There was an update this morning. Lots of changes, fixes, and tweaks!

The big ticket items are:

- The Bladesinger PRC is now available to play and the Dreadmaster PRC is now in the module for testing.

- Some summoning spells have been overhauled! New and re-worked summons have been added to the game and existing summons rebalanced. Affected spells are Summon Monster VI, VII, VIII, XI, Lesser Planar Binding, Planar Binding, Greater Planar Binding, Gate, and Epic Gate.

- Summons are now tied to caster alignment (good, neutral, evil).

- New items added to Doron Amar blacksmith (prices will be adjusted with a hotfix soon, if you buy something from there today you will pay close to 40% more than you should so I'd only advise it if you're desperate and rich :P)

- Custom melee feats reviewed and tweaked as follows:
One hander changed to "One Weapon" and benefits lowered to : If you are fighting with one weapon and carrying nothing in your off hand, the One Weapon feat enables a combat style in which you narrow your profile and situationally attempt to dodge, deflect, and dish out attacks. While the style is active you gain +1 dodge AC in combat. (and only +1, was 2)

If you possess the Feint feat its cooldown will reset freely once in a twelve second period. If you roll a 17 or higher during combat (unrelated to attacks, secretly rolled) you perform a tumble skill check for one of several one handed maneuvers.

You may perform an acrobatic dodge (+4 tumble, +1 dodge AC two rounds), a weaving assault (+d4 AB two rounds), insightful footwork (+2 dodge AC one round), a deflecting sweep (1 Deflection AC, +1 for every ten parry ranks, two rounds), or an off-hand swap (+4 bluff, feint reset).

Northlander Hewing works on an heartbeat fashion like One Weapon, attack count is more accurate and bonuses tied to STR as well.

Combat Focus cooldown lowered to 210 seconds, was 300.

About to post an update that will remove a handful of areas.

The Kheldrivver, Triel, Coast South of Candlekeep, Darkhold Ascent, Cloudpeak Descent, Cloakwood Mines Level 4, Trollclaws East, East Chionthar, and East Trail maps have been removed from the game.

I've fixed up existing transitions so that people can still have access to their guild halls (Doron Amar to/from Woods of Sharp Teeth North and Darkhold to/from Corm Orp, specifically) though there are DEFINITELY still transitions that will be non-working. Do not be surprised if there's an area you could normally access a certain way that is no longer accessible that way (for now--we'll get it fixed, I promise!).

Familiar overhaul, the following improved familiars are available : pseudodragon, stirge, faerie dragon. They have more HP and AC than common familiars but no melee damage to speak of. You need the improved familiar feat to select those familiars, one can change familiar by using the Bind familiar feat.

Once you reach epic levels all familiar get an SLA, regular familiars can select an SLA up to level 3 in a list of arcane spells, if you have the improved familiar feat the list expands, including up to level 8 spells.

Pilfer magic updated

At 1st level, once per day, the arcane trickster can dispel a magical effect on a target and receive statistical bonuses from it. The ability is a touch attack equivalent to greater dispel magic. For each spell successfully dispelled, up to 3, the arcane trickster receives +2 bonus to attack rolls and all saving throws for the next ten rounds. They can use this ability twice per day at 5th level and three times per day at 9th level.

- The respawn timer can be overridden with a local variable "respawn_override"
- Chests with item loot have a 25% chance to pick loot from the RIG system, and 75% to use the medium loot table
- Non-chests (e.g. corpses) loot containers now use the same per-character system as chests
- Non-chests respawn timer is set to 1 hour, and can also be overridden locally
- Non-chests still use only the RIG system to generate loot.
- Non-chests now use the same cleanup system for items left behind as the chests use.

Why is this so huge?
Resource alignment has changed in each hak, the order they are in does aid in load times at a constant rate over the streamed file structure than randomly ordered. For example, a file with the name "a_bcd" can appear at the end of a hak, requiring a multi hundred hak to be read to the end of the stream before the asset is loaded. The reason the larger packed files are redownloaded is that the ADL does not identify the contents within the file itself, such as a hak. Consider the hak similar to a zip file with a multitude of individual files within. When reordering, or a new file is introduced within, or a change to a file within, the MD5sum hash calculated of the file is no longer the same, invalidating the file and forcing the update. An external downloader is coming which does address this.
What happened to the external downloader?
Forthcoming, the LZMA method of compression failed ADL checks as the game client and toolset uses an out of date version, causing download failures.
Is this part of the autostager?
Somewhat. The module builds, but the ADL hash match failures occur due to the newer LZMA compress/uncompress differentiates than that supplied with NWN2. An update will come on Thursday's release.
Problem with downloading from the in game ADL...
Try accessing the lzmas directly from a browser at this link. Uncompress them using 7zip into your My Documents \ NWN2 \ directory tree categorically.

Yes. Chambordini and Dedude worked diligently at it's restoration and expansion.

"Why is the size so huge again?"
Restoration from the previous attempts to minimize the impact of the updates. A whole new system for individuals impacted via minute differentials is forthcoming, ETA unspecified.

"Is the update schedule going to change still? Be so frequent?"
Schedules for updates once every two weeks is likely the plan going forward unless a critical necessity demands an update.
