James has begun recruiting for the first caravan escort. Wizards, healers, scouts, fighters, etc all welcome to volunteer for the task. The event will occur on Sunday, June 24 at 8 p.m. EST.

/// This is the board for sign ups so we don't overcrowd the normal City Relief Effort board. This is a single mission. There will be another one for the second caravan. ///

Hear Ye, Hear Ye

To all who have volunteered to come to the defense of trade caravans as we begin to push open the trade of Balder's Gate.

The Time Has Come.

Rally, my friends. Let us meet just outside of Balder's gate with the great convoy we will protect. Our mission is to safeguard the wagons and their contents out for trade and again back without losing cargo or lives.

I will not lie. This will be a very dangerous mission. Expect many bandits and assaults. As such we need adventurers, healers, wizards, fighters, scouts and everything in-between. Your unique talents could mean the difference between success or failure.

Please sign below this poster if you would like to be included in the convoy escort on Sunday, June 24. For security purposes our destination will not be divulged until after we are underway.

Mercy Bless You All,
James White the Second

Varlok Banlin notes the poster and takes a moment to jot his and his familiar, Gendel's name on the bottom of the poster. Gendal sits upon his shoulder and meows in approval at the wizard's fine penmanship.

Shialla smiles when she sees the poster. At last we do something.

She removes the small scribing box from her pack, dips a quill into a tiny ink bottle and writes quickly.

Shialla Shi'arroh at your service Saer White. I will see you at the allotted location.

She hesitates, then adds a little more.

In a battle situation I specialize in defending mages and archers from those who break through the lines, should this information be of use to you when planning.

Kestral will aid, but only because it's a convenient excuse to cast a bunch of spells and theres nothing Kestral likes better than casting spells.

Walking past the bulletin board on the way to Sorcerous Sundried, Varlok Banlin notices the response written by one Kestral Frye. Seeing the words, he smiles to himself and says to Gendal, "We shall have to speak to this Kestral, sounds like a very interesting individual." The small cat meows and bats at the edge of the wizards cloak. Then unceremoniously coughs a hairball onto the middle of the street, eliciting several disgusted looks from passerbys.

I will be online a 8 pm EST. However I will not be on prior as my family is celebrating the surprise wedding of my Aunt who apparently eloped two weeks ago and just announced it and therefore the family felt it necessary to have an immediate celebration. I have told everyone I will be leaving a 7:30 because of a prior engagement - so please feel free to gather just outside of Balder's Gate and I will be there promptly at 8 p.m. traffic and God willing.

THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO JOINED!

This was a MASSIVE event! I don't think anyone quite expected the turn-out but it was undoubtedly appreciated! Everyone handled the event very well and with some really fun and creative solutions to problems along the way.

As a heads-up there will be a second escort event to finalize the first stage of opening up land trade again. If you missed the first, or would like to participate again in the second - please keep an eye out. We'll keep you posted.

Also please give DM Darkshard a big Kudos and thanks! He handled an event that should have taken two or three DMs ALL BY HIMSELF! That was a LOT to coordinate and I'm sure he was bouncing back and forth and juggling tons of Tells and Emotes like a BOSS!

I think there were something like 30 players in this event but very little lag - even with AOE spells. Thanks to everyone who turned off combat logs, kept groups small, etc - bust esp thanks again the Darkshard!

Darkshard ran several really fun ambushes with fiery blockades, manufactured landslides and lots of fighting! He didn't pull punches when we lost one of the horses, leaving the PCs to comically lug the thing most of the trip! Hehehe!

Not to mention Darkshard pretty much picked up this ENTIRE City Relief Effort on his own. He's run interference on a ton of my PMs, set up background events to get things rolling and more! Thanks again! I think, Darkshard, it says a lot that so many people were gathered to be a part of YOUR event! Stay classy and if I ever see you I'll bake you some cookies!
