Verith's Journal

Unread post by BigBlueCow »

Eleint 1, 1351 -
It has been a many of nights since I have been able to record my life's work since that wretched witch stole my book. Thankfully she was unable to remove the ward upon it to discover my true intentions.
I have returned my most Unholy Father, to complete most glorious of work that his will has bestowed upon your most humble and faithful servant. I came upon a most excellent sacrifice for him today... such a powerful one she was. I could taste her soul even when I could not see her, she will be his! Her blood will cover his most unholy altar, her body sliced into perfect pieces for his will.. so delicious, my mouth still waters just of the thought! Her soul will forever serve his will in the eternal afterlife and bring him that much closer to this world. Soon all will fear his name once more, too many mortals walk these lands with no fear.. no worries of what lurks within the shadows.

Eleint 9, 1351-

What a most thrilling night it is has been, in my travels I cam upon a Warrior covered with armor wielding a weapon that sang to my very essence. Without even knowing who I am he could feel my true being and began to shake with excitement to find Gray One of the Lord of Bones. I have begun his test of will and faith to our Unholy Father and he is showing to become quite promising, I see great and dark potential within his soul.

I am one step further now to our goals, but I must be diligent in the search for discovering the rest of followers in this realm... I can feel their presence masked with lies.. I will rip it from them even if they do not know it is within them"

Eleint 15, 1351 –

My most promising student has exceeded my expectations. He has much to learn but he has great potential in him. He has brought me several mortals who seek the truth path of power to follow the Unholy Father and they have passed the initiation and are now Daring Ones within the church.
My blood rushes through my veins in excitement to see our Fathers plans come to life. He has visited me in my dreams most pleased with the work that has been done in his name, I feel unworthy to have his presence in my slumber and perhaps this makes me worthy to receive his blessing.. or perhaps I am just another small pawn being moved into place in order for true darkness to consume these lands. I will continue my work on building the Churches sanctuary and soon my children will have a proper place to worship and be close to our Unholy Father.

It has been many suns since my last entry, my work has been so demanding of me in this past while. The work of the church has been growing and growing as each new day comes, our numbers have increased greatly and I feel my Lords presence more and more each day. Soon the Day the Dead are Most With Us will be here and his mighty plan will unfold.
One of my most promising acolytes has begun his path to earning a title unknown to most even within the clergy. He brought forth an elf he slaughtered for our sacrificial ritual, the sight on her face where her last breath was taken mmmm .. FEAR! It energized my old body as if I was in my younger years once more.

It has been many falling stars since I have recorded the deeds in my time living in the realm of the Light, my research has proven sum what successful on the cause of my Brethren vanishing from the lands surrounding Baulder's Gate. I have concluded the that the only way to trace their presence is to continue the work I sought out to many years ago for the one and true Lord.

As I returned back from my journey home, I have discovered that my wandering children have begun to vanish without a trace as well. I grow more curious with every moment I spend in these lands, the connection to the Realm of Darkness is diminishing in my long absence and I have begun to seek out this cause. I have begun my search with finding the few that remain loyal to the Lord of Bones to learn of what has transpired in my long absence.

I have found the few of my children that still remain, the work they have continued on in my leave has been more of politics then of what our Lord truly wishes, it appears I must -re-educate- them in the ways of our faith. I will begin the work with re-establishing my Lord's presence and which better way to do so then to find those who would attempt to consecrate and rid the lands of Unholy.

Thine Lord summoned upon his devoted servant, alerting him to the presence of those who wished to cleanse his lands, with grace I found myself walking in the presence of the unholy children. By rule of the Lord of the Dead I banished them from these lands, yet there was one who foolishly stood before me, claiming to be one with Lathander. She claimed to know in whom I serve, she was a fool to announce such a claim before the true power of the Lord of the Dead. I had found my first sacrifices to thine Lord, one by one they fell, I was hoping for more of a challenge if I am to be honest with my thoughts and yet I was left unsatisfied. I counted four bodies but five were in my presence, he fled from witnessing the one called Khalee's soul being torn from her body with a thousand screams into the hells. I pondered for a time whether I should hunt him down but the whispers of the Dead held me from doing so.

After the rest fell, I began my work, wrapping their bodies with the black steel of death. On the hill above the path, I noticed someone watching me, more curious then anything... I have seen her before but, not in many ages. She continued on her way after watching for a time. With the peaceful sounds of the undead swarming the fields I could easily hear the one that fled coming up the path, alone, this was most curious. He pleaded with me to hear his tale before I strike him down, the humorous part of my humanity still remaining let him live.. for the time being.

The man's words intrigued me and the whispers of my Lord spoke unto me as he finished, he was left alive to witness the return of the one True Lord and so it was done. My journey has only begun...

It has been some time since I've recorded my thoughts and deeds over the the falling seasons, but I feel compelled to with a strange sense of emotions. The Lord has shared his visions with me once more and guides me to leading his Church in the right direction. Our presence rises with every dusk that falls, more of the Lord's Grey Ones come from the shadows and join the ranks.

A darkness is falling upon these lands, this plague that spreads is fascinating, I have watched it for some time now causing panic and riots in the streets. I feel as if this the sign I've seen in my dreams that the Church's rise cannot be stopped, many will die from what is to come if left to do what is needed to done. The holy orders scramble to resist and destroy what is inevitable.

My dreams twist and turn attempting to point what is to be done of this blissful plague, whether I am to aid it or fight it, it is beginning to form. Soon we must act... perhaps it is to assist this wondrous creation to our own cause or to reap from its benefits as it takes its place in the land.
