Background:
Vanya was born in an elf village named after the elven word for peace, a tiny one in the forest of wyrms, set within the trees itself. She was but 7 when a warband of orcs with many shammans attacked her tiny village. Her mother leena was struck down with many arrows and died, Vanya saw this but is convinced her mother is merely sleeping. The orcs slew all the adults and took the children as slaves.
Vanya grew up in an orc cave, never being let outside of it. She was made to prepare food, this food sometimes being other elfs, dwarfs, humans , kobolds, goblins or whatnot. They feed her dwarf feet at times not liking this part of the dwarfs. She also cleaned up refuse and orc droppings. She was beaten severely and often , mostly for sport. She only knew a few elf words and was taught a few common words by a human slave, and a few sylvan words as well by a captive pixie whos wings were cut off by the orcs. When she speaks it is often a jumble of many tongues or incomplete sentences or complete non sense as she mixs up what little words she knows at times that are not orc.
If the slaves did not work well enough or became sick for to long they were marked with a brand and a tattoo of one eye, that of gruumsh and thus marked as a feast meal for the next holy day. One day vanya became very ill, and was marked for a feast. One half orc was nice to her, a half orc orc whom had pressed relations on her. This half orc let her chains off one night before the feast and used a spell to make her invisible so that she might escape. This act was probably the only good act this half orc ever committed in his life.
After escaping she found herself on the road outside baulders gate days later and met a mean cleric who made her work for him , telling her she would be killed or hurt if she didn't obey. Being used to holy men meting out horrid punishments and an intense fear of anything holy or divine she did as bid. After a time she was let go by the evil priest. She then met Thalandon and spent a long time trying to tell him what had happened. He took pity on her and brought her to doron amar where she might be looked after and taught civil ways.
She has an intense fear of holy men and things. She now also has a moderate fear of elfs now after meeting an elf named emeron who threatened her harm after she bravely ventured into baulders gate to trade some of her special treasures such as her orange fork, a dead mouse , a dead rat , a kobold head with one eye missing, an up rooted fancy blue flower, a fancy brown stone, a red glass bead, a stolen wizard hat and a orc ear necklace she had made herself. This elf demanded she sell all her treasures to him for round yellow metal bits or she would be hurt. She is now terrified of unknown male elfs who wear any metal.
She believes people can be taken and owned as if it were a normal thing, for whatever reason they wish to own a person. She liked one half elf named Kimberly and claimed her as her very own, marking Kimberly with an eye. While vanya would most likely not try to make her new slave work she thinks she "owns" her friend kimberly, all though this "ownership" is more like a territorial friendship.
She has a taste for dwarf feet and struggles seeing dwarfs as anything other then food at times, although now through much trial with new found friends shes accepted the fact that they are not supposed to be eaten, even if still still craves their feet.
She lacks civility, and will often snarl and hiss at anything she is afraid of, which is many things and people. She is fearful of the night sky thinking the blinking stars are foul magik out to get her. Trees making noise in the wind scare her, strange animal noises such as frogs scare her.
She refers to orcs as "tusks" and not orcs as it was forbidden to the slaves to call them orcs. She at the present time still views orcs as powerful , stronger then any race or being, and considers it mere luck the orcs her friends killed around her died.
She desperately wants to learn to be better then who she is, but struggles hard trying to comprehend even simple things and customs others take for granted. She still see's herself as sub standard and refuse as the slaves were conditioned to seeing themselves as such.
Goals:
To learn , live , love , find a home to belong to and friends to love and to cherish, to protect said friends and eventually become a champion for those who need someone strong. At some point her weakness's will become her strength when she overcomes her past.

Misc Facts: Is liable to trade a valuable object for something retarded like an orange fork or something sparkly even if it is worthless junk. Note she will not part with weapons or clothing. Has a penchant for eating digusting things. Has no sense of modesty or manners and is quite wild.
