Background:
Rashal's mother was an ordinary human commoner from Procampur seduced by a passing bard. His father's lineage is the source of Rashal's Fey Heritage. Rashal was given to temple of Oghma in Procampur while still an infant. Exact date of birth not known by temple, or Rashal. He grew up on the temple grounds of The Golden Domes of Reason in Procampur.
He trained as an Acolyte of the Oghma Clergy, but to rebellious to accept life of formal priesthood. Much of his rebelliousness was attributed to his bastard bloodline. Rashal is much more pragmatic then most followers of Oghma, believing its better to go out and experience new things rather then read about them. As such, unless his lore studies interested him, he usually did fairly poorly.
Rashal used a pilgrimage to Candlekeep as a means of escaping temple beliefs he feels are more dogma and doctrine rather then Oghma's true purpose. The pilgrimage from The Vast to The Sword Coast also spoke to a sense of wanderlust and adventure inherited from his father. He keeps a journal of his travels which he will one day publish, and regularly prays about his adventures and experiences in Oghmite fashion.

Rashal is driven by a deep seated curriosity, both about the world and himself. He desires to learn more about Fey, and also is interested in True Name magic. He believes that Candlekeep might be the only place to help him learn his own True Name, allowing him to fully be able to understand himself, his purpose, and origins.
