When House Hun'ett, one of the most powerful and respected of Menzoberranzan, was destroyed by House Do'Urden after the sudden change of sides of Bregan D'Aerthe (consequently to the "famed" Jarlaxle's betrayal), Zilv'eari, disgusted with a Lolthite society continuously turning against itself, decided to leave the City of the Spider for Sshamath, hoping to find a more suitable environment for her ambitions and personal growth.
In addition, the incredibly strong divine powers manifesting in her since childhood were viewed with suspect by the Yath, as it was very unclear whether they were coming from the Spider Queen herself, one of her pet deities...or else.
She began her journey towards the City of Dark Weavings accompanied by a jaluk she was "using" for her pleasure at the time, which claimed to be coming from there. Unfortunately, he turned out to be a knife in the dark hired by Lolthite hands, and he led her right into an ambush a few candlemark's travel outside Menzoberranzan. Surrounded and alone, as she began calculating just how many she could gut before falling, a deep, thick shadow enveloped her, deflecting poisoned bolts shot at her and leaving her aggressors confused and hesitating...It was during this hesitation that a lone, black robed wanderer approached. He had a brief talk with the bandit leader, and as he kept speaking to him in a low voice, he casually pointed a finger towards one of the thugs, which fell lifelessly to the floor. Consequently, the assassin chief and his surviving men wisely accepted to be on their way with a fat purse of gold, and she stepped out of the shadow shroud protecting her to meet the Phantom Wizard, Valshar The Black: that was the beginning of a long-lasting, fruitful association. They were both directed to Sshamath for very similar reasons, and putting their thoughts together, reflecting on the signs (most evident of which the shadow shield itself), they concluded that the source of her divine powers could only be the Lady of Loss, Shar herself.
Now, her objective is to contact the cult of the Mistress of the Night and find out the goddess' plans for her, and how to fulfill her destiny.
