The Master's Will Be Done
/// A glimpse of the events from the "other side"...many thanks to the players involved (past, present and future).
Somebody told me I should do what they told me...
But there's a hole in that plan, and I'm tearing it down...

Re: The Master's Will Be Done
Deathlord Tagmadus read the reports without a trace of emotion on his pale face, a perfect statue sculpted from the purest white marble. His deep blue eyes moved from the scroll to his map, then back to the servant who brought the news. The Night Fliers had their uses, and made for excellent messengers. But this one had the misfortune of carrying displeasing ones...His cold stare went back to the map, as the ashes of the (now former) messenger were still floating in the air. He fingered distractedly the lace of his dark, elegantly embroidered coat, as he revised once more the failure at Mist Lake.
He was the Harvester of Souls...the whole Undead host at his command, and yet, a worthless dark elf soldier and a few representatives of the ludicrous sedicent merchants called Seventh Circle had thwarted his plans. His perfect plans, carefully laid out and easy to execute...but of course, he could not be blessed with USEFUL pawns...no...this Legionnaire proved to be a hyper-developed slime bag, and the slow and painful death he earned for his inability to carry out the simple tasks he gave him was only fitting. His tattoes glowed of a ghostly light as his anger brewed. They were men under the idiot's command: weaken their morale, spread the virus, push for desertion...the seeds were already planted...what could POSSIBLY be difficult to achieve? Yet the myconid-brained drow managed to fail.
And now, he had to watch himself from the Master's displeasure. The direct consequence of this defeat was a rushed schedule, and hurry was the worst enemy of a master strategist. Still, the preparations for the attack to Undrek Valanar had to be accelerated, it was not in discussion...the Master had spoken, and everyone would obey, and rightfully so. Who dares defy a god?
This X'drasst and his toy soldiers would soon be pieces on HIS own board (and he intended to make an example of their deaths, AND their "return"...a message for all the other defenders of Sshamath, a glimpse of their doom), and concerning to the Circle and this...Alienor...they would deeply regret stepping in his way... and being born in the first place...They would learn the hard way that a war is no place for traders, and a war against HIM is no place for whoever wants to keep on existing. His tall, slender figure turned around gracefully as he moved towards the exit of his tactical room, a large black tome under his arm. On his way out, he began quoting in a low voice his favourite passage in it:
"Awake O Dead, for there can be no rest for ye beneath the earth. Let the splintered bones burrow from the grave pall. Let cold fingers grip time-worn blades, and unseeing eyes survey the fields of slaughter. For your time has come once more. And the dead shall walk upon the earth."

Re: The Master's Will Be Done
Deathlord Tagmadus, The Harvester of Soul (or Messor Animorum, as they would have called him in Ancient Imaskar) leaned over the large tactical table in his War Room, pensively rearranging a few markers representing enemy troops and his own, configuring them in different attacking patterns and defensive formations. His eyes were closed, yet his marble-white hands moved quickly and surely over the "battlefield", knowing it by memory inch by inch. The Master would not tolerate another failure, but this time it did not matter: there would be none. He would lead the attack personally...
Satisfied, he stood in all his towering height, emphasized even more by his night-blue coat fitting snugly to his slender figure. In the dim light of the room, the pure white lace waving from his cuffs and neck and the elegant silver embroidery gave him an almost ghostly aspect, a spectral quality emphasized by his incredibly pale complexion, typical of his race.
The time has come, Tagmadus... .
As the voice spoke inside his mind, he turned towards the artifact with a grin: "Oh, yes...it certainly has. The final battle approaches...and this time, I will crush those vermin personally".
Of course you will, Deathlord...and I will be with you...I will make you invincible, a demigod, with powers far beyond those mortals can wield....
Tagmadus laughed a sinister laugh as he grabbed the Nightbringer, pulsating with a living, obscure power older than time itself. He kept on laughing as the sceptre whispered him the secrets of life and death...how great he was going to be after the Master's ascension...how his enemies were going to tremble and despair, begging for their lives during the battle and serving him in undeath after...
Bring me to the battlefield, Messor Animorum...Harvester of Fear, Harvester of Sorrow...swarm them with your hordes, crush them with your arcane might, feel their flesh tearing apart...their bones cracking...spill their blood and laugh, as they pay the price for opposing you...maim and kill them...bring them back and send them to slay their own...Undrek Valanar is a grave waiting for their butchered to fill it. It is inevitable. For the time has come...

