Defining moments of Celduil Selie: (created 3rd September 2011)
Nicknames: Celdui, Cemduil
Favourite Quote: “Ah, how enlightening. I believe I just had several epiphanies. Thank you.” (after the effects of a Owl’s Insight spell)
• Came to Baldur’s Gate escaping his old life
• Met Toshiro, learned of an organisation of druids and rangers called the Enclave of the Green Triad.
• Passed the initiation trials and became a full member of the Enclave of the Green Triad (now Elder Circle) (7th October 2011)
• After tracking a drow rumoured to be in the land, he encounters two people speaking to a Fist soldier with a dead drow over his shoulder. He follows them back to the FAI for more information. He learns they are Sir Haeman and Lady Angelina, holy warriors of Tyr and members of the Order of the Silver Rose (22nd October 2011)
• Meets Sehlanna of the High Forest (6th November 2011)
• Visited Doron Amar for the first time.
• Became romantically involved with Sehlanna, with whom he had more in common than anyone else (26th November 2011)
• Finds Sehlanna talking to a mob on the road and comes over to investigate. The conversation quickly escalates and becomes hostile. Sehlanna and Celduil are brutally dismembered on Fist grounds. A guard witnesses the attack and brings them all in for questioning. Celduil realises the Fist are corrupt after their attackers are let off scot free. Celduil becomes weary of Thayans (of whom their attackers were) from this point on. (2nd December 2011)
• Begins to realise Sehlanna is keeping secrets from him, and figures she had little regard for his own feelings when she abandoned him in the Festival of Corellon after promising she would spend the night with him. Misunderstandings ensue. (12th December 2011)
• Makes up with Sehlanna and they talk (in the heat of battle). (14th December 2011)
• Fought first dragon in the mines under Cloakwood (31st December 2011)
• Begins apprenticeship under archery instructor Leonia Leviran'laelv (3rd January 2012)
• Told Vino of his past (4th January 2012)
• Celduil asks Narindir for training against mages.
• Visits UD for the first time along with Narindir, Laisren, Saline, Knives and Catam. (8th January 2012)
• Sehlanna breaks it off with Celduil. He is devastated. (12th January 2012)
• Still recovering from the loss of his love, he hears a rumour from a friend that she may be dating Toshiro. (13th January 2012)
• Witnessed the first skirmishes of the Amn-Gate War (14th January 2012)
• Saves a family of Gullykin Halflings from Amnish Slavers (15th January)
• Saves the Mayor of Beregost
• Escorts the ward of an elderly monk from Candlekeep to the Friendly Arms Inn in prepararion for a great journey.
• During a battle against an uprising of orcs in the Sharpteeth, he confirms the rumour that Sehlanna was dating his boss (Toshiro). He is heartbroken when he sees them kiss. Causes fall-out and lack of trust with Toshiro, but till loyal to the Enclave. (16th January 2012)
• Convinced by a mysterious elf in his weakest hour that Doron Amar was using him, and worse, making fun of his easygoing nature behind his back, claiming that they weren’t actually the family to him they claimed to be. Because of losing his own family in the past and the importance of family to him, he loses it. Despite this, he still insists on fighting in the Gullykin battle despite his recent troubles.
• Is one of 4 left to defend Gullykin while the majority of the Doron Amar force attempts to destroy the catapults firing on the town. An Amnish force goes around the main elven force and attacks Gullykin head-on. The lack of defence results in the capture of Gullykin, despite the valiant and almost successful efforts mounted by the defenders against all odds. Celduil is taken hostage by the Amnish soldiers along with the other 3, until they are later liberated by passing adventurers. Loses faith in Doron Amar’s leadership. Alienates Celduil from Doron Amar.
• First taste of leadership while leading the defenders against the Amnish fort. With careful planning and the others following tactics well, the fort is defeated successfully, resulting in a victory for Baldur’s Gate. (17th January 2012)
• It is revealed that Sehlanna is pregnant with Toshiro’s child. He is convinced by a strange lady in black that he should trust nobody, keeping his own council, and critically evaluate his purpose in life. He is also told that Sehlanna never loved him, but was using him all along. It is suggested to him that he ‘change’, and become more apathetic if he truly wishes for others to respect him. The Force leaves him, and he turns to the Dark Side. (20th January 2012)
• His rendezvous with the Dark Side is cut short when he is reminded of his true friends. They are able to convince him that he was told a lie, and Sehlanna did love him. Sayiel promises to ask Sehlanna to meet with Celduil and discuss the situation so there is no misunderstanding between them. The meeting is never held. An annoying prank by Sayiel eases the burden. (27th January 2012)
• While out hunting in the northern mountains with Lambe, finds Celestia stalking them. He begins having concerns over Celestia’s welfare given her curious and naïve nature, warning her against travelling alone. (28th January 2012)
• Begins solo exoduses into the forests to meditate. (30th January)
• Upon returning from one of his exoduses, finds out two of the Councillors of Doron Amar have resigned from their posts. Also finds out the Elder Circle is suffering problems of its own. Concern over Celestia’s wellbeing heightens once more when he finds out she’d recently travelled to Durlag’s Tower alone.
• Hamstrung by Knives in new arena, meets Gyvari. (6th April 2012)
• Encounters a strange dwarf with one hand on the road claiming to be of the Elder Circle, looking for a ranger. The dwarf (Thergal) tells him of a drow sighting on the coast. They both investigate but find no drow. (8th April 2012)
• Returns to Gullykin for the first time since the war to find that it has been rebuilt. Reminded of what occurred there. (11th April 2012)
• Leaves for yet another exodus, his business not complete there.
• Toshiro steps down as High Ranger, leaving it to Lambe. Cel learns via letter while he is in the wilds. (20th April 2012)
• Returns when he is called back to the grove for a short period, finding out the dwarf he had met earlier was the new archdruid. Leaves again after the meeting. (28th April 2012)
• While trying to convince Celestia it is not wise to seek out drow, he agrees to go with Vino and Celestia to Durlags. He remembers he has business elsewhere and leaves for the Grove. (11th May 2012)
• Finds out while training with Doron Amar’s Mathora that Vino, Celestia and Cat were attacked by a drow shortly after he’d left. Feeling extreme guilt and regret he seeks out Vino. His past catches up to him.
• Meets Celestia’s cousin Briella, who threatens to take Celestia away.
