thing that shocked me the most is that she showed an elven, mummified ear. She said that she’s got a collection of them, as she also said she had 17 ears and mine should be 18th in her collection.”

The nervous elf stops her torrent of words long enough to take a sip of water, and continues.

“The dwarf, I suppose companion of hers played along with her all the time, and was not unfamiliar or bothered with the threats. It was a true miracle that I even managed to escape through the tunnels under the ruins, I just started running. After I’ve reached the surface I ran past the Friendly Arm Inn, but I saw a group of people at the campfire… and told them everything that happened. Some of them agreed to help as soon as I said the last word.”

“There was a dwarven healer, elderly woman… she thought to talk to this robed woman,” Eliania interjects. “There were others too, followed along as adventurers do. I went so that I might relay what happened to the Councilors of Doron Amar, and see to it that the information was brought here if needed.”

“There was something like eight of us, I don’t quiet remember… We’ve reached the Hilltop Ruins and encountered the hooded man, who also was the witness of their crime and he told us that those two has left this place recently and left some traps down there.

“Some fellows decided to investigate the Ruins for some clues, when the other part of our group, including me, was guarding the exit. Just as they went inside the pirate looking dwarf showed up. He was acting strange… he just tried to confuse everybody, saying that he saw me for the first time and acting like he was not involved with the robed woman, but that wasn’t true. After a few efforts to make him talk, out party decided to get him to the Fists…”

At this point Seivery looks frightened, and Eliania murmurs encouragingly for her to go on, and that she was safe.

“… But before we take a step to Baldur’s Gate the evil woman appeared and knocked down the entire party.”

“It was some sort of spell, she cast, made the ground very slippery, covered in thick goo that made it difficult for many of us to move,” Eliania supplied with her limited knowledge of the arcane, she guessed it to be a ‘Grease’ spell.

“The robed woman ran off. Part of our group ran after her... And I saw how she murdered our moon elf mate. He was attacked by her magic and an undead creature, vampire I suppose.”

“He had been crushed by powerful magic… some that I am not familiar with in my studies. The dwarven healer could do little for him so we wrapped him in my spare cloak and dragged him toward the temple of Tempus. Best guess is that he caught up with her, he was very fleet of foot, and they fought, or she attacked him outright. We were too far behind the woman to know for sure.”

“Once again, the group was together, but there was no sign of the robed woman or the other man who ran after her with us... or the vampire that robed woman was with. We lost sight of the dwarf due to the spell and in the chaos after.

"All we found was the body...With a bit of luck and help of those who survived we were able to drag our dead friend at the Gate’s to see a priest. At least we could bury him with honor, and Tempusite priests were closest and likeliest to do so… But he did more than that… He revived him and healed his wounds. We never did find the other companion that ran off with the elf who was killed…”

Seivery goes quiet and after a time, states there is nothing else she can recall. Eliania asks if there is any further information that they can supply, the two elves wait patiently, and once done with the report to the Fist, make their way to Doron Amar to inform the Council of a red robed magus hunting Elven ears.