Re: The Master's Will Be Done
This weekend (26th / 27th) the Conclave of S'shamath does battle with Illithilich attempting to besiege the City. There will be a series of big events that will shape the future of the Underground setting. Players of all colours can join up, not being restricted to Circle membership.
Do you have what it takes to deal with the Alhoon?

Re: The Master's Will Be Done
just to be clear that is what i did ;
in : my documents
never winter nights 2
Modules
i copy the folder: Baldurs Gate TSCC
created folder is Copy of Baldurs Gate TSCC
Right click on the copy and chose rename ; Baldurs Gate TSCC 2
i suspect it has to be right on to work ? bgtscc 2 or Baldurs Gate TSCC 2 or even Baldurs Gate TSCC2 ( no space for the 2 after last C ? )
I have no way of checking connectivity so i tought this might be important i guess.
Also to note i have a steam version of the game if the changes anything.

Re: The Master's Will Be Done
Magister Militum Guilhem of the Seventh Circle has sent a message to the Illithid Collective through the School of Divination requesting the fulfillment of the terms of the alliance against the aberration known simply as the Alhoon. The promised assets are to join up with the forces of Sshamath at Undrek Valanar.
The magister furthermore requests consultations with a representative of the Hive at the earliest possible opportunity.

Re: The Master's Will Be Done
/ooc Since i cant make it sadly ill make a note or two about what my house is about.
Ardulafae gazed at the looming darkness from her position in the center of the household lines. The House had assumed a wedge formation behind the lines preparing to counter any breakups in the city soldier's ranks.
Nalirin lingered in her shadow as usual minimizing exposure while preparing to counterspell anything cast at them.
Dearest sister Lilith had brought Velvelin and the lolthites to the forefront of the wedge where they chanted and sang as they slowly built up bloodlust and rage into the lolthite rank and file. Shri'neth was at her mother's side methodically checking the state of the arrows in her quivers.
Meanwhile the eldest Maral walked the rest of the formation boosting morale with jokes and bawdy songs. Les'en stood by her side as any proper daughter would awaiting order while idly singing to herself as she held up the House banner. Suddenly her brother spoke up: "It begins Ilharess".
As if on que sweet Sussuri came running out of the darkness to finally reach her where he stood panting afore her holding a hand up awaiting enough breath to give report.
Ardulafae gathered wind within her before bellowing out: "Murder! Prepare to fly!"

