In the night, a lone messenger travels to Doron Amar, the Order of the Silver Rose and the northern Helzak Dwarves. The message reads.....

"To all those it may concern,

The elves of Dharasha Everae have begun preparations for the movement and defense of our people and their lands. It has been requested that we join in alliance, to work in a great endeavor to stop the rising tide of Orc and Drow. We tell you now that we will stand with all those who would ally themselselves against this great threat.

The Moon's crescent shall soon grace the sky and with it we of Dharasha are to hold exercises to train our minds and bodies to meet these Orcs in combat. We would ask all of those able bodied of your ranks to join us in this endeavor. We must organize and learn to fight in unison, or we and those we defend shall pay dearly for our reticence.

We will await your word within our Gullykin camp."

The letter is not signed.

//OOC:

Planning event for 6-7pm EST, Aug 25th

This is not an arena style fight club event :!:
This is meant to build team work and camaraderie :!:

There will be a single guild competition event.
The rest, teams shall be divided up equally from amongst the ranks of participants.

There will be three training drills, each run twice to assure learning from mistakes.

1.) Capture the Flag
2.) King of the Hill (hold the fort)
3.) Guard the Lord/People (evacuation Drill)

Rules and Protocols will be established and posted in the coming days.

All those whom wish to participate may post within this thread, but you must come from as a rank and file of at least one of these groups. That means don't post Steve, we don't want to hear it, tough shit!

Everyone, including DM's, I look forward to your feedback via PM's and I am excited about the possibilities here :D

It should be a fun IC RP learning expierence that can really give us a both a reason and want to fight by each other's side! I guess we will see......//

Capture the Flag
Event Set-up:

1.) A neutral player, or players, will act as referee.
2.) Two opposing teams, each will be given a base location on opposite ends of the map.
3.) Each team will nominate a captain.
4.) Each team will be given a flag.
5.)The refree will give each captain a signal tell giving them 5 mins to prepare their teams (warding and positioning)

Event Rules:

1.) These flags are to be guarded and kept within the corresponding team's base.
2.) If a team captures an opposing flag they must return it to their own.
3.) This team will then send a tell to the referee, which will begin a two minute count down.
4.) If the flag is recaptured, the countdown ends and the game continues.

Rules of Engagement:

1.) All spells, feats and skills are in play here.
2.) No wands or scrolls will be allowed, you must look to your team members for boosts.
3.) No healing from kits, or items, this however may be done through spells cast by teammates.
4.) Once a player is taken down, they are out of the game, no ifs, ands, or buts :!:
5.) If all the players on one team are taken down, that team loses.

Reading up the letter in Doron Amar again, Mealir goes to find other members to see if they're interested by such an exercise.

Syclya Fren states that the Elder Circle stands ready to assist in any way it can.

//I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it. I might have to work at that time, I'm not sure yet. But if I can, I'll be there!

*Teuvaelivae reads the letter with high enthusiasm* "This shall prove as interesting as it will hold no lesser importance in the dark days that lay before us not so distant."

The elves of Dharasha Everae have begun their exercises in preparation for the battles to come. They run excursions into the deepest and darkest recesses seeking to become a single fighting unit.

Their blades sharpened, their bodies tested, they now feel ready to turn their attention to both their friends, and their enemies.

// this is really just a bump, but I figured best to include something :P

Just to clarify the times, in the post it says 6-7pm EST. Is that the *start* time, or the total time for the event? I can get on at 7pm EST so if the start time is 6-7, then I will be able to come, albeit a little late, but if the entire event is from 6-7 EST, I will likely miss it.

// Start time. As you well know, if you say 6-7 you can figure about 8 before you really get rolling :P

This will probably be a long running event, would imagine about 3-4 hours possibly ;)

// It sounds fun but I will need to pass because I can already imagine the lag on my end with so many people running around with wards and spells...

// Don't forget, this is not a DM run event and so special scripting with NPC's will not be present. Also, it will be held on a neutral map and so there will be no spawning lag either.

/// not that Saline would partake in such a thing, she would aid by masking tea and evil cookies for all... functionally her player will be busy "hillbilling it" at the village fair in RL.
