Habits/Hobbies:Habits: Laerdan has a tendancy to sing and hum constantly, even when talking with others. He is nearly always smiling, and he is very peckish about his clothes, given his profession, and keeps a spare set in his backpack for when he rests in taverns.
Hobbies: Laerdan makes up rhymes and songs not only as a profession, but also for fun. Every situation can be put into either poetry or song, in his eyes. He also likes to dance, preferably with a pretty lass in his arms.

Background:Laerdan was born of a human couple in Silverymoon, and grew up amongst the Elves there, learning their language, their traditions, and their history. When he was seven, he started training with their weapons, as Silverymoon was always a target for the Orc tribes of the North. Laerdan's love of dance drew him towards the rapier, where he was able to stay in motion.
A bright boy with a gift for words and storytelling, Laerdan apprenticed himself to a bard in the city and learned to make the unplausible seem likely, as well as helping settle disputes peacefully. It was this mediation ability that drew the boy into learning the Orcish language, thinking that if he could understand them and their motives, he might be able to forge some sort of truce and keep Silverymoon safe. For all his talents, Laerdan lacked the common sense to understand that some things cannot be mended.
Laerdan set off to travel the Realms, stopping in Neverwinter for a day before heading south to Baldur's Gate, where recent events promise rich stories for years to come...
Goals:Laerdan wishes to stop just telling the stories and actually be in them, and as a result tends to act on impulse instead of reason. As long as he keeps getting material for stories and songs, his appetite will not likely be sated any time soon.
Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts:Laerdan had an Elven wife, but she was killed by an orc raiding party, which stopped his trying to reach an accord between Elves and Orcs. In fact, Laerdan is severly anti-orc, and may use his diplomatic abilities to try to get tighter restrictions placed upon them, if not having them hunted outright.