Re: The Master's Will Be Done
Rumors and correspondence by sending and all other forms of missives Arcane and mundane are sent to the conclave and filtered out to the city in storm of propaganda!
Undrek Valanar was won! Beyond all odds the defenders of the Great Walls of the ancients stood their ground many lost their lives and the casualty rates have not been substantiated but are reported to be disasterous. Cannibalistic Orc tribes, goblinoids of all creeds and sub-specie, Gnolls, and worg crashed against the beach head throught their transports, wave after wave the fodder forces were sent to decimate the defending army. Many drow, zhentarim, Duegar, even flayer allies bled together upon the field of battle for their very surival. As the Monstrous forces subsided, undead dropped from the ships further out, anchored in the middle of the still and murky lake to avoid the artillery fire hailing from the towers of the great fortifications.
The undead walk and fill the bottom the lake as they slowly encroached upon the shores. The defenders were given little reprieve as goblin engineers managed too sack a seige engine from the defensive tower network and use it against the defenders holding the beach-head. Quick action and bravery from those who were tasked to sentry the towers prevented overall catastrophy that may have doomed the defenders holding the lines upon the blood filled banks of the lake.
Commander X'drasst and his elite retinue along side acting Legionnaire Alienor directing her allied forces and the Sshamathian legions fought over the course of cycles to keep their hold of the line... The conflict raging over a course of several cycles. The Deathlord Tagmadus - desparate to end the conflict and rejoin his Master - ordered every creature living or undead, within his ranks towards the wavering defense force. His approach was rushed as he grossly underestimated the skill and resolve of all those who defied his might.
At the final moments of the battle a pair of draco-like fiends of undeath stormed the beach from high above the cavern, bearing done on the defenders in their savagery and mindless destruction. The enemy rallied behind these monstrousities, the undead footman advancing in the wake of these gargatuan engines of war. The meagar remains of the Sshamathian Coalition forces fought to the last man as the beasts made quick work of the stubborn resistance that the legions before them could not penetrate. Commander X'drasst preparing for the last stand, sent instructions to his field commanders to rally back to Varalla's Passage should they loose the battle and the walls of Undrek Valanar and a general retreat were to be sounded.
Defeat looked imminent but not this cycle....... With ferocity the survivors rallied to the beach head. The entireity of the seventh circle, a volunteer force under the great magisters cut down the Dracofiends and met the entirety of Tagmadus's forces head on. They did not sound a withdraw, despite so few remaining, despite their losses, despite the odds that out numbered them nearly fifty to one. In calculated movements the operatives of the circle held the front line against the enemy as Commander X'drasst's elite archers hailed the enemies only meters away from breaching the gates!
The howls of rage erupted from the enemy flagship who pulled anchor from the middle of the lake and employed bold and desparate manuever against the defiant. The ship, through arcane means headed directly to the shore, picking up speed at an unnatural rate from the normally calm and windless cavern lake. The Deathlord had gone mad! His losses so deep that his only choice was to finish the matter himself or face the wrath of his master. His ship headed for a collision course with the beach-head, using the vessel as a make-shift ram to smash through the defenses and eventually through the gates of Undrek Valanar. As the ship struck the beach, it careened into the defenders breaking their ranks momentarily, but just shy of the gate.
Undead began to pour out of the broken hull, several breaches in the ship were expoused in flame.
Tagmadus himself exited the ship and engaged in a battle to the death against his foes. Casting spell and summoning the dead to defend him he did not last long in the confrontation as he was slain by the allies his artifact sceptre, the Nightbringer was seized by the drow weavemasters to be secured in the vaults within the school of magic.
At the sight of their crazed master careening the ship onto the shore and the fall of the dracofiends... The monstrous fighters quickly lost morale and fled the beaches scurrying over their dead and wounded like rats fleeing a flooded nest. Hundreds fled to their transports and scattered back out to the lake in hopes of escape. Mercilessly, the towers found their targets and fired upon the enemy deserters crippling many a ship and igniting those on board to die in flame or to drown within the depths of the Mist Lake.
The battle was won, but the war is not over yet. A Correspondence reaches Commander X'drasst as he congratulates the surviving defenders and the legionnaire Alienor for her resolve. The communique warns that the Alhoon Tyraxaphelus has made it's move and heads towards the Varalla's passage with a large retinue. It seems that it can no longer wait for his general at the rally point or news has made it aware of the failure to capture Undrek Valanar. The Illithilch employs means of mass arcane transport to strike at Varallas, moving within range of Sshamath to unleash the Ancient Phaerimm artifact against the cities mythal.
X'drasst surmises that this attempt is an act of desparation on behalf of the Alhoon, who will not have ample enough reinforcements to occupy the city even if it manages to disable the Mythal and render the weave useless for a period of time. The goal of this creature must be the earthen node of which the school of magic and Sshamath itself draws it's power from! It is rumored the Alhoon seeks divine ascension beyond it's undeath and immortal means. If it has figured a way to harness power of the earthen node... all may be lost.
Without the illithilich's phylactery, without adequate forces to stop this madness, without a way to counter the artifact it intends to unleash.... there is little hope in preventing the horror that will come.
Though the Seventh and their allies have not discounted themselves from this fight..
\\The continuation of this event will resume at 6pm Eastern Standard Time today 5/27! I hope as many of you that attended can be here to join up on SERVER 2.
