First Name: Janus

Last Name: Aurelius (Aurelius meaning the golden one in Celestial. A name given to him by his Solar superior, in recognition of his heart of gold.)

Appearance: A young, apparently human man. Though he bears some signs of his extraplanar origins, for instance sky-blue eyes, charismatic and aesthetically pleasant looks, sun bleached blonde hair and a voice that is both innocent and compelling.

Race: Aasimar. Some generations back, Janus had a celestial Deva in his family tree, a servant in the House of the Triad.

Age: Biologically, seventeen years old. Although time flows differently in the House of the Triad, so spiritually, he might be older

Height: Average, although he appears more imposing

Weight: Average, very muscular and fit

Eyes: As blue as a cloudless summer sky

Hair: Sun bleached sandy blonde

Facial Hair Style: None. He cannot grow a beard due to his celestial heritage.

Personality Profile: Janus is generally calm and friendly, around women he is especially shy and insecure, due to his secluded upbringing in the House of the Triad. He is loyal and philantropic, and has a very emotional and sentimental streak. He suffers from bouts of melancholy at times, especially when contemplating all the suffering and evil of the world. The only time where Janus is angry or hostile is when he percieves that his paladin code is being ridiculed, or especially around the fiendish. Janus has a seething hatred for all things infernal and abyssal, and has devoted himself to cleanse their scourge from the Prime. This is generally due to the aeon long war between the upper and lower planes, that Janus has actively taken part in.

General Health: Very healthy. Torm has granted Janus immunity to all illnesses and sicknesses, whether natural or supernatural in nature.

Deity: Torm

Initial Alignment: Lawful good

Profession: Paladin

Base Class & Proposed Development: Paladin (30)

Habits/Hobbies: Janus is very well read and educated, due to his upbringing in the celestial realm. He likes to gather knowledge both planar and extraplanar. Otherwise, his duties and habits are usually tied up with his calling as a paladin, which leaves preciously little time for hobbies.

Languages: Common, celestial

Weapon of Choice: Duty's Bond - Torm's greatsword

Background: Janus' home is the House of the Triad, the celestial plane of Tyr, Torm and Ilmater. Janus never knew his family, for they had died in some sort of horrible event, that was never told to the young knight in complete detail. All that he knows is that his dying mother was brought to Torm's divine realm, Trueheart, by a group of archons and devas, in order to save her unborn child. Perhaps Janus was saved to continue the divine bloodline of his deva ancestor, or perhaps for other reasons. Janus' mother died in Trueheart, severing any ties that the paladin-to-be had to the Prime material plane. He was told only a vague description of these circumstances from the archons and devas that raised him, and his surrogate family then consisted of the other orphans and petitioners of Torm who resided in the divine realm, as well as a couple of planetars and a kind, old solar, who oversaw his training.

The young knight received an education in first and foremost the tenets and belief of Torm, as well as his paladin order. He also received much knowledge of all things planar, especially regarding his divine home plane, as well as knowledge of the infernal and abyssal realms, that he may efficiently repel their evil influence. As a young man, Janus participated in several large combats against both demons and devils and even worse fiends from unspeakable planes and worlds, and yet he was told that in order to truly be a paladin of Torm, he must go to the Prime to receive his final lessons.

Thus came the day when the young knight was led out to the gates of the celestial realm, and bid to travel to the Prime to await Torm's guidance to show him his path.
With his only knowledge of the Prime being second-hand, and his experiences in the heavens above as a beacon and spiritual guide for his life in the mortal world, who knows where his path will lead now?

Goals: To spread the influence and code of Torm among mortals. To do good, be honourable and valiant, loyal and true. To vanquish evil in all its forms, and to never allow demonic and devilish taints to fester in the hearts of men. To learn first hand of the Prime, of the mortal life, and perhaps eventually return to his lost paradise again.

Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts: Janus' rather special background and his ties with the House of the Triad. What mysterious quests and ordeals has Torm in store for our young friend? Will he become a beacon of hope in a world of mortal men, or will his light succumb to the looming darkness after all?
