Fizzle-With a name like this, what could possibly go wrong?

Appearance: Older gnome, has an odd purplish hue to his skin, glasses which are always on crooked. Seems rumpled most of the time with various scorch marks and acid burns on his clothing. The results of his hobby.

Weight: Thin for a gnome (he forgets to eat)

Personality Profile: Very friendly manner. Loves new people but can never remember their names. Helpful, forgetful, terrible sense of direction, easily distracted.

Background: His origins are a mystery even to him. He doesn't even recall where he is from. Doesn't seem to bother him though. Not sure where his powers originate, and really doesn't want to know. He understands the nature of warlock powers of course but he chooses not to think about it.
His earliest memories are of his time as a brewmaster for a traveling inn in Ulturgard in the Western Heartlands. Patrons loved his special brews but every so often one of his new mixtures would end up exploding. This, as you might expect, resulted in his termination when one of his brews exploded in the face of a high ranking paladin from the city of Elturel. After that he wandered south to the Sword Coast with not a clue what he is going to do with the remainder of his life. He continues to “test” new mixtures just to see what they do. Most of the time they fizzle; which, by the way, is where he gets his name. In other cases, there is a spectacular explosion one of which resulted is his purplish skin. In stressful situations, even his magic fizzles at the most inopportune times. He takes it all in stride and approaches each new day with vigor and curiosity.
Goals: Not wake up dead in the morning.

Fizzle is the result of a summoning gone bad. He was captured by a sect of necromancers and used as a slave for some time. Somehow, during a summoning, a demon of great power escaped the wards meant to hold him and killed all the necromancers. He spared Fizzle in order to secure his soul in a pact bargain. In return for this power, he would serve the demons will here on this plane. However, as the demon was finishing his ritual, he was accosted by a team of paladins who had come to destroy the sect. The paladins defeated the demon sending him back to the Abyss for a millennium. Not knowing what happened to poor Fizzle, they took him with them and ensured he was cared for as his wounds healed. His amnesia is as result of the battle between the paladins and the demon as he got knocked around pretty good during the scuffle. He soon learned of his new powers but sought to keep it a secret as he wasn't sure where they had come from. However, he has learned to rely upon them more and more as time goes on.
