Background: Born into a small, highly isolated village in the Marching Mountains of Calimshan, she was always more interested in her studies of anatomy and physiology than in playing children's games. Why throw a ball around when you can instead observe and record the efforts to obtain flight, and the size and number of circles performed by a beetle with one wing? Her disassociation from the more gentle emotions continued as she reached adulthood.
She spent a decade studying surgery and operating in the renowned Infirmary of the Benevolent Hand, one of the premier "hospitals" in Waterdeep.
She is moderately misanthropic and considers that most humans are on a par with pests.
Goals: For now she seeks to establish a base of operations in Baldur's Gate where information not readily available through normal channels can be obtained, and thereby to grow in influence and power which should more easily permit her to continue with her surgical experiments.

General info: Unlike most Genasi who are noted for being volatile and wildly moody and passionate, she is simply cold and often quite unemotional. Her studies and "scientific" approach to her interests leave little room for compassion.
At one time during her teenage years she became fascinated with the Abyss and sought out places from where she could observe it with relative safety. As the saying goes, after a while the Abyss looked back at her.
With a deliberate effort she is capable of making friends, and can be fiercely loyal though she would never think of it that way. Her friendship is a strange thing, and although most people think it is based (liked most friendships are) on a growth of affection due to time spent together, and the connections that are made during those times, Lashar-kai's emotional connections are actually more like those of a collector. She may value you highly for some factor of your personality that pleases her or fulfills a need, and she will fight to the death if need be to keep you in her collection, in the way that some men will defend their most cherished possessions from thieves. Were you to leave her life she would not feel true sorrow, but your absence would leave a void that would always ache.
She does not have much of a sense of humor, and most jokes do not resonate with her at all, but she can be viciously sarcastic at times which others often find amusing.
